We arrived at our vacation rental and they wouldn't give us the code to enter the house that was so inconvenient after one night on the road we had to wait for them to email us the code because they forgot
Then while there at the house the maintenance guy for the pool came and put chemicals in the pool and told us not to use the pool until tomorrow night. Imagine my kids. The pool was the main reason we rented the house. I texted vacasa and asked them about this but they never answered. They can't do maintenance while customers are there. It was the worst experience ever!
Booked a week trip to Rehoboth Beach, DE. Picked this place due to proximity and amenities as it had a fitness center and two pools. Prior to the trip received emails and texts almost daily with them needing more information or us to fill out yet another form. The weather was miserable while we were there and we decided to use our Amazon prime account to purchase a movie, only to be charged by VACASA for the same purchase even though the tv showed it was purchased on our account. Received a call from VACASA about it immediately and no option to credit us for this charge when we have proof we paid on our account.
Another day they called to let us know that work was being done on the property. We then had to listen to the unit beneath us have work done for several hours. The last day of our trip we received word that they would have a contractor needing to be onsite at 9:30am. Said contractor arrived at 10am and has been cutting into walls and moving items to see if they can find a so called leak that we haven't seen.
We cannot leave as the contractor has been coming and going to get this work done. So our last day plans had to be canceled so we can sit here and babysit a contractor who needs to complete work. This work could have been completed after we checkout tomorrow at 10am. Never again will we book with VACASA.
Every single inch of this house is beat! It is disgusting!
The rental we stayed at is called "Silverheels Splendor" in Silverthorne Colorado.
The photos that are posted on the Vacasa website must be several years old.
Please look at the REAL photos to see for yourself.
I did a review on their website and they only put up my name and 1 star. The review is missing. Hmm, wonder why? I find it impossible that anyone would rate this house any better. It is repulsive!
They have not yet contacted me by phone/text or email to even apologize.
The wood floors and carpet are absolutely gross. Huge sign "take off your shoes" as I step on a tack strip.
There are carpet stains throughout the house and it smells awful.
Hot tub didn't work, but I would not have stepped a toe into it even if it was working.
A tile from the bathroom is just laying on the floor behind the bathroom door.
Outlet plug cover is missing in the kitchen.
The back of the front door and garage door leading into the garage has huge scratches all over them.
Filthy windows.
Kitchen counter has stains on it. I also love how someone watered down the hand soap (Mrs Meyers) that is on the counter.
Black duct tape wrapped around electrical cords (fire hazard no doubt)
Main floor bedroom comforter has a huge tear in it and the stuffing inside is falling out.
The grates on the gas grill were dirty and the wood piece behind it was burned.
This was our first time renting from Vacasa and it will be our last.
It is disgraceful for Vacasa to represent a house that is so offensive.
What a horrible experience on my vacation.
Shame on you Vacasa!
We stayed at Surfside Resort 2-1508 from 6/24/-6/28 Room in Miramar Beach, FL. While we were checking in there was a 40 minute wait due to 1 elevator being out of service. We were in the 15th floor so taking the stairs was not an option due to people with our condo having knee and back surgery previously. The code given to us did not work. We called the numbers on the email and after 15 minutes no one answered the other line. We had to go find security to get the code reset to get in. When we got into the condo the second bedroom temperature was at 89 degrees. There was stuff left in the sink. There was crumbs under the table. There was a dustpan left on the table. We notified Vacasa of the thermostat problem. Malik came and reset everything. Next day the second bedroom cooled down to 79. Still not comfortable. We found the bathtub water filled up while showering because it drain so slow. Then the thermostats stop working again for both rooms and it was 79 degrees. We also notified them of that and was told there was a power surge overnight. Ok that's understandable but by the nighttime the temperature was back up and very uncomfortable for sleeping. We just gave up at this point and do not plan to stay in this resort again due to management. The morning of checkout the cleaning people came at 8am and opened our door. We were not satisfied with this condo/management and it made the trip a bit uncomfortable. This place overall could use HVAC services amongst other things to satisfy its guest. I have a reference number of ******* that has done no good. We were told by Malik we will get a refund for cleaning. Fees are at $451, total is $1689.86. We were also told we would get compensation for the A/C issues. I am waiting to hear back from Vacasa regarding the entire stay. Vacasa has not called and I have called them 3 times and I get the same answer that local management is not in office and someone will call. They have responded to my BBB complaint and said they are not responsible for any of this. Don't do service with this company!
We are 2920 Banana Palm Drive on a family trip. We have a few teens and young adults. To them the worst thing in the world is being somewhere where the internet is not working. We can barely use our phones, no tv, I can't do a the little bit of work on my laptop that I need to do. We called customer service, and they only tell us that a ticket was submitted?
I rented a house in Deerfield FL threw VBRO and Vacasa was the property management co. When we arrived to the house we found out it was broken into a month before. The doors were not fixed properly and the air conditioning did not work in most of the rooms or bathrooms. There were no lights in the rooms and the pool/backyard and house were disgusting. The neighborhood was not safe and in the middle of the ghetto and when we contacted the property manager she said there was nothing wrong with the house but she would not stay there. We can't get a hold of anyone to get out refund they keep giving us the run a round so now I have to go threw my credit card company and dispute the charges and get my refund. I have a letter from VBRO stating they have also tried multiple times to get a hold of someone. I also took many pictures and videos to show them. The house has now been removed from the site so hopefully this won't happen to anyone else. This is the worst company and the people working for them are no better.
Vacasa lied in their listing of the property my family and I rented for a weeks vacation at the Oregon Coast. The listing showed and stated beach access right behind the property. What it failed to show is a huge boulder cliff that there was no way to navigate safely down, especially with the three babies we listed in our reservation. The house also listed the house as being able to sleep nine people, which we had in our party. However, upon arrival, we discovered one of the beds was broken and not usable. We then had to bunk children with adults crowded into beds for an entire week. We contacted Vacasa about these issues immediately but they did nothing to help us. We were told someone would come to the property to address the issues but all they did was take pictures. They also told us the city had just put the huge boulder cliff in because the houses were falling off the cliff. We checked with the city, that wasn't true either. Our entire vacation was ruined as we had to load up everything and everybody in cars everytime we wanted to go to the beach and then had to drive everyone back when a baby needed a nap. We had never used Vacasa again and due to their lack of professionalism, lack of courtesy, lack of accountability, and lack of action, we will never use them again. We have contacted the BBB and we are sharing our experience in all social media platforms. Beware!
That's what I was told & you would be better off sleeping outside taking your chance with bears than trying to sleep inside the expensive unit you paid for- I walked in & it was over 91 degrees- no effort made to close blinds - 6 hours later & it's 86 degrees inside -they should be ashamed of themselves- get a window unit or two -these folks deliberately misled to get the booking- imho this unit isn't habitable at this level temperature- the implication was that the inside of the house would be as cool as the outdoors- 66 - not a chance
Unclean place. Pool cleaned once out of 7 days. Disgusting! If zero were a rating they would get that.
We have rented a house in Saugatuck, MI for the past 17 years. It used to be privately owned and then was owned by a company called "Lake Shore Rentals". They actually did a really nice job of keeping up the house. However when Vacasa bought them out they have done absolutely NOTHING to keep up the house as far as I can tell. The deck is in severe dis-repair and has been for at least 2 years now. The deck furniture has all kinds of mold and crap on it. The staircase going down to the water is discolored and nasty. I mean like fungus growing on it etc. Folks have to balance down the stairs so as not to touch the funky stuff on there. We pay a lot to go to this house every year and we are now in discussions of finding a different spot because this is just not acceptable for what Vacasa charges for this house.
This booking company wants the full money for the trip 30 days before you take the trip and if you cancel anytime after that you don't get none of your money back. Please be ware! Use another booking company! I tried to cancel 2 weeks before my trip because I was scheduled to have a surgery and told me I would lose all the money I paid for my trip. They are horrible
I used Vacasa for our popular rental in Manson, WA. Here are the issues:
*Billed for extra cleaning even though I often went in and tidied up their jobs.
*"Fixed" a dryer that was still broken and we needed to buy a new one.
*Never delivered a required STR sign, though promised for weeks
*Charged for pets but none of the charges were split with the homeowner
*Did not return calls, no local office
*Forgot to clean; luckily I caught this, and the came rushing over to do a half as*ed job.
This review could have been prevented if they had responded with a refund or apology.
Do not book with Vacasa. They leave you for dead once you pay. They don't care about your needs/requests. Go with someone else.
I had outpatient medical treatment every day at Mayo. I couldn't move houses and I had my dog with me. They said they would take care of things but they didn't. It got worse and worse.
I had to eat all meals out and spent a fortune.
Vacasa cancelled our booking last minute and refuses to refund our money back. Spent A LOT of wasted time trying to settle it with their company and they are blaming their "policies and procedures" that they can't refund us. ARE THEY SERIOUSLY SUGGESTING THAT WE ARE LIABLE TO PAY FOR SERVICES THEY DIDN'T DELIVER? TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY VACASA- YOU GUYS ARE SCAMMERS!
How I wish I had read the reviews prior to booking with Vacasa. Terrible experience! They are unresponsive and when I finally reached them they were rude and I am certain the lady I was on the phone with me discriminated against me. I am attempting to cancel due to the flooding happening in Vermont. They will not issue a refund to me at all even when their cancellation policy states that they can give me a refund if they see fit. So in this case they are choosing to deny me a refund. Its not like I dont want to go...the flooding is causing me to wonder if my family will actually enjoy a vacation up there. Vacasa is inhumane, discriminatory, unresponsive, rude, dismissive and quite frankly the worst company I have ever dealt with! I hope you reading this does not book through them. You will regret it.
We rented a home in the white mountains in New Hampshire, and upon arrival discovered a slew of dead bugs all over the kitchen stairwell, and in the upstairs bedrooms, it appears there's an infestation in the wall on that particular side of the house. Additionally, the air conditioning units were covered in mold and mildew, and both of my kids found live cockroaches in their bedrooms and we therefore ended our trip early. When I contacted them on our arrival day about the condition of the kitchen and the dead bugs, I was told that I had to wait around the following day for some pest control people to show up. When I followed up with them again, after finding a live roaches and told them that we had fled the home, they said that they didn't believe the photos have been taken at the home, and that they were doctored. I have been fighting with them since to get a refund for the one day and one evening our trip was cut short. To add insult to injury, I submitted a review for the home they stripped out every one of my comments and left only the one star. This organization should be ashamed of themselves. I would never book a home managed by Vacasa again, nor would I recommend them to anyone stay far far away from this group.
We have had nothing but issues since day 1. Renters were allowed to not follow the rules and had too many dogs and allowed them to go to the bathroom in the neighbor's yard unleashed while the kids fished from their yard. I was told to 'give some leeway' because it is a rental property. I am sure my neighbor would not agree. We told the renters to get rid of the extra dog and follow the rules or leave and Vacasa let them out of an entire month and took the money toward another rental unit while ours sat off the market for several days, and we only got paid for 4 days. When it finally rented again, the renters were again allowed to not follow the rules and let their dog swim in our pool. We thought we could just chalk it up as two back to back bad renters, but then we caught the cleaner on our security camera cleaning in the middle of the night and then taking the liberty of swimming in our pool while the lanai area is still covered in food remnants, wrappers, chicken bones, and they are saying they won't come back as they are afraid I will call the police. Really? Just do your job that you are clearly overcharging for! Then, the property manager tried to remove items that were ours. And finally, we were told the inventory that took 2 weeks to do when it was going to be put live online was not really an inventory. They have no idea what items we have in the house other than some photos (no inventory of household items, blankets, pillows, games, electronics, furniture despite being told they write down everything right down to serial numbers). How would they even know if something were stolen by a renter who is forced to sign up for insurance that is supposed to cover those things and the owner is also talked into taking insurance that clearly covers the same thing? I don't even know how a claim could be made if they don't have an inventory to prove it was there in the first place. And now going on 7 days since the last renters were there and still no phone call from management to rectify this situation despite giving termination notice. Not even a courtesy call to see what happened.
I will never book with this company again. My home town which I don't live in any more 1600 miles away I go to every year and book a trip. It was plagued with National Disaster (Ludlow, Vermont). Streets washed away and residents were left stranded. I tried to cancel my stay at the Local Mill and no way they would let me. I have paid in advance as we know we have to and no compassion on canceling. My family their says it is a mess. I have to fly into an airport 3 states away, rent a car and make accommodations to stay. So this is done in advance obviously. They will do nothing for refund. Nothing good will happen with the Company and they wouldn't let me speak to the owner of the property who may or may not care. DO NOT RENT THROUGH THEM EVER. https://www.facebook.com/reel/**************?sfnsn=mo&s=F5x8gs&fs=e&mibextid=BVrOdk. A link attached to the disaster.
I just don't know where to start. First, they gave us the wrong code to get in. It was late and dark and we had just drove a long way. I did the text the company that it didn't work. I called and after they condescended to me, I finally got the correct code. Three hours later, a text came through asking, "I hear you are having trouble entering your rental." This was 11pm.
The duplex was okay. The kitchen was stocked like a hotel. Nothing but a couple of pans and plates. Also, only one extra roll of toilet paper. I thought, if anyone was on their period, they would need a lot more than that. It just adds work for them.
Then there was canopenergate. It didn't work. Almost all of our meals had cans involved. So we asked nicely for a new one, please and thank you. 3 days later one was laid upon our porch. It didn't even work (It was new). We just laughed. The rungs on the porch weren't attached. A kid would fall to their death. There were nail heads sticking out of the floor I cut my foot on. The house cleaner left food on the floor and hair in the shower. The list goes on. You won't believe the next one. This one should have you in the grips of despair and cause you to NEVER to rent from them.
As we were leaving for home, the man from across the street ask if our unit had an elevator in it. We said no but what happened?
Well, the elevator would not open and was stuck. They feverishly called VACASA and they said they were too busy to help because it was turn over day. They just need to call the fire department. What the heck? They didn't care that someone was stuck in the elevator. Yeah, no. The can go to the firey depth of h3ll.
Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
Answer: I am not sure but for the renter (not the owners) the fees may be charged without full disclosure.
Answer: Bad bad bad worst service I ever got at a short term rental
