Well, this was my very First and very LAST visit to this rental facility anywhere. We couldn't sign in until 5:00 p.m. Floors were dirty, still had crumbs all up the stairs to the bedrooms, goldfish under the coffee table on the bottom shelf and a dice, the countertops in the kitchen had crumbs on them, the dishwasher was full from the last tenants, and the dishes either were washed or they didn't come clean. The TV remote didn't half work, the shower in my Bathroom wouldn't work, (shot a straight shot of water) and the toilet handle, you had to hold down to flush, and the shower curtain hadn't been changed in some time as there was mold on the bottom of it. The furniture was dirty as if they had never been cleaned, the patio doors were dirty with water wipes all over it. The one patio door would not lock. This place, even after bathing i felt completely and utterly NASTY. This was at the Vacasa Rental at the Outter Banks. I will never, ever stay at any facility they own again even if it was a FREEBY! Feeling Upset and Disgusted!
I numerous problems with rental with maintenance & safety issues. Called, emailed numerous times & only get the blank statement "hope we get a chance to make us to you"! How many times have stated toso many customers throughout the years & just through the others reviews & comments! No accountability or changes to their service for many years!
We had reservations for June 16th to the 23rd, 2023. On the morning of the 16th my mother passed away. I called later that day to cancel. I called two different numbers to inform them of the situation *******005 and *******399. I did not record either representative that I talked to. During these phone calls I was told I could not cancel and get a refund and to consider coming to the property later in the week or finding someone who could take use the property.
I called back the next day(June 17th) and said I would not be coming nor could I find anyone to use the property. I said I wanted to cancel. I was told they would research some type of refund and get back to me. I did not hear from anyone until I called back Monday(June 19th) and was told again since I was past the 30 day mark I could not receive any refund.
I even attempted to get a refund through my credit card company and after 6 weeks they said they could not offer any refund.
Our room was filthy upon arrival. The floors still had sand all over them, there was coffee still sitting in the coffee pot that was never cleaned. Under the bed was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. There was some sort of disgusting stain on the side of the box spring of the bed. There was about four inches of dust on the filter for the air conditioning. The blinds for the sliding glass door were busted and didn't slide open easily and two were completely broken off and just leaning against the wall in the corner. I had to contact them multiple times about this issue and they sent two different cleaners and still our room is dirty to the point we don't even want to talk barefoot. Pictured is a towel we shuffled along the floor on from the shower to the bed. DISGUSTING! SAVE YOUR MONEY! It's a shame too because the property management at Golden Sands was fantastic and kept the grounds in tip top shape!
We were called 4 hours into an 8 hour trip and told our original reservation was no longer available. They then advise that there was a similar location so we agreed to take it. When we arrived to the second reservation the building was under full construction no balcony railings and holes in the concrete flooring that dropped down to the third floor. Once we entered the unit we noticed the parking pass that's supposed to go into our car not only had our room number but also the pin number to get into our room. To make matters worse the door had no deadbolts so the pin number is the only thing you needed to gain access. When we contacted Vacasa we were asked to send pictures and videos in order for us to be relocated which we did but we never heard back from the company the rest of the night. We were forced to stay and rig the door as best we could in order to keep anyone from coming in. We were awoke the next morning with the entire condo shaking from construction going on above us below us and outside the door. Construction workers were walking around in full hard hats but we were expected to stay there. When I called and spoke to the representatives they kept assuring me the relocation specialist we're working on it and there was nothing they could do. We finally received a text around noon that day stating that our unit was no longer available because it was under construction. Obviously. When someone finally made contact with us they stated that there was no longer any options available and they would refund our money minus the first night. It took me speaking with a manager in order to get the full refund back. I ended up being out an additional $300 due to there being no availability in the area. Vacasa never made any attempts to cover any additional charges or make any amends for the stress and time that they took away from the only vacation I have had and will have in a long time. To make matters worse I found out their corporate office was within 10 minutes of this rental so they knew it was under construction. Steer clear of this company!
I used Vacasa as the middleman for a family vacation when I went through AirBNB this year.
And when I left the property, I forgot a couple items (fishing rods), so I contacted Vacasa on my ride home asking them to have the cleaning staff to gather my items and I would gladly pay to have them sent back to me.
Seems pretty reasonable.
Well, it has been a month and all I have heard when I inquire about the status of my items is a 'we apologize' response. No effort done on their part. So I continued to ask 'have you located my items?' Nothing...
Then they tell me I have to send them $25 JUST so that they will call the local office 'to ASK' did they find anything?' They would not even pick up the phone and ask the local office about the items without making me send them money.
If that isn't POOR customer service, I don't know what is.
I'm sure my items are long gone. Hopefully one of the cleaning staff's family can use a nice LL.Bean rod.
So after a month, all I have is responses 'we apologize'. They SHOULD apologize. Won't even make a phone call.
I believe, over time, if this is standard practice for Vacasa and the way they treat their customers, this company will not survive.
I personally have decided that Vacasa 'Does NOT care about its customers".
I will never rent with AirBNB again when their involved.
We have used the platform for 2 months. Service is horrible. 1) No direct person contact- They will sign u up for first initial meeting, after is done. Then they tell you, you also need to hire another local host(why bother sign-up with them(if we need extra layers of hiring local host-makes no sense), 2) Poor platform functionality- they put up all your information on Airbnb, Vrbo, etc with owner information as a point of contact without acknowledgment (if trouble exist), so they sold my cel/email to random people and I get constant spam. 3) after we terminated our contract, they still continuous selling our listing online (without consent)
4) continuously sent random people to our location (we almost call the cops for trespassing). 5) Failed to let all platform know that, they no longer have the listing (owner need to report, after they found out) there is a random listing out there.
They are the worst practice and also don't even know why they were qualify own public traded stock. I believe this is a fraudulent business practice to scam people with personal information.
When we arrived at our property in New Buffalo, MI the key pad continued to die. One night after a movie we were completely locked out. I called the help and had an incredibly frustrating conversation with a woman in OR. It took an hour to resolve - that isn't the worst part. When the property manager showed up she brought three cops with her. She said that she had been told that I was threatening the woman on the phone and breaking into the property with a coat hanger. The "threat" came after the woman on the phone told me she would send someone the next day to fix the lock and the door I was busting into with a coat hanger was the screened in porch to see if the door into the kitchen had been left open. When the property manager and three police officers arrived the only ones that were polite were the cops. She left us a key that doesn't work and th key pad continues to malfunction. I sent a message to the company and their response was that I was threatening their staff The cherry on top is thr grill ran out of gas in the middle of grilling 12 chicken breasts. I regret giving these people my money and won't be back. Customer service and general
Human empathy is not a corporate value at this place.
Not giving the owners of the home we stayed in in Avon, NC a bad review because they have a nice home, great location and well kept. However they are switching to Surf & Sound Reality in 2024. Vacasa does not respond to issues in the home. Previously was Outer Beaches Reality and they responded. Vacasa would not respond to an ant issue in the home. Instead we had to go buy multiple items to kill the ants or try to. They have yet to respond or assist in this. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VACASA!
10 people in two bathrooms for 5 days with 4 rolls of toilet paper. Texted for more their response was we will have to buy it ourselves they only supply 2 rolls per bathroom. Texted day of check in that 4pm check in was changed to 6 pm. Didn't call or explain why. Any question or request took over 4 hours to get any response.
The rental house was in need of some repairs. Sliders didn't work without you manually pulling them. No solid instructions about arriving and leaving. There were three different messages regarding trash and no trash barrels outside. We had to keep the trash in the house and it was 85 degrees. It was disgusting. Called Vacasa the next morning after arriving and they were going to get right back to me. Never heard a word! I will never rent from them again and shame on VRBO for representing them. They have one
Of the worst ratings of most rental companies. Should have done a deeper dive before I rented. I'm done with both companies! More to complain about but to lengthy. Don't rent a lake house in center Barnstead, NH!
I booked a property through Hatteras Realty.com. I needed to cancel based on the cancellation policy in the terms and conditions I was given. They gave me different terms and conditions and tried not to let me cancel for a refund. Turns out I shouldn't have been able to book through Hatteras Realty.com, but I had all my paperwork. They also tried not to refund me for my travel insurance, but I had my documents for that too. In the end, they had to refund me under the terms and conditions I signed with Hatters Realty, which allowed me a full refund minus the booking fee. However, it took two days of arguing, showing documents, multiple phone calls, and never being able to get ahold of a manager. When they finally gave me my refund, they didn't even call or send an email; they just initiated with my credit card but didn't refund me for my travel insurance, so I had to call back and argue with them about that, even though I was well within their 14-day policy and the 30-day policy in my written contract from Red Sky. In the end I lost a $290 booking fee, but I got a much nicer property in a much better location for the same price as the Vacasa property (which didn't look that great and had terrible reviews), so it's not really a loss. This company has nothing but terrible reviews. I will say that everyone I spoke to was nice, they never got angry despite my frustration, but they were hesitant across the board to refund me even though I was right, I really had to push and be persistent. I bet they get over on a lot of people who are scared to push back or just don't know their policy/rights well enough.
I feel like I dodged a major bullet, and I'll make sure I never book anything through Vacasa again. Read the other reviews. They speak for themselves.
Got to our vacation rental in Mammoth, CA 5 hours ago. There is potentially a safety issue with fireplace so we called the customer service number which is routed to a call center in India, or somewhere else. Several hours have gone by and no one has come to check it. No texts or info. Call center can't do anything other than start a ticker. Pathetic, terrible service.
False and misleading webpage- paid for house with lake view but there was no view at all
Wifi very poor, so rarely had wifi calling sono cell phone use most of the day
5th bedroom was not usable because no air conditioning- out of order
Management would not help us with wifi and our attempt to reset the modem
Satellite tv in master bedroom out of order
Non responsive management
The unit reserved was canceled on the day of my arrival…citing electrical issues. They assured me the room I was being transferred to would have the same view…they LIED. Instead of looking directly at the ocean I was looking directly at the Aliki…another hotel/condo building.
They said local Vacasa support would contact me they never did…instead they cancelled my reservation. I had to get up early the following day to reinstate the reservation…oh did I mention that after getting to the room on the 14th floor the door code did not work?
I asked for a complimentary extended checkout…they said local support would contact me…again they DID NOT.
It was my birthday weekend. Thank God the beach delivered because Vacasa sure as hell did not. They simply do not care!
Hope this was helpful.
This is the worst! They were very unhelpful after my husband died and I needed to reschedule vacation. Kept giving me run around saying they would call me back never did. Watch for no refund policy I booked through booking. Com and they sent me to Vacasa no reasoning with these people. Bad!
Rented at Thunder Island Unit 25 A. The only nice thing about this was the view. You pay for professional cleaning services, but the place was disgusting. My husband who has lung cancer and I called to complain how dirty the unit was once we arrived, was told to send multiple pics which we did. It took him and I an hour to clean it ourselves! Very expensive for what you get furniture wasn't even fit to sit on, visibly dirty on ever piece of furniture.Beware of these places they are not worth the prices you pay! I forgot to add, that none of the tv's worked. On the screen it said please pay bill to get it up and running again. Called about that also and only got automated response!
Vacasa is awful! The washing machine flooded the condo and management would never call us back. It's been over a week since leaving our trip early and after calling the national Vacasa phone line dozens of times and them telling us someone from the "local"office will call us back, we have not received a call.
Terrible customer service
Customer service is trash. Arrived to our rental in North Padre island and upon initial inspection found the shower doors of their track and stuck in the middle. I called Vacasa right away and was told a work order would be placed. I was there for 4 days and no one ever came. As the days went on I began to find several other problems with rental. Honestly I don't know how this company is still in business. This was my first and last time I will ever book with Vacasa. One last thing, stay away from rental Pathway to the sea #102 in N. Padre Island. Issues with this rental did not just begin when I got there. These issues are old and it dosnt seem like the owner cares to fix them..
We had several issues with a condo we rented, tried to contact them about problems and all they do is lie saying someone will get back with you. This was by far the most horrible experience ever. It's been going on for over two weeks. Highly recommend do not rent through them
Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
Answer: I am not sure but for the renter (not the owners) the fees may be charged without full disclosure.
Answer: Bad bad bad worst service I ever got at a short term rental
