I booked a taxi through UBER, he arrived within about 10 minutes. He drove past me and the on the app I seen him driving in circles. I tried calling him. Then he called me and said he could no longer do my journey and that I must press cancel on the app and order another one. Bare in mind this is on New Years Eve, a 23 year old girl alone, with no coat, visiting her sick mother in hospital. I cancelled it on the app as he advised as I could not be bothered arguing, and it charged me £4 for cancellation even though I did not want to cancel it, he said I had to! As they are ignoring my emails, my bank are recovering the funds. I would rather give the £4 to charity rather than these con-men!
The drivers constantly cancel and charge late fees. Customer service is only reachable through the app (no phone #), and they're useless.
The little money potentially saved isn't worth the hassle, from what used to be an OK company and idea. SMH.

Unable to request a ride. Given a generic error message with no helpful information. "Contact help." Tried that, they were unknowledgeable and unable to help, then disconnected the chat. Used Lyft insead, got a ride right away, the first time.
Great drivers great service. However, I have been over charged more times than I can count. I reviewed all my trips with Uber and found hundreds of dollars of over charges charged to my bank account. One in September I was charged over $40.00 for a trip that normally cost me $26.00. I just found out today, but it was over 30 days old and they will not refund me for over charging. They have constant debits and credits going through my bank account, that It has made my head spin. They hold onto money that you didn't spend and then they refund you 5 days later and take that same amount and debit it from my bank account. I have lost a lot of money due to their payment method. If you don't want this to happen, then I suggest you take a Cab/Taxi.
I was trying to set up Uber I started to and put my credit card information into the Ubers app but when she arrived we paid cash instead so I don't know how this trip got charged to my credit card. She did not speak English, so it was very hard to communicate.
Without a doubt the worst experience of my life with Internet based services. Drivers in NYC either can't follow directions or have difficulty conversing in English. I couldn't find a way to communicate my frustrations with Uber. The phone number posted goes to a fax machine or another digital line. I am a SF Bay Area resident and was shocked at my experience. Moving on to give Lyft a try.
Uber has been gradually allowing drivers with poor reviews to work fro them. I have had safety issues and even a driver who was clearly under the influence, among other safety issues. When I cancel a ride due to low review scoring by other passengers, they have charged me cancellation fees and refused to refund me the $2. This happened three times in a row where I cancelled those trips within less than 24 hours. Lyft allows me to cancel trips if I do not like the driver's review score and has now configured me to ride with drivers with a 4.6 score or above. I will try Lyft, Cabify, Juno or Via before choosing Uber as I am sure other companies will come into the market and provide much better services to compete with Uber.
Be careful with Uber taxis. They change price on the meter if you don't pay attention. The meter was €11.30 and when it appeared on the app it was charged at €15. Uber adjusted it but still left me short of refund. Do not use them!
How does a delivery service business stay in business when they can't deliver? Placed an order for same day delivery through Game Stop 3 hours later Uber canceled because they couldn't find a driver. No order and refund tied up for 3-5 business days. Maybe Game Stop should think about going back to using Door Dash!
Attempting to be in touch with Uber is a maze of BS they hide behind a corporate sticker. They are slick. Today attempting to contact them is as always impossible. My hope is that another will step up and put them out of business. They attempted to get into my account three times today saying my ride was declined. I did not contact them today. I did my best to contact them to understand why they did this but have been met with generic script BS. Over them. Everyone spend your money elsewhere! We need to be aware of the support we give and stop corporations doing this to loyal customers who are over it. I would look forward to seeing them going out of business. I was on business in San Jose, CA this past week and used Uber for all my transportation. It was a wonderful and fulfilling experience. Very professional and clean with friendly helpful drivers. I will use this service again on future business trips.
Uber is such a shady company and they have terrible customer service. I placed an order and I ended up being charged more than double the amount. They refused to correct the total to what we agreed upon and I provided them with all of the info they requested. I even have a screenshot of what the price should be when it was in my cart. This company is absolutely horrible and they take out website glitches on their customers. Plus, their customer service is so rude and obnoxious. Shady companies like this shouldn't be in business.
For starters, Uber could care less about the drivers. They don't pay well and customer service is no help. You call in and either you have to keep trying because you can't reach anyone or the person you finally talk with doesn't speak English. The gentle that I finally was able to speak with pretended he couldn't hear me on the phone but he answered a question. That doesn't make sense. I have been dealing with the same issue for over a week now with them and still nothing. They definitely don't want to transfer you to a supervisor or someone who can actually help. So I give up, I am done with Uber.if I was able to give zero starts, I will. It's just not worth it in my option.
Terrible experience with Uber service today. The rider Roger, Chrysler 300,7LHV109 accepted my ride request but never showed up and ignored my calls and text messages. My App showed he was sitting near a shopping plaza a mile away instead of picking me up. After 35 minutes in the heat, my cell phone died and I had to take a taxi. Terrible service! And Uber charged me money for its driver's failure!
Uber accepted a prebooking for a 5 a.m. pick up to the airport with a quote of $32 base price plus taxes. An e mail stating that surge pricing was in effect was sent just as the driver arrived. We were already in the street. There was no time to cancel and book a limo so we got in. As a result, our fare was augmented to $126. I complained and they reduced it to $114. I am still fighting for a fair settlement. Today I took a cab.
I hadn't caught an Uber in like 4 years. The day I finally decide to give them another chance, is the day an older gentleman picks me up in a truck that smelled like sentient cigarettes bombed the place. The driver was nice I guess, but he has a real problem with a nicotine addiction. And, I'm ALLERGIC to smoke. After the ride, I started itching all over and still feel bad.
I tried to book a ride home from work. I was quoted $11.94. When I confirmed the price jumped to $35.61. I started over several times to be sure I wasn't doing something wrong. Nope. Same result every time. Forget it. I'm not paying $35. To go 1.2 miles.
Worst experience with the uber system built. Old payments were added to the new ride payments, whereas the old ride payment was paid using cash. Unnecessarily had to pay double for the new ride. Auto drivers unnecessarily took advantage of the situation and charged double. As a matter of fact no driver with ride for free and let the customer go without making payment. If so called "UBER" holds responsibility for this issue, pay back Rs.120 which is a double change I have paid to the Auto.
