Ego maniacs!
July 27, 2023

Every since Elon took this site over it has gone down hill, for the regular user. EVRYTHING is now locked down and a demand for payment to see the "twits" from the very people you signed up to "follow"

Greed and Ego have prevailed, and i see this app as dead as the X it changed it's name to.

Sorry/Not Sorry, I was really rooting for Elon when it started.

Twitter allows violent ideology to flourish. Racism, terrorism, bigotry, rape, suicide, all encouraged. Nothing happens when you report threats or other inappropriate content

Not That Great
June 2, 2020

Twitter was fun until they started shadow banning and censoring people. I have basically quit using the service all together because there are much better options available.

Twitter
June 7, 2010

Twitter. Twitter. Twitter.

Teens are tweeting about TWITTER.COM, a microblogging and social networking site that allows users to send and receive "tweets" -- short updates of 140 characters or less -- to and from the Twitter site and cell phones, as well as other Web applications like IM and Facebook. Find Twitter friends you want to keep up with? "Follow" those folks to receive all their updates. Users can choose to keep profiles private, which means followers must be approved before they can read tweets. Twitter is huge as a social tool, but it's also been used by media outlets, politicians, and even the Phoenix spacecraft on Mars to send out info.

Twitter can be great for keeping in touch with friends, or keeping up with what's going on in the world -- especially trends in technology. Twitter attracts a lot of Web-savvy users, many of whom are developing services that enhance Twitter -- like a search engine and a round-up of the most talked-about topics. Twitter's definitely not for kids, though -- especially if it continues to be hands-off in enforcing its Terms of Service.

I would personally recommend this book for people ages 15–18.

I left my Tweeter because Microsoft Team(MT) on Tweeter, an agent from Microsoft Corp, collects Followers by interfering with and threatening tweeters with until they follow MT. This is how MT collect Followers.

Twitter has become an advertisement platform where they will force an advertisement on your feed after every 3 tweets and forget about your personal interest twitter does not care about your interests at all as they are just using each subscriber to push ads on them just to get pay of them. Instead of paying TWITTER to see less ADs (which is a very false option) We should STAY AWAY from TWITTER until ELON MUSK puts in place a shared revenue system where subscribers will get pay to accept to be invaded with ads and accept to sell their private info because twitter will indeed sell your information to 3rd parties regardless if you agree to that or not. OPEN YOUR EYES!

Twitter has moderation and banning policies in place that favour pro-russian trolls. These trolls - mainly from russia and africa - say the most horrendous things on twitter, and no one bothers them. But if you contest what they say, you are quickly banned. I'm guessing that these trolls have a system of 'mass reporting' anyone who speaks out against russia's warmaking to twitter's moderation system, which automatically reacts with a ban.

I've also noticed that these pro-russian trolls tend to 'trap' people by posting tweets and comments that a person who is against russia's war will tend to react to, and then provoking them into making replies that will get them banned.

All in all, it results in an online environment that is increasingly pro-russian.

But more than this, twitter responds to any reported tweets with 'punishments' - it bans you, for a day, for a few days, for a week.

For speaking. It bans you for speaking.

I believe that this directly - directly - violates the right to free speech. I have got banned three times, and each time, I did not use abusive language. Moderation was entirely arbitrary, and punishments meted out in an arrogant and dictatorial manner.

An arrogant platform, by its very arrogance and authoritarianism, assisting the propaganda of the warmongering dictatorship that is russia.

Considering I was banned for saying the killer of Molly Tibbets deserved the death penalty in reply to a court TV tweet I am a bit upset to have been banned for targeted abuse simply because I believe in the death penalty and it existence in reality.

Twitter sucks!
October 28, 2020

I dislike Twitter, because it hasn't been reported all the news. Twitter is prejudiced. Stoped the news from New York Post. You are not impartial in the election. That's the heart of it.

Don't bother
February 18, 2021

As much as the mainstream media pushed Twitter as a great form of socializing, don't waste your time. This platform is really out of control with its censorship of conservative/christian views. Just because a few of their "higher up" representatives don't agree with everything, it doesn't give them the right to ban users. Twitter claims to be a network that promotes free-thinking. One where people can hear both sides and start to develop their own opinions. It's everything opposite of that statement and worse. They'll speak against discrimination and everything else, but they're the first to promote striking down voices they don't agree with. Can't say enough how disgusting it is to see so-called trends like "goodriddance" and "rotinhell" (in reference to Mr. Limbaugh's death). I don't care what you feel about a person's political views, no way should that have been allowed. Twitter seems to promote the low-life toxic users though (such as pedophila that was deemed acceptable by policy). I hope their down spiral continues. We don't need more division from you or your fake president. This has to be stopped.

I had an account with Twitter for over 5 years. It was a beautiful somewhat tribute page and a fun loving page. During the years my account had been compromised on a number of accounts and Twitter had always notified me and ask to confirm my email address. Once done i was back online. This last time they sent a vertification to my email address which happened to be compromised during the same period. I had contacted Twitter who kept referring me back to my email provider. Fast forward a year on( just recently). After not having much joy with trying to get my account back, i decided to create another. Within a day it was deactivated by Twitter who request to have my telephone number. Which i provided ( 2days later). I recieved an instant message saying " unsupported number" when i contact them - i hear nothing. 6 days on. Still nothing. Not so much as an acknowledgement to my complaint. A thoughtless disgusting company but yet they have my number. They have little or no regard for the people who use their services and adhere to their policies. If there is no profit to be made from your data, they do not care.
