Come to every tutoring session with a specific question(s) in mind. I thought this program was generally helpful with the questions I had. They used good technology and the chat service was quick and reliable. However, I stopped using it after the first month (because I didn't need help with the particular unit I was doing in class) and they continued charging me because I forgot to cancel the payment. Make sure you keep track of your payment and check your emails so you don't lose any money.

I ended up taking some pretty challenging courses this year and I found myself falling behind and just not finding the right amount of help from my school and that's when I stumbled upon this site! This site is PERFECTION! I can get help for subjects whenever I want which is really great because my schedule isn't always fixed. The tutors are kind and patient and very smart! It's great because sometimes face to face tutoring can be hard and intimadating because you feel like you don't want to ask a stupid question you should know the answer to. This site allows me to clear ALL my confusions no matter what and the tutors are very patient and help me understand topics. I was able to make an A in my math and science classes because of this site! The prices are also very affordable compared to other tutoring services. With all the really helpful technology such as the whiteboard and file sharing (and app!) it really makes it worth the price!

Most of the tutors are horrible... it is rare that my daughter finds a good one and when she finally does, they freeze up or get knocked offline... the best part? The scheduling system to try to get the rare "good one" back, doesn't work! Expect to get less than half of what you pay for. Customer service is horrible too. They push you and tell you you have 5 minutes to use their promotions. They also say they will credit wasted time but they do not. And don't give them your phone number because they will call and harass...

TutorVista has a nice responsive staff, cheap pricing, logged sessions for you to replay, and a tiny amount of good tutors. That's where it all ends.

Most of the tutors are terrible and awful. Especially in the multivariable calculus section, they are not qualified to teach. E. g a basic three part questions involving converting rectangular coordinate triple integral to spherical and cylindrical took 65 minutes. We weren't even able to complete the last two parts of the question. The tutor made many mistakes throughout that got me wondering why he was a tutor in the first place (E. G write the pythagorean thereom as z^2 = sqrt(a^2+b^2)), really? Many of the times I was there to catch the mistakes this "tutor" was making, but it left me wondering if there were any mistakes he was making. Many times I kindly emphasized that I wanted to speed things up, or things were going too slow, but these tutors like to squeeze you dry like your high school girlfriend.

The tutors in the calculus have no idea about Taylor Series. The Tutors in the "Discrete Math" section have no clue about solving matrices, or even questions from a first year proof course.

I was only able to find two tutors who knew their material well, one highly experienced in every topic in physics, and another one in every topic with discrete math / proofs. This was the highlight of my sessions. These two tutors were able to answer every problem I had and explain it to me in a way I understand. It took my a LONG time to find and favorite tutors such as these for future sessions. But I still could not find a decent tutor for calc that wasn't completely full of $#*!.

Moral of the story: Don't waste your time on this site people. The tutors are highly unqualified and you will experience issues with their explanations. It's LEGIT, the site is definitely not a scam site and the staff is always responsive, the sessions are always logged, but the lack of qualified tutors and slow response time make it a deal breaker.

I signed up for this service to help with my college calculus class. The kind that would normally be covered in AP Calc BC. After I signed up, the tutors were passive agressive and made stinging little jabs like, "kindly tell me which part you didn't understand," and then finally telling me, "please make this sure [sic] with another tutor as I am not much sure [sic] with this." Would never in a million years have paid for this service had I known it would be this bad.

I think that TuorVista is probably a good tutor service for those wanting to do Statistics by hand. They're good at helping with traditional Statistics questions. They are not well equipped for Statistics used in Excel, R Programming, and the more modern requirements.

I find the whiteboard tool helpful but not sufficient since there's no voice option, just chat. I did not give it higher than 3 because there's still some improvements that need to be done with regard to communicating the information more effectively and efficiently. It's not a classroom setting so quick and effective communication is vital.

Most of the tutors are really great and the technology is really good. If you have a rough time with writing certain symbols on the keyboard you have the option of using the whiteboard. Although the mouse pad on the laptop occasionally has flukes with the pencil option it usually works well overall. Also, there are tutors available many hours of the day, evening, and morning. You can have help with homework or have a lesson planned for you on the spot or ahead of time.

TutorVista was one of the most reliable sites while taking my Probability and Statistics course! If it was not for me getting the help from the tutors, I would not have passed this class. The tutors explained each step thoroughly and made sure I understood the concepts before going to the next problem. Thank you so much TutorVista!

I've had several separate experience with TutorVista. The first experience with TutorVista was back in 2009. It was a wonderful experience, the sales, tutors, and other staff members were wonderful.

Recently, I had two experiences with TutorVista. The first sales person I came across was rude, irritated with my questions, and told me TutorVista did not have an essay reviewing option. The last experience was with a Tutor for English. This person took forever to respond during sessions and my half my time was wasted waiting on the tutor to respond.

Would I recommended it? Maybe! If you don't have anyone locally that can assist you, maybe consider it, but if you find a good tutor on tutorvista.com, flag them so you can schedule with that person. JUS491

Tutor Vista allows you to get help in anything that you need help in. And... if you don't need help then simply log onto TutorVista, select a topic and (either Language, Science or Math) and simply say that you want to learn more on a specific topic on a subject. I know I've done that a couple of times. I have nothing to do and all I do is log on and learn something new. Maybe something that we haven't covered at school but want to get a head start. That always helps. And I actually do see an improvement whereas I don't know about it prior to learning and sometimes things can get a little confusing. Especially as you enter higher grades. I think that it's not as important if you are in lower grades such as 1st thru 6th or 7th grade but after that I think you may need it. I've had it since 7th grade but haven't had the need to use it until this year. Entering 8th Grade.
I always get help in physics all the time and it actually does help. I see my classmates struggle but I've already gotten a preview of the item we are learning so honestly it has helped me

All the tutors I've had are able to get the correct answers for my questions, but only a few are able to explain concepts or steps in a problem where I am able to easily understand. So I stick with the tutors who can explain easily, and where they don't just GIVE the answer, but work through a problem with me. On the other hand, customer support is not always great. They say they will refund my minutes due to some technical issues on their site, but they don't keep their word half the time.
