When you search hotel by distance there distance information is wrong, This is the second time this has happened. False advertising trivago. Plus they advertise deals that don't exsist. Do your research trivago. Wont use the site again.
This is a message sent to the on avenue I could find for Trivago. Please read below. I've yet to receive a reply. I'll NEVER use a third party to book my reservations. I'll call directly to the source. I do have to say that Cancelon has bent over backwards trying to assist me, but can't give me a product they don't have and has never had in their inventory.
I booked through Trivago's website for a room at World Mark - Kingstown Reef. I have my confirmation to show this. I tried to call the support number shown on the confirmation letter to no avail. I was looking over my credit statement and noticed a charge that I wasn't familiar with. I called the # on the CC statement and got Cancelon. While on the phone I confirmed my reservations in detail. My confirmation from Trivago shows me stating in one place and they, Cancelon, have me booked in another hotel by the name of Blue Tree Resort. Now what if I have driven 7 hours and not been able to check in. I've tried to locate a telephone number for your company, Trivago, which all are not working. They, Canelon, are saying the problem must be on Trivago's end.

Loveeee the Crowne Plaza in White Plains NY! The manager Stevie-John was extremely nice and helpful. My boyfriend and I stayed for a night and Stevie upgraded our room for free and gave us free access to the 12th floor lounge. He answered every question we asked and helped us with everything we needed. My boyfriend and I stay here a lot and it's always a great experience when Stevie helps us! Highly recommend and the rooms are classy, clean, and definitely worth the money! Thank you Stevie!
Book a hotel paid in advance they cancelled saying that they couldn't get the room why take the money if you can't get the room will not use them again
We put in a date that was one day before we were actually arriving. Oops. We called to correct it and after waiting on the phone for almost an hour they said they would charge us 99$ to change the date. How is that good customer service and why would you penalize someone for a simple human mistake?
I recently booked a trip to on Trivago (with Travelocity). The price that shows on the Trivago site was not what I was charged. Somewhere between the nice attractive price on Trivago and my credit card the daily rate rose 72% from $85 to $146. The hotel charged me more because I had 4 guests and the base rate was based on 2 guests. This happened in spite of me performing a search for a family with the correct number of guests on trivago.ca. The Trivago service is good but everyone please be aware that the pricing is not accurate!
Trivago completely messed up my reservation and once I arrived at the hotel (they had the wrong date thank you Trivago!) the hotel said they had nothing to do with the TRIVAGO reservation and I would have to call them. No telephone number was given, I had to do it online. It was late I was exhausted and I couldn't change the reservation. I was unable to do anything until I checked in. I will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.
Been using Trivago for many years. It is easy to use (nice interface). Never had any issues with a booking I made (even though Trivago is not reven responsible for that because it is a price comparisson website, duh!) 5STARS!
I thought I was getting a good deal on this hotel room. It said the address of the hotel was in the same area as the venue we are going to. I live in the area so I know the location. However, after I booked the room it showed up as a different location 20 min away. Which was bad really bad! I don't have money to waste! I thought I was doing something good on trivago, but I was wrong very wrong. Not only did it lie about the location the website that I booked it though was out of the country and not a legitimate website. My credit company is in the process of giving me all the money back. Horrible website and apparently trivago doesn't look into the sites it refers customers to. Nobody wants to take responsibility. Bad! Would get 0 stars if possible.
I live in Australia. Booked accommodation on Trivago 4holiday at Tweed Heads.
Paid deposit.Travel docs received, looked legite.
Rang Resort confirmed booking paid balance. Got confirmation documentation.
On check in, advised by Resort there was no reservation, it had been cancelled (4days after I paid balance).
Resort provided me with emails from booking company. No cancellation emails were sent 2us.
Trivago is an umbrella site advertising lots of booking sites. Some are legite but others are overseas companies set up 2 scam u out of yr money. During this process my booking has gone thru Trivago / Need It Now / Hotelbeds.com / Sembo / Stena Line Travel. Despite numerous emails to the booking sites the only response I've rec'd is 4me 2 phone an emergency line in Spain! I tried once & was advised on a recording the number is out of service. (Funny that... of course it is!)
We've lost $1900. You never think it will happen 2 u because the whole process looks legite... you're on Trivago right... they're advertised on TV. I've previously booked on Trivago & not had a problem. But this latest experience is frustrating & hugely disappointing & $$.
Some bastard/s behind the scenes is stealing $$ thru dodgy travel sites.
Since this happened 2 days ago I've read a lot about other's experiences & unfortunately we're not alone. I've sent an email 2 Trivago & am waiting a response. From other's accounts it appears Trivago knows of the scams but doesn't help because... IDK... maybe they're getting a good cut of yr money above normal commission?!
I'm f#*! Ing annoyed.
Use Trivago Map to see what's where but then ring the accommodation place direct. You'll find out if there's a 'real vacancy' & prob get a cheaper deal. Happy Holidays:-)

I do not recommend Southern Cross Motel for the price can get better deals with in the area too many problems
Police are always checking to see if drugs and prostitutes are working for this place.
Receptionist was rude police are always traveling through this hotel because of the drugs A man was on ice and the police arrested him just terrible For my family to witness wouldn't booked this hotel again thanks for reading
They give comparison to other website, but you often find the best deal going directly to the hotel's website or call to speak to agents.
I wrote to Trivago asking them question about Otel.com that is included on their site. It took me 7 full days to hear back from them. I had already finished all my bookings via booking.com by then.
Marc and I are so grateful to have had our wedding event at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel. We had a wonderful, great customer service, professional team at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel. Special thanks to Alfred Ayoub, Benjamin Bruckert, Food and beverage Services Manager, Caroline Cote, Event Manager, Lindsey, Manuela, and The Chef who was very exceptional to put together a menu tailored to our needs.
Everyone went above and beyond to help us. We received wonderful feedback from family and friends on how lovely the room was arranged, the view and most importantly how the great was the food. The services was impeccable. We have and will continue to recommend Ottawa Marriott Hotel to everyone.
I also didn't realise I wasn't dealing direct with TRIVAGO booked Crown casino Melb back in April, money sent through hoteling.com. Arrived from Qld into Melb to find no booking was ever made, my money was gone, as Crown advised Hoteling, com had gone belly up in July.
Nothing from TRIVAGO to advise of this. Surely you must be liable for using this company, held my money for 3 months before going under. Seemed like a great deal at the start, thanks for the nightmare. Will be telling others to avoid
I used Trivago for the first and last time. I didn't understand they are only a referral service and don't make the reservation themselves. Add to that they don't stand behind the company they send you to. I selected a hotel from the Trivago map and completed the reservation process only to find that the reservation was made in a motel in a different State. To add insult to injury, I was billed for the room. I found out when I looked for a resolution on the Trivago FAQ that this is not an uncommon occurrence. Since both Trivago and the booking companies are in Europe we have little recourse.
Firstly, I didn't like the reviews from users about this site. But lately these ads are pissing me off. Anytime you open any video online you get this ad so irritating. I hate this name trivago. I hope that company goes down so they stop the ads.
Answer: The bottom line is good luck with that. Nobody cares and they may email you back but nothing will happen and i guarantee if you gave someone money for a service it is gone forever. There are so many rip off sites related to Trivago it is unreal.
Answer: Dear Michelle, Thank you for your message and I would be happy to help. Depending on the booking site you choose to make your reservation with (ex. Expedia, booking.com, Agoda etc.) you may be required to prepay for the booking in full, an authorization (hold) on your credit card may be placed, or you may have to simply pay upon check out at the hotel. I would suggest reading the policy of the particular booking site you use, to see how their payment process works. As trivago is a hotel meta-search, meaning users can search and compare different hotels and prices on our site, we pull information from multiple OTAs (online travel agencies such as Expedia or Booking.com) and display the prices together. However, once a user clicks through to book a room, they are directed to the appropriate booking site which provides that price to complete reservation and payment details. Trivago doesn't actually have any involvement in the making of the booking. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Kind regards, James Morrison Trivago user support.
