Dear Christine,

Thank you for taking the time to post a question. Apologies for the delay in our response.

Should you ever have an issue with your hotel search on trivago you can also contact us directly at info@trivago.com or refer to the FAQs on our website for immediate information - http://company.trivago.com/support/

It is important to bear in mind that as a hotel search, trivago is not involved in the booking process between the user, the online travel agent and the hotel.

Trivago keeps no records of the transactions made through the booking sites and cannot alter or access your booking in any way. In order to make any changes, cancel, or confirm a reservation, you need to contact the booking site which you used.

On trivago, users can search and compare different hotels and prices on our site. We pull information from multiple OTAs (online travel agencies) and display the prices together. However, once a user clicks through to view deal, they are directed to the appropriate booking site which provides that price to complete reservation and payment details. Trivago doesn't actually have any involvement in the making of the booking.

Hotels distribute discounted rates to multiple booking sites which are usually under the normal BAR or sell rate which can be booked directly at the hotel. What trivago does is simply displays them all together, in one place, for users to compare and choose from. Our main purpose is to help users find their ideal hotel.

We function as a portal for hotels to advertise themselves, as well as a meta-search for booking sites to display their rates and increase the traffic to their companies. Our main goal is to help people find that particular ideal hotel to fit their needs, then they can book it however they choose.

We hope that the above clarifies what trivago is and how our free hotel comparison site works.

Should any of you need any further assistance please do get in touch with us through the above means.

Kind regards,
James Morrison

The bottom line is good luck with that. Nobody cares and they may email you back but nothing will happen and i guarantee if you gave someone money for a service it is gone forever. There are so many rip off sites related to Trivago it is unreal.

I really don´t know. What i do know is that if you have a problem with a hotel site listed on Trivago they will deny all responsibility. Claiming a position as a "middleman"So if you book a room on the hotel site "Quicky Night Rooms" and they are based In Yemen that is where you have to go for redress. One of the most reliable web sites is "Hotels.com" They also offer a toll free 800 phone number and a price match gaurantee

It is virtually impossible to post negative direct to them. They are out of country and not at all interested in you. I had 90 days of emails and other coorespondence that never resolved the billing issue. Finally I had to get my bank and credit card company involved. I got my reimbursement for their incompetence. They do read the negative postings though. Keep it up!

Hi Christine and all of those on this page.

I did not review Trivago, i reviewed accommodation, Trivago was just the
Vehicle. I write honest, genuine reviews to help others, if there is something
That i feel strongly about and do not want to deceive others then i will include
It to be fair. I can find plenty of things in the world to gripe about,
Important things rather than just having a whinge about a site. I also have much
More to do than sit in front of a screen. If people are dissatisfied can i
Suggest that they inform the business in person, or do some voluntary work and
Get it out of your system, there are plenty in need.

Regards
Estelle
