I booked a hotel during the Texas Winter Storm recently and i was unable to stay there due to severe road conditions. The Manage Booking option online would not allow me to cancel the hotel booking indicating that the charge was nonrefundable. I contacted customer service and the agent had rehearsed and scripted reasons for every comment I made to get my money refunded. What a shame taking advantage of winter storm victims.

Worst Experience!

I made a booking and they made my wife's name inverted in reverse order. When I reach out to trip.com they came back saying it is not possible to fix it at their end and I need to reach out to Vistara (airlines). When I reached out to Vistara (airlines) they say it needs to be fixed by trip.com.
When I ask trip.com to change it, they want to me to cancel the booking and book a new ticket. Whole thing feels like a big scam. Why do I need this kind of stress couple of days before my travel. Please stay away from this site.

Takes 2 minutes to purchase a ticket for them to debit you, but it takes 30-120 days to refund you if there is a cancellation. They also don't give a full refund they a 75% refund even with cancellation insurance.

Trip.com stole my money!
I disputed part of my booking with trip.com with my bank as I was charged the wrong price, so trip.com cancelled my flight but kept the $1,700 I paid for the flight, they said if I cancel my charge back they'll refund me, so I did and now they won't refund me.
I'm now trying to get my stolen money back through my bank.
It's a scam of a compan

I bought tickets for my family I made a mistake with the date. They are refusing to refund me even though the date of the ticket is still a week away before the date I supposed to go. This is a rip off site! Don't purchase your trips here if you made a mistake with the date or need to change the date for what ever reason they are not going to change the date or refund you, you are screwed!

Buyer Beware!

This is a company based out of China. If you book hotels or anything through them and you can no longer use the services they will keep ALL of your money! No cancellation fees just keep ALL of your money. I paid for a $200 hotel stay for 2 days and was hospitalized so I called the hotel to cancel and they wanted to cancel the reservations immediately but I went through trip.com. They refunded my money back to trip.com and after sending in all verification asked by trip.com they still kept ALL of my money and said the hotel never refunded them. The Hilton Hotel said they refunded trip.com immediately. It's been a month and they still refuse to refund me any of my money. Stay far away from this company! Buyer Beware!

Trios.com is a ripoff

Unbelievable!

Do not book with Trip.com! This Is the absolute worst site to Book any travel through! I booked a room June 29,2020 to a Hotel outside of Atlanta to only realize a few minutes later that the booking was in the wrong Hotel. I Called their customer service and immediately tried to cancel the room. I was told that my request would be sent to the review board and see if they could refund my money back to Discover. On July 8th I saw the charge on my card and called them back to see why. I was told ooh Sorry, so sorry we can not refund your money. I said why. And he told me that they decided it was non refundable. An absolute waste of time talking to that person. All he kept saying is Oh sorry! I will NEVER book anything with them again! If I could give zero stars I would! Save your time and book with a reputable company that works with their customers and wants repeat business. I travel a lot, this was the first time using them and the last.

I booked my trips via Trip.com in early 2020 but due to COVID, the flight was cancelled. Submit my refund request on the same year but till now, still haven't get my refund. Empty promises on refund being made by Trip.com again and again. Even to my surprise, when I tried to search for my booking number after login to Trip.com, it was magically and shockingly disappeared. Luckily I still kept my email conversation with them. Tried email them also no reply. Call them and they will keep telling you because of COVID the volume has increased and will take long time to process. I guess may need to take 20 years to process.

So my sincere advice is, try to avoid using Trip.com for your booking. They have been provenly proved unreliable. During good time, they just want your business and during bad time, they are the first one to run away from you.

Booked a room at hotel in Columbus, Ohio. Get there and the reservation had been cancelled due to a problem with plumbing issues at hotel. Was never notified and I had to go to another hotel. The hotel would not give me my money back and said that it would be refunded to Trip.com. Now Trip.com will NOT credit my credit card for the cancelled room. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company, But they have said that Trip.com will NOT provide them the information or allow the claim to be settled.

I booked a trip to Mexico and mistakingly put in the wrong date. I contacted Amber the next morning and they told me I was beat. The reservation that I made has still not happened and they had a chance to easily change it, instead they took my money And stood by their one way policy.

I mistakenly booked a hotel through this company. Due to circumstances beyond my control, we had to check out a day earlier than expected. The hotel told me that I would need to contact Trip.com for any refund which I did. They in turn asked me if I had contacted the hotel! Trip.com then tried to tell me that the hotel wasn't responding to their calls. Funny, they answered me on my first attempt. Then it was they had to contact their supplier but couldn't since they were in China and it was 2 am there. I did not know that this was a Chinese company or I would have never used them. If you have any issues regarding getting your unused money back if you have to change your plans for unexpected reasons, you are out of luck using this company. There are too many other booking companies that are legit here in the US that can be used to risk your money and enjoyment on your trip to even consider this booking company. STAY AWAY!

A travel agency operates in an unecthical policies with irresponsible staff!
They are excellent in advising customers to approach Airlines for help even it is their respnsibilty to resolve the air ticket issues.

Trip.com's hotel prices appear to be lower in comparison. However, buyer beware. Once you finalize the payment they will sneak in an added "tax" although it's not tax. It's much higher. My room was advertised at $90nt. I booked for 2nts. I was charged almost $225. CA hotel tax is 14% so the total should have been about $205. When I called to ask why I was charged another $20 the call center which is contracted outside of the US, tells me it's for an accommodation fee, blah blah fee, rip you off under your nose & hope you don't notice fee. None of these extra fees are mentioned during your booking or check out! Offered no apology, or refund for their deception. A supervisor was supposed to call me back in 15min. Never happened. Shady company in my opinion. I won't use them again.

Booked prize freeze and then tried booking the same flight after 2 days. However, They locked my account AND did not let me book the flight saying prices have risen. And that is exactly why the feature called price freeze exxist. Right? And I had it but still couldnot buy the ticket. Customer support told me to wait until upper management calls me back at 7 pm. Its 1:14 am and im still on hold. Wish I could give ratings in minus and warn others about this scam company. The most terrible chat and call experience I have ever had. Almost wasted my 4 hours worth of time for calling and being on hold from these trip.com cheaters.

Zero for customer success and support experience.
100 for designing hidden policies and terms to scam its customers.

Don't ever book with these people. Out of country call centre staffed by utterly incompetent staff who keep giving contradicting information. My flight was cancelled by the airline and they lied and said there were no available flights to rebook me on for two weeks. Forced me to take a refund or lose my money. I have screengrabs showing dozens of flights to my destination listed on their site every day. Took a load of one star reviews on social media to even get them to say they're issuing a refund. I'm going to miss an important event because they outright broke the law. They operate out of China so think they can ignore UK/EU laws. Won't provide records of the information they have on me either, even though I made a request (another legal requirement). If anything goes wrong with your booking with trip.com they will not help you. Do not book with them no matter how cheap they are.

I booked a roundtrip flight Oakland CA-Vancouver BC. Flight was via L. A CA! Included layovers, changed terminals etc, no through checked bags. Decided it was way too stressful during covid, so tried to cancel. Managed to do so, accepted the loss, found a far better flight. None of this was good or easy, but did it mostly myself. Consequently, I've since received about 8 emails from different service reps, and 7+ calls, including 5 calls between 10-11 pm local time waking me up! Seriously? You'd think an international travel agent would have service reps that can calculate local global time zones, but apparently not Trip.com. I'll never use them again.
