We love getting our boxes. The food is usually good and even when it isn't it's still interesting to try and see our reactions. The only issue have been over shipping during the COVID pandemic so it been a lot more expensive.
Different themes each month packed with yummy sweets from Japan! Always a delight and surprise! From well know Japanese sweets to some very unusual yet interesting sweets you can only get from Japan! Thank you Tokyo Treat!
Are you an anime fan like me, but always feel
Something is missing? Well this is perfect to fill that missing hole in your heart! It make any anime date night, anime show night perfect! Also makes a perfect gift!
At first when I began my subscription I felt it may be something that I try for a while and then stop. I wouldn't even dream of stopping my Tokyo Treats now! Each month an exciting chance to try new things and enjoy tasty goodies from the other side of the world. Tokyo Treat is excellent and I welcome everyone to come and try the service.
Tokyo Treat subscription box is one of the best purchases I've made. They put in a lot of effort on their selection, marketing, their style in graphic design, and establishing a community out of love for Japanese candies and goods. I'm on my 10th box now and I'll be receiving more.
As others stated, this company will renew your package to a year at a time without your consent and auto bills the payment you have set to buy your first box. This doesn't have a warning, just the receipt after they take it. So tread carefully and cancel the subscription after your purchase to keep the boxes coming but not risk a unexpected auto subscription (bought 3 months, they put me on a year. No refund)
Best part of opening the treat box was seeing all the various sweets. Pulling one by one out and seeing the surprises. I got a marshmallow cone and was very surprised when I ate end first and was taken off guard by the sour powder before eating the marshmallow. So much fun and I 100 percent would recommend!
I've had other snack boxes and nothing quite compares to TokyoTreat. Along with good customer support who actually care about customer satisfaction, this is a no-brainer for people interested in Japanese snacks. :)
Worst customer service team, I ran Into a terrible box that had open food and was damaged. During these critical time of consumer health safety they refused a refund or reshipment. I stated I'd continue my business else where and the company didn't cancel my subscription, charging me $45 additional $'s. I contacted their support again to request a stop shipment and refund and they denied me again for a refund. I was Forced to take it up with my bank for a refund.
The snacks in the box are also so small in comparison to the price you pay, at a traditional Japanese grocery store these items might total $12 but they're turning around and selling the same products for $35 without free shipping which runs at $10 per box.
Having been to Japan I really miss the vending machines and food in general there. Tokyo treat offers a great selection the only down side is that you will come across something you love but then struggle to get it again. I'm still bitter about trying to taste a limited edition choc mint tea from Kirin. They used to include a small gift like a magnet or pen. This is expensive and only signed up for the Halloween edition again..
I always enjoying getting a Tokyo Treat box. My friend put me up to trying one, and I love getting them now, whenever I have a little extra money! The treats are delicious and fun, and the drinks (for Premium) are interesting and neat. I would highly recommend them (but be sure to consider adding tracking. They will only reimburse one lost box).
Has boxes shipped out in April and May. Now the end of July and still have nothing.
TokyoTreat will also charge you as they see fit for extra "express shipping costs" which you cannot refuse. These are supposed to ensure the parcel arrives in 10-14 days, but its now 3 months since the May box was shipped and 4 months since April box was shipped so clearly that was a scam.
Have contacted TokyoTreat multiple times about this, however they have said point blank that they will NOT refund me, give me vouchers, send a new box or anything. They take no responsibility for the lost parcels or scam shipping costs. Am now having to go through Paypal to get money back.
I truly cannot tell you strongly enough to absolutely avoid this company at all costs. I have never has to deal with such a terribly company ever before.
The strawberry ginza was beyonnddd incredible, best thing in all boxes so far
They have issues labeling packages sometimes because customs fee varies a loot from a few cents to 17 euros, they need to sort that out.
But overall love the subscription box and stuff in it,only the customs are my issue.
Didn't really care for the products, many cheap products. When I tried to cancel they still charged me for another month and refuse to refund even though they never shipped anything. Some items were damaged. They offered no recourse for damaged items.
I ordered a box at the end of March 2020, and as of today 10 September it still hasn't arrived. The company has used every excuse under the sun. Blaming Covid, blaming Canada Post, telling me to wait two more weeks, wait another month. They also stole money out of my account for "priority" shipping after I had already paid for the box. The refuse to do anything. HUGE scam. Avoid!
This company is so dishonest. I paid for September box in August and never received it only to go on Reddit and see that this is a regular occurrence where people don't receive their boxes and never get refunds just some automated mail from your customer service. I wouldn't recommend anyone purchasing from these people. They're scam artists.
I haven't been able to go to the Japanese market for snacks as much as I'd like so this box was a great alternative! I love the booklet that comes with the snacks so I have a better idea of what I'm trying. Definitely makes Japanese snacks more accessible!
Hello! This was my first box, not bad, I loved it! And especially the kitkat chocolates, fascinating! It would be very good if 1 toy or 1 accessory of all those snacks arrived, so the box would be much more cute!
Everything lived up to be what I expected it to be and more. I loved every snack and the soda. Wow! The soda was amazing! I'm so glad I bought this box and I will definitely buy more in the future. I recommend anyone who's thinking about buying one to go for it because it's honestly a really good insight to Japanese treats for a low price.
I'm getting a chance to try these new flavors and pushing my tasting palette! The flavors are so on point but also can get kinda crazy. It makes snacking much more fun and I'm eating food from convenient stores in the country that I want to live in someday!
Answer: It is one of the worst ones out there. If anything goes wrong they refuse any sort of customer service. No refunds, no placements even if the box never arrives.
Answer: It usually takes days to get a response & only through email. Quite frustrating.
Answer: I've always been a fan of Japanese culture. I've purchased Japanese treats before at conventions and loved them. I regret choosing TokyoTreat though.
