The company enjoys a generally positive reputation for its unique subscription boxes filled with a delightful variety of Japanese snacks, praised for their quality and reliable, fast shipping. Many customers appreciate the thematic approach and informative booklets included with each box, enhancing their experience. However, concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly issues related to auto-renewals and a lack of responsive support when problems occur. While many customers express satisfaction with the product, frustrations about billing practices and inadequate assistance suggest a need for improved customer service protocols to enhance overall satisfaction.

The KitKat and poki were tasty, and the drink was an amazing experience. We are waiting for new box's and different taste
Snacks range from sweet to savory, sour to spicy. And all you can only get from Japan. Amazing box! Plus ramen!
Thank you for March box! It's amazing! The snacks came fresh and yummy! The blueberry Pocky was my favorite snack
I paid sakuraco 6 boxes to deliver to my parents as a present and from 4 boxes shipped only 1 was received. I tried to cancel and get a refund but Tokyo Trear said they didnt want to give me my money back. This is a scam. Don't hire their services. You won't get the packages and they don't care at all.
I did the one month subscription to see what this was all about. The box was great but definitely not worth the price you pay. After a month, I saw a new charge on my card. I tried logging into my account and it would not let me. It took me over 30 minutes to log in. Apparently, if you don't confirm your address you cannot access your account and therefore cannot cancel your membership. I received NO update that they were going to charge me. Most companies will send you a reminder if they are going to charge you. As soon as I saw the email, I messaged customer service. It took them over 24 hours to get to me and then they said they could not refund it. The box wasn't even shipped out! Absolutely ridiculous, lack of care for their customers, just another business that only cares about money. Save your time and your money.
I originally subscribed for a year. The boxes are definitely not worth the money they charge. There have also been boxes where items were not available and were not sent. The main reason for my 1 star rating is that they auto renew your subscription without any heads up. I was not aware of this. I emailed several times to tell them I did not authorize the payment (even though I had cancelled) and requested a refund. There is absolutely no reason I should be stuck with another year of this subscription. It is a complete waste of money for what they actually send.
Really loved the box of this month.
As usually the treats were diverse and tasty!
I recommend it
The box is great and it is loaded with a lot of items. It also came just in time for Valentine's Day, which was a lot of fun. I do wish the monthly cost was cheaper or you didn't have to pay for each month right away, if you select a 6 month term.
Amazing candies, chips and variety! I love when a box has a good amount of chocolate and salty things.
Great Variety of snacks, drinks, chocolates and noodles
Will be keep buying more ……
Different items every time
I think that the treat box is a fun way to experience a small taste of Japan, the box offers a good variety of different types a snacks to try ranging from sweet to savory. The snacks you get are full sized, making them easy to share. You also get a small lunch item too, like a ramen or somen cup. The pamphlet that comes with the snacks is super nice because it explains all of the snacks that you get and has fun little tidbits on Japan going with whatever theme the box is for the month.
I ordered TokyoTreat for the first time and I was impressed by how fast was the delivery, and the sweets were delicious. I was the best Christmas gift that I received from myself.
Love the KitKat as well as the drink. I have to say all the snacks were all tasty. So far the December 2022 Tokyotreat was okay. It mostly had mini snack instead of actual savory snack. That just opinions tho.
Great idea, however I accidentally signed up for the wrong subscription plan for one year instead of one month. I didn't realize until the payment posted on my creditcard statement. I immediately cancelled, because that subscription is hundreds of dollars. However, because the statement posted days later, it was outside the business policy of 48hrs with a strict no refund, final sale policy. It was an honest mistake, but have had no luck with disputing the purchase with my cc company or tokyotreat. Just poor customer service from tokyotreat, and overall bad business model that shows greed and zero empathy. Really frustrated that they ended up stealing money from me when any other company would be willing to at least give me a portion of my money back. They gladly cancelled my plan, but still will be sending the remaining boxes (that i dont want) and keeping my money. Would not recommend this company to anyone. Buy elsewhere, and ignore the endorsements from nyt and usatoday toward this company.
It's good way to try new food culture without having to travel to Japan. Shipping can take some time but it's worth it
The strawberry ginza was beyonnddd incredible, best thing in all boxes so far
They have issues labeling packages sometimes because customs fee varies a loot from a few cents to 17 euros, they need to sort that out.
But overall love the subscription box and stuff in it,only the customs are my issue.
It was amazing I loved each description of the treats and each was delicious I would definitely recommend this especially for someone who would just want to try it.
Answer: It is one of the worst ones out there. If anything goes wrong they refuse any sort of customer service. No refunds, no placements even if the box never arrives.
Answer: It usually takes days to get a response & only through email. Quite frustrating.
Answer: I had both TokyoTreat and a similar service at the same time, and I consistently found the value and variety of TokyoTreat to be better than the other subscription.
