I have been doing business with Tiger Direct, on and off, since 2008. All of my interactions with them have been positive. They offer a lot of computer-related products at reasonable prices. Honestly, not as good of deals like Amazon or Newegg, but still pretty good. They have sales and promotions running all the time, so you might find a nice deal on something you are looking for or maybe even make some impulse buys. The website is modern and laid out very well. Navigation and page loading speeds are both excellent. You can sign up for their newsletter to stay informed on all of their deals and promotions. For the most part, their shipping costs are reasonable and the time it takes to get your items is pretty quick. On the customer service side, I have had a great experiences in the few times or so that I have had to contact them about a problem or inquiry. They helped me out in a very satisfactory manner. Whether you are a casual or hardcore PC builder/enthusiast, Tiger Direct is a good option to satisfy your computing needs.
I ordered a laptop from TigerDirect about a week ago, and my god was the service TERRIBLE. I ordered the laptop and received an email confirmation with an order number on it. I checked the order number every day to make sure everything was in order, and I began to get suspicious why my laptop was not being shipped yet, so I called customer service. They said that the laptop would be shipped the next day and I will receive my tracking number for my package. The day passes and the laptop is still in their "third party warehouse". I call the day after that to check again, and I get hung up on in the middle of my call by TWO representatives, and before that I was on hold for around 30 minutes on both. I called a THIRD representative just to get a refund. The refund WAS quick, and it was the amount I paid them though. I have worked with friends' and coworkers' laptops from TigerDirect, and they are great quality, but their customer service definitely needs some work.
I have order confirmation, because price error cancel my order, no email contact, glad bless them business for closing.
The best computer hardware store that I have interacted with so far. I dod not think that they oiuld have hardware copatible with my computer. As it turns out, they actually did and I made my order. There was a lot to choose from and that made it better for me.
I spent over $1,200 at this site 3 months ago and they won't even post my reviews of the TD-610 iBUYPOWER computer (fantastic!) or the benQ monitor I bought w/the warranty. My keyboard shipped defective. IBUYPOWER resolved it. But every time I call Tiger, the rep on the phone uses boilerplate "Talk-Offs" to get me off the phone as soon as possible so Tiger can keep their call volume high. It's all about production, you know? Forget the needy fool on the other end of the line. Don't ever expect Tiger to do anything for you except - Pass The Buck - & tell you that you need to take your problem somewhere else.
The site has really low prices on electronics, which is why I use it, however, I notice that some of the parts I get are DOA or dead on arrival. They do replace DOA parts though, so I can't complain that much. It doesn't happen a lot, but enough that it has become a nuisance in the past.
BOUGHT GREAT DELL COMPUTER... WON'T LIGHT MONITOR, NEVER HAS, CALLED SERVICE TAG PH NUMBER - NO ANSWER LEFT MSG REPEATEDLY, CALLED TIGERDIRECT WAS TOLD ITS OUTSIDE 30 DAYS --TRYING TO GET MONEY BACK THRU PAYPAL TIGERDIRECT HAS RESPONDED TO THEM LIKE I'M AN IDIOT & HOW DARE I WANT MY MONEY BACK AFTER ALL THEY PUT 30 DAYS RETURN IN THE FINE PRINT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE ---MY TOUGH LUCK ----MUST HAVE LOTS OF CUSTOMERS CAUSE THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THEM
I recommend TigerDirect because they have always been very good and handled my orders promptly and their products are high quality. I will continue to buy from them. Thank you.
If your order is good, you will be fine. If there is an issue, don't even try. In the past month, I have called and emailed and called and emailed and even given the email of a manager. NOTHING has been done. They simply don't respond. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM! We are now the proud owners of a piece of equipment with no faceplate. It was delivered without a faceplate and it does not look like we will ever even get a response let alone a faceplate.
Cheats. Platinum membership is a big hoax. They steal your credit card information and automatically make payments for you. I don't know how they make it sound legally right.
Tiger Direct mostly sells products that are slightly out of date and past their prime. The prices are low because they are the "leftovers" or "end runs" from manufacturers who have stopped production in favor of newer, better products.
As long as you know this, and know that whatever you buy is not the latest technology, or has been replaced by an improved version, its fair enough. But then you must also contend with their customer service which is definitely "discount quality".
Being that the stock they sell has often been shifted around the warehouse a few times before finally getting out the door, it is often defective or broken. The challenge for the customer is to then get a repair or replacement. Tiger Direct will send you to the manufacturer, who will tell you the product is no longer supported. Take you pick: rock, hard place. With a bit of persistence, you might get one or the other to eventually make good on your purchase, but don't expect it to be easy. You chose a discounted item, and they will treat you as such.
Cant get to customer service. Now on the line for the second attempt and been waiting for a rep for 75 minutes.
They e-acknowledge that the order is sitting in their warehouse, but no one will free it up after many attempts to contact them (never could get anyone)
NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE (IF THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE)
They are stealing your money and sending no products
Just 400 miles away, in Southern California to Northern California, on days clear and 70 degrees.
Can't ship so a customer receives the order within a week?
Total bait and switch, and I am still dealing w them to get my money back. I bought a laptop that was suppose to have 8gb of ram and a 256GB ssd. What I got was inferior laptop w half the specs... when i tried to get the o acknowledge that the sent me the wrong item, they told i had to call sony... after repeatedly calling them them game me a rma to return the item... still no refund...
I purchased the HP Microserver from the Hewlett Packard website and somehow TigerDirect became the 3rd party seller. Im 40yrs old and this has become my worst buying experience. I do not recommend H. P. and i recommend avoiding TigerDirect.
As a Tech and small business owner Tiger Direct is my go to store. They have a knowledgeable staff, courteous, 98% of the time items are in stock and convenient. They get a thumbs up from me.
My experience was terrible and I would recommend not using them as they DO NOT VALUE CUSTOMERS. Bought a calculator, opened the box it was sent in, realized it was not a calculator, had to pay shipping and an unknown re-stocking fee. Go to Staples, Sears, Walmart... any place that values their customers. This is not the place
Love this site. I'm a sucker for their tech deals. They've got me hooked on the galaxy note series. My last purchase was a galaxy tab, during their holiday specials.
My mother-in-law just purchased a bare bones computer package. We received it, and built it. We are not computer illiterate, we've done this many times. Long story short... the power supply that came with the tower/box, was incompatible with the motherboard. After hours on the phone with customer service, tech reps (required by customer service), and ultimately a supervisor, the end result was a complete unwillingness to make the situation right and send a box/power supply that was compatible with the motherboard. The first "solution" was a $41 refund to return the box/power supply (selling online at $89.99), and we were on our own to find a replacement that would work with the motherboard that was in the package. I asked for a Supervisor at that point, told them this solution was unacceptable for me, and was told they were all busy, but one would call me back. After waiting over an hour with no returned phone call, I called again. I spoke with a Supervisor (after much difficulty to get transferred to one) and explained the situation, once again. There was zero understanding, even though the Company sold a non compatible item/package - that did not matter. "Solution #2" was finally a full refund. They chose to lose much business resulting from this, rather than make this right, which was of little cost to them. If you're buying a bare bones computer package deal from TigerDirect... look out, it may be the incompatible one I'm sending back.
EVERYTIME I MAKE AN ONLINE PURCHASE, I HAVE TO WAIT ALMOST A WEEK JUST TO CONFIRM MY ORDER, THEN WHEN I CALL IN THEY CAN'T FIND MY INFO IN THEIR SYSTEM... REALLY, AFTER SO MANY ELECTRONIC PURCHASES... BEST BUY HERE I COME.
