I think this is my first time ever writing a negative review for a company, because it was that bad.
I recently finished a 12-month advertising period with them and have nothing to show for it.
They also offer website services which I unfortunately used and it was a nightmare. Process was supposed to take 4 months, but it ended up taking 12. The website was so poorly done. Our blog page didn't even work after going live. Once they fixed that, we literally had a blog post on our website that was for some other company. They didn't catch those glaring mistakes and others during pre-launch or post-launch QC somehow.
I am Abby with All American Freight brokers. I am working on "Thomasnet" from couple of months and was able to get suppliers and manufacturers in my contact. The best thing which I love about this platform is I can search companies by applying filters like regions and product, which eventually lead me to my desired customers. I wish, in the future, may this platform have access to more data which in turn will be helpful to its users.
In today's fast moving manufacturing settings, it's not always possible to get the best price due to time constraints when needing supplies and specialty products. That is until I found ThomasNet! Thanks to them I can research pricing and companies all in one spot without the hassle of a deep search of the internet to make sure we are purchasing the right product from the right suppliers. I often recommend ThomasNet when asked where to search for supplies efficiently.
We paid them for a "year" advertising, website redesign, and SEO. After 4 months we had a new website, but the number of actual customers contacting us through our site is down over 75%? Our company has had a website for over 10 years and our inquires have cratered since Thomasnet has taken over. Now we are told the contract is for 18 months and we are still paying.
This company front loads all of their work, which is basically only building a website that can be done for a fraction of the price other places, and then coasts for the next 12-14 months. It has been a massive expense for our company with little or nothing to show for it. Huge mistake.
Hi Nick,
I'm sorry to hear of the challenges you've faced so far in working with Thomas. I checked with the team working on your account and understand there has been several conversations and recommendations to help turn things around. Your team is committed to optimizing your results and I encourage you to bring any additional concerns to them.

ThomasNet Team.
I've been using ThomasNet for decades in numerous supply chain roles with different companies.
Motorola, Nippon Sharyo, Sumitomo, Chamberlain and now Dayco to name a few.
ThomasNet continues to be an excellent resource and experience every time. The site is user friendly with plenty of tools at your disposal. I especially like the one click RFI feature, which sends my request to 5 suppliers at once.
Thank you,
Oscar
Thomas.net is an extraordinary website, and helps you easily navigate through the many list of companies and their contact info. As a broker, this is very helpful because you can research companies in your area, as well as your niche. Thank you Thomas.net, for this platform! It's very helpful.
I recently attended a virtual webinar hosted by ThomasNet. The webinar's host (Cathy) did a great job in presenting Thomas really well in explaining how to use the website. Every time my boss asks me to source something, I go to ThomasNet first.
Thank you for giving the buyers industry such a valuable tool.
I was originally lost on ThomasNet.com, there are so many companies and items to search through. I like the idea and knew it could be a valuable resource if I could figure out how to use it. Cathy Ma did a free webinar explaining everything I needed to know and really set me on a track of success to get linked up with the companies that could take our company to the next level. Thank you!
The site has a large amount of information on several companies. They list the companies size, sales, products, as well as contact information. The site also has a robust search feature to filter out, or in, to find a specific company with certain criteria. Their customer service is top notch. They have customer service to field general questions about the site, but also have engineers and quality technicians to answer any technical questions about materials, standards, products, processes, and anything else. Very helpful!
I've been using Thomasnet for a couple years and in my line of business, it's been a wonderful tool to help me identify and locate the perfect manufacturers for my needs. It's simple, easy to use and has been a big help to me and our firm.
The pros are that it's the most comprehensive site I've found that lists many manufacturers and suppliers for many types of markets. The issue I had is that many times when I'd reach out for quotes or inquiries from the manufacturers I wouldn't get a response. That's more on the individual manufacturers though.
Searching the site is easy and straightforward.
Pretty useful webinar. As expected, highly focused on using Thomas Net specifically, but there were some more broadly useful tidbits. Have to reduce a star due to the (as of yet unresolved) mess around trying to get my Nikes.
Their model works pre-internet now it's historic... This thing is as useful as blockbuster when netflix hulu are around. I do not recommend, money can be spent more appropriately using google ad words or web optimization. Check google trends and see how much this has fallen off. My parents used this back in the day. Get hip and avoid, way better alternatives for fractions of the price. Some sales rep is going to try and dismiss my claim, but these are just straight facts.
Find other alternatives. They will paint the perfect picture and tell you all you want to hear, don't fall for it. I was sold into a year contract and paid extra to show higher on searches. $3,000+ dollars later- not one customer and not even a CALL from a potential customer. Nevermind the fact that our company was struggling during the pandemic and owed 2 months of advertising expenses during this time, I tried speaking with their reps to agree on some sort of terms especially during the craziness and all I was told is they can not do anything for me and that my account would be sent to collections if I did not make a payment. (All while small business was in deep $#*! during the pandemic- they could offer no help) save your money, dont be sold by these con artist
First off I find it rather pathetic that Brendan O. Posts a review giving them 5 stars then Brendan O - (presumably the same person) responds as a Thomasnet rep two posts below. Sad day when you can't even keep your own deceptions straight. My company paid 800 a month for years to them and saw little or no return. When we put them on the spot and asked them to show what business they generated for us they sent us sales brochures. Total waste of time and money for us, annoyingly high pressure sales staff for their service, if their staff was half as annoying in trying to get us leads as get money from us we'd be a fortune 100 company!
Within a few short minutes, I was able to find a handful of qualified local suppliers. Through Thomas Net, I had access to their stats, industry, certifications, etc. Because of the information provided through their platform, within 2 days I had half a dozen returned quotes from businesses within an hour's drive of my facility. Also, it is great that I can compare suppliers and add them to my shortlist. Thomas helps keep a record of the research I have already done, so I don't have to repeat it!
There were some companies that appeared in my search that were not quite what I was looking for. However, if you are halfway decent at Google searches, you should be able to change your keywords slightly to get the information you need. Honestly, the time it took to cull the bad suggestions from the good ones was less than had I just Google searched for everything.
This company completely over sold and under delivered. We didn't get one single semi positive lead from using their service. We had to cancel the service part way through because of the sheer lack of leads, there were in fact zero of them.
ThomasNet has provided my company with a steady stream of new qualified buyers from all over world. We have been able to expand our customer base from regional to international in just the first few years. We find our advertising budget with ThomasNet to be money really well spent.
I work at a machining shop and we've had a ThomasNet account for years. It's been really big for us, we get at least a few calls a week. I'm surprised to see a lot of these negative reviews, I tend to doubt there validity to be honest, especially when there are no specifics. We are listed in all of the services we offer, and we tend to get some business from them pretty consistently. I would definitely recommend it.
This is a valuable service, as otherwise, I would not know where to go to locate manufacturers in the US - aside from using Google. Comprehensive site and simple to use. The only thing I would say from using the site numerous times, is that I have found that most suppliers do not respond to my enquiries! I have personally sent over 60 legitimate, qualified and quantified enquiries to manufacturers on Thomasnet, and could count on one hand how many responses I have had. Kind of makes you lose faith in it all. Something that could and should be improved, as I whilst I continue to use - I am not overly confident that it will result in any progress.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention and we appreciate the feedback on your experience. We aim to complete our website builds within four months, though we often find that clients need more time as other business priorities pop up and deliverables get delayed. Unfortunately that appears to be what happened in your particular case. If you believe you are still missing promised deliverables or feel there is an action we can take to improve upon what was created, please reach out to us at this address:
