Ordered a blow dryer set from Walmart, never knew it was 3rd party until I tried to get a refund{never opened the box}. Very unprofessional staff and also being told different things from different reps, just to get me off the phone. One lady said she see that it was delivered last week, I said yes so where is my refund. She said it will be processed tomorrow... called today and another rep said I don't see that we received it. I told her it shows delivered last week on the USPS website. I gave up communicating with incompetent people. I filed a complaint with my bank and with the BBB.
I bought a Babyliss straightener through Walmart from Ted's Electronics. I was very skeptical about purchasing when I saw nothing but bad reviews on the products they sell. My product was delivered with no problems and my straightener works amazingly also got a great deal on the price. Retail for the straightener runs $180. I paid before taxes $130 plus free shipping and came with prima 2000 for free. The diminutive version of the prima 3000. So thanks Ted's Electronics.
The company owners are scam artists. I ordered a used lens from them, which arrived damaged, and forgot to send back the case it came in when I returned it.
Because of a missing used cover (purchasable new for 50.00) they charged me 347.50. A 20% restocking fee, i immediately contacted the seller and was told in writing that as soon as they received the case they would process the refund. I shipped it out within 24 hours, they received it 4 days ago at this point and have been ignoring my emails since.
Mind you this was all for a USED lens and seller has yet to respond
I bought a lens, noticed the front glass was scratched. Returned it, which I paid $48 for, and only got a partial refund. Will never buy from again!
Bought a Nikon lens, filter, lens hood, soft case, and lens cleaning cloth from Ted's on eBay. Missing lens hood, soft case, and lens cleaning cloth. Could not give a negative or neutral review, blocked. Told by customer service to check package again for missing items. Beware
We purchased a Canon EOS Rebel camera from Ted's electronics and it arrived with the box seal already broken. The product description on the outside of the box was written in Portuguese and the camera charger was a type C plug with two round pins which won't work in U.S. outlets. Ted's did not indicate on its website that the camera we were purchasing 1-was not intended for the U.S. market; 2-may have been previously used; 3-did not include a warranty. Despite their failure to provide us with the product as described on their website, Ted's deducted $16 from our refund to cover a so-called "restocking fee." We are also out $23 for the cost of the return.
Purchased a Canon PowerShot SX 620 from Ted's. The box had the wrong components - European connectors instead of American. Sent them photos 3 times and instead of correcting the mistake and sending the proper components, they sent a workaround part that does get the job done, but it is still not what I purchased. Will never do business with Ted's again!
The general public do a fraud, but without scamming, i got my order right now so i'm very glad with your provider because of this superb transport. I advocate you all to retain the first rate carrier.
Just a friendly reminder that a place like TED's Electronics is a total scam, buying from this place you might as well just piss on your money - avoid the trouble and don't do business with them
Wanted to change the color of my camera that I just ordered, and they did it so gladly! Without any fee or questions! Ordered already a few cameras from them and was always very happy with the item and service!
Purchased a Canon point and shoot camera from them in September 2019. The camera starting having issues within about 6 months. After 9 months, it was completely non-functional. I called Canon for warranty repair (it has a 1 year manufacturer warranty). The told me they would not touch it as Ted's is NOT an authorized Canon dealer. I might as well have bought it from a street vendor... Ted's advertises on their site that they provide a 1 year warranty on the products they sell. Nonsense! When I called them, the very rude and uninterested woman said "any camera that's more than 3 month is more than likely misuse so we won't fix it." Amazing how they default to misuse right out of the gate. She then said she would send me a link to return my camera to them so that they could assess it. The link never came, Imagine that... Bottom line, Ted's is worthless and you'd be better off going to the Canon website to see the list of AUTHORIZED sellers of their products, otherwise you're buying a product without a warranty... And any listed review that says they are amazing is only because they haven't had to test the worthless warranty Ted's advertises.
I bought a Sony camcorder that turned out to be the International version instead of one meant for the US market. No mention of that in the ad, whereas other reputable sellers clearly state that. In their defense, they did offer a full refund. But to avoid the inconvenience, they should have mentioned it in their ad.
Whatever you do, DO NOT order anything from Ted's. I ordered a Nikon 3500 digital camera and it was delivered with a cracked display screen. Ted's refused to allow me to return it unless I paid the shipping. They sent me a broken camera and then they wouldn't take it back. Stay as far away from these crooks as you can.
Ted's Electronics absolutely exceeded my expectations. To begin with, I made some honest errors ordering and they fixed everything. I had to cancel, get refunds, and Lisa handled it to my satisfaction. I got the camera I wanted and for those who say the camera's are not new, you are dead wrong. I am completely happy with their service! Thank you Ted's Electronics!
The product I purchased was a necessity in these days of physical distancing. The item is on special price at this time -- the shipping is over twice the amount of the item (not a camera). My goodness! That seems too expensive. Just wondering whether there is a covid-19 surcharge.
I ordered a camera through Wal-Mart and they had it shipped from Ted Electronics. When it arrived, the display screen was cracked. I contacted Wal-Mart customer service. They told me Ted Electronics would contact me with details for an exchange. After many emails back and forth with Ted, including pictures sent of the cracked screen, they ended up telling me I would have to go through Wal-Mart for an exchange. I am stuck with a broken camera and getting nothing but the runaround from both Wal-Mart and Ted.
Worst experience in my life! Ordered a camera with missing parts. Took one week to receive only one missing part. I'm the other missing part they told me they weren't going to do anything about it! How is this company still in business. Terrible!
Warning: Ted's Electronics does not disclose on its webpage when a product does not have a US warranty, and if the product fails, Teds refuses to repair or replace the product. Therefore, I recommend that you not buy anything from Ted's. The business cannot be trusted. Here is my story: On September 17,2019, I ordered an Olympus Tough TG-6 camera from Ted's. The cost was $397.98. Within a month after I received the camera, it began to occasionally fail to start when I pushed the power button. The problem gradually became more frequent, and by the beginning of November it would no longer start at all. I contacted Olympus to inquire about how to get the camera repaired or replaced under warranty, and was told that the camera does not have a US warranty. Olympus told me to direct my complaint to Teds. I returned the camera to Ted's for repair or replacement. Ted's received the camera on December 18,2019. Ted's didn't acknowledge that it had received the camera or tell whether it was going to repair or replace it, despite a couple of e-mail inquiries I sent it. Then on January 30,2020, I received my camera back in the mail, unrepaired, with a notice from ted with a "repair estimate" of $314.99, and stating that when Ted's received that amount it would send me "an equivalent new or factory-refurbished replacement product." In the description of problem symptoms, the notice stated "No internal damage/error. Issue not classified as manufacturer defect. Clear signs of accidental damage. Confirmed by Canon [sic]." The camera is in immaculate physical condition, and has not been damaged in any way. It just stopped working within a short time after I received it. So the bottom line is that Ted's sold me a camera for $397.98 without disclosing that the camera did not have a US warranty, and when the camera stopped working within a month or so after I received it, Ted's refused to repair or replace it. I recommend that you not buy anything from Ted's.
My order arrived shortly after ordered. It was as described and is a much valued tool in my photography kit.
It is a Canon AI flash,
Spent almost $500 for a camera. They shipped me a damaged camera. They had me send it back and told me I'd get a new one. They sent me back the SAME damaged camera!
They want me to pay another $15 in shipping cost! Their customer service is a total joke!
