Because it's unstable, phone conversations and all electronics devices are unreliable too. Imagine it going off in the middle of an important conversation. Or having to repeatedly login when it frozen during work.
I joined telcan in agreement that they will not increase the price for two years. After 6 months they increased my internet by $7! When I talked to them why did this that, they claim that the main internet provider (Bell) increased the price and they were forced to increase my internet price as well. This doesn't make sense at all. This is bad business and it is scam. Other than that they internet is solid and customer service is reachable.
My advise don't do business with pre paid internet services who but internet service from big companies and sell it to customers. Because they will not respect their agreement just like Telcan did to me. Avoid telcan

Always takes too long to get a connection. Sometimes more than 10 minutes. Not easy to refresh your ip-address. Occasional random service dropouts when connecting to overseas servers (that problem did not occur with previous isp.)
On the plus side, no contracts, no fee increases. So I stay hooked up.
I only get good internet the weeks after I complain about having bad internet. It's as if they just fix it for 2 weeks and then just let it get bad again! I work from home and have lost so many meetings and money due to the service being bad at least once per week. The price is good yeah but not worth it if I'm gonna end up with no internet at 3am for hours! And not just at 3am, that's just what seems to happen more often, no internet late at night.

I had an issue with local cable quality - Not Telcan's fault, there's a faulty cable somewhere in the neighbourhood.
Telcan was great with followup, checking in a few times to make sure that the issue had been resolved.

It has been easy to contact Telecan whenever, I am faced with any issue. I have been with Telcan for some time now and as of recent have been in search of plans that better suit my budget given the stress higher food and energy costs. To be fair, I did reach out to Telcan and asked if they offered loyalty plans for long term customer? My answer was a flat out "No"!. I would have given them a 5 star but feel that customer loyalty is important to my as I am loyal to a fault when I find a company with few faults. Sure they could do better with more updated equipment offerings and their customer service has its issues but overall deserve 4 stars.

I have been using Telcan Internet for about two years now and I am very happy with it.
I constantly get great internet speed, and they do not block any content or sites.
Best of all that they do not surprise me with constant price hikes, unlike my previous experiences with Rogers and Bell who give you a decent deal initially but then keep increasing the price every few months.

I recently moved and decided to change internet providers while at it. Telcan has been very reliable with only a couple of hiccups and the price is about half of what I was paying before for the exact same service.

Was promised no downtime when I signed up as my wife and I were working from home. Internet and VOIP phone down for almost two weeks. Was offered a $10 credit for our trouble and unpaid days of work.
After two year contract, tried to renegotiate a deal, they weren't interested. So, I cancelled and switched to another provider with exactly 0 seconds of down time and they have the nerve to call me three times by three different people to try and convince me to stay with a deal!
They were nice enough to provide me a prepaid UPS shipping label to return their rented equipment and UPS tracking shows they received it April 4th, yet they keep emailing me with threats that they will charge me for the non-returned equipment. Lately it's a call at 9 at night again with the same threat picked up by my wife who freaked out. I keep replying with the info pictured.
Moron on phone confirmed receipt, hopefully that is the end of that.hopefully

I have used this service since September 2022. So far, it is not bad. Speed is quite OK but sometimes disconnected. Some websites are blocked without any reason, e.g. Royal bank. I can't download the invoice due to technical errors without any solution. The price is quite reasonable with the promotion. I will consider it after 1 year using.

Telcan has been on top of this ever since I decided to switch to them from another provider. Text messages, calls, emails - the works to ensure a smooth transition. During the outage we had - they are happy to credit you for the time lost. All for a fair price. They are quick and professional - and anything a normal household could ask for and MORE!

Always been happy with the service. Any problems I've had have been addressed promptly and fixed right away. Customer support has been great. Always getting stated speeds with no lag. Download speeds are always constant and I even get more upload speed than specified. Never have anything buffer and media streams flawlessly.

So far my Telcan internet and home phone are working fine except for the occasional glitz of the modem, when this happens The home phone incoming calls goes directly to the voice mail without getting a ringing sound! I always have to re-boot the system to get it working again.

Recently we had trouble with our cable connection. A Telcan team trouble shot it within 1/2 and managed to fully restore proper service. Getting ahold of them is not a problem, and the team has always been professional.

A representative of the company came on the appointed day to install my DSL, that I had pfreviously received. The person called first to say when he would arrive. He spent 3 hours getting it to work (at little after 9 AM to just after the noon hour)! But in the end it has worked just fine.
