I joined telcan in agreement that they will not increase the price for two years. After 6 months they increased my internet by $7! When I talked to them why did this that, they claim that the main internet provider (Bell) increased the price and they were forced to increase my internet price as well. This doesn't make sense at all. This is bad business and it is scam. Other than that they internet is solid and customer service is reachable. My advise don't do business with pre paid internet services who but internet service from big companies and sell it to customers. Because they will not respect their agreement just like Telcan did to me. Avoid telcan

As a person who values honesty and integrity in business, my experience with Telcan has been nothing short of disappointing. Despite initially agreeing upon a specific pricing plan, with a 2-year commitment by Telcan for no price increase, Telcan failed to uphold its commitment, leaving me frustrated and disillusioned.
From the outset, I was drawn to Telcan by promises of reliable service and transparent pricing. However, my satisfaction was short-lived when I received an email part way through the agreed-upon terms. In summary, Telcan decided to forgo the original agreed to price, imposing a price increase. (See their email below) Despite multiple attempts to seek clarification and resolution, I was met with evasion and indifference from Telcan. (see their response to me below)
The lack of accountability displayed by Telcan is deeply concerning. As customers, we should be able to expect a company to honour its commitments. We should be able to trust that advertised promotions and prices will be honoured. However, the blatant switch and bait tactics of Telcan, and the disregard for their own terms of service leaves me questioning the company's integrity and reliability.

Also, I recently discovered that Telcan solicits reviews in return for compensation. Such practices should be banned. Anyone looking at Telcan reviews should filter results based on "negative" as it provides a clearer picture regarding this company.

The frustration and inconvenience caused by this pricing discrepancy cannot be overstated. As a consumer, I rely on accurate and transparent billing to manage my expenses. The failure of Telcan to stick to our agreed-upon pricing plan has not only eroded my trust in the company, but also created unnecessary strain as I switch providers.
My experience with Telcan has been profoundly disappointing. I would caution others about committing to service with them. I cannot in good conscience recommend their services.
Below is the communication from Telcan to verify my experience.
"Dear xxxxxxx,
Telcan Account # xxxxx
Telcan is committed to providing high-quality internet services to our clients. To keep up with rising business costs and to continue providing you with the best possible services, your internet plan price will be increasing on Feb 23,2024.
On the date of your first bill after Feb 23,2024, the monthly service fee for your Internet package will increase from $xx to $xx (plus taxes). To help accommodate this change, we will end the term price increase"
And their followup to my complaint:
"After careful consideration, our management made the decision to conclude the promotional offer earlier than anticipated. We understand this may not align with your expectations, and we apologize for any frustration it has caused."

Can,t seem to talk to some one from Canada every thing is done on line from India with people that speak very poor English. Sad way to run a Canadian Company. I would be afraid to go with them.

So far my Telcan internet and home phone are working fine except for the occasional glitz of the modem, when this happens The home phone incoming calls goes directly to the voice mail without getting a ringing sound! I always have to re-boot the system to get it working again.

Was promised no downtime when I signed up as my wife and I were working from home. Internet and VOIP phone down for almost two weeks. Was offered a $10 credit for our trouble and unpaid days of work.
After two year contract, tried to renegotiate a deal, they weren't interested. So, I cancelled and switched to another provider with exactly 0 seconds of down time and they have the nerve to call me three times by three different people to try and convince me to stay with a deal!
They were nice enough to provide me a prepaid UPS shipping label to return their rented equipment and UPS tracking shows they received it April 4th, yet they keep emailing me with threats that they will charge me for the non-returned equipment. Lately it's a call at 9 at night again with the same threat picked up by my wife who freaked out. I keep replying with the info pictured.
Moron on phone confirmed receipt, hopefully that is the end of that.hopefully

I have been using Telcan Internet for about two years now and I am very happy with it.
I constantly get great internet speed, and they do not block any content or sites.
Best of all that they do not surprise me with constant price hikes, unlike my previous experiences with Rogers and Bell who give you a decent deal initially but then keep increasing the price every few months.

At least one outage per month, you try to call customer service and they hang up in your face. Steer clear, even the price doesn't justify the terrible service.

I have used this service since September 2022. So far, it is not bad. Speed is quite OK but sometimes disconnected. Some websites are blocked without any reason, e.g. Royal bank. I can't download the invoice due to technical errors without any solution. The price is quite reasonable with the promotion. I will consider it after 1 year using.

I have been with Telcan for some time now and as of recent have been in search of plans that better suit my budget given the stress higher food and energy costs. To be fair, I did reach out to Telcan and asked if they offered loyalty plans for long term customer? My answer was a flat out "No"!. I would have given them a 5 star but feel that customer loyalty is important to my as I am loyal to a fault when I find a company with few faults. Sure they could do better with more updated equipment offerings and their customer service has its issues but overall deserve 4 stars.

A representative of the company came on the appointed day to install my DSL, that I had pfreviously received. The person called first to say when he would arrive. He spent 3 hours getting it to work (at little after 9 AM to just after the noon hour)! But in the end it has worked just fine.

Old outages Rogers modems are junk. Customer service is horrible. Tech service is even worse. They will also make mistakes on your billing trying to get every cent out of you. Definitely not recommended

Companies currently use our infrastructure to provision prepaid long-distance, international mobile phone recharge, as well as home and business Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) services.

OUR HISTORY
Telcan began as a long-distance phone service provider founded in 1998 by 3 University of Waterloo students who did what engineers do best - find technical solutions to everyday problems.

The first problem we solved was how to provide businesses with dependable, affordable phone services. In 2004 we launched Callture.com, a provider of cloud business phone systems. In 2015 we launched oyemobile.com, a provider of prepaid international phone calls and international mobile top-up services.

Today, established telecommunications providers see a change in the Internet industry as a problem to overcome, but we see an opportunity to improve Internet services for Canadians.
