An airline schedule change has caused a misconnection in my itinerary. While in these situations for tickets booked directly through airlines the modification of the reservation is immediate, StudentUniverse's process to modify the reservation is a real pain.
First of all, I was NOT notified of the schedule change. I could have gone to the airport and notice there that I didn't have enough time to catch my connecting flight. After I noticed the schedule change, I contacted StudentUniverse to modify my reservation, as requested by the airline. 8 days has passed since my first email, and I am still waiting for StudentUniverse to confirm my new itinerary. Completely unacceptable.
Using Student Universe was super streamlined and easy. It made it easy to customize my flight, provided me with flight protection at a low cost, and allowed me to use a grant from my study abroad program.

I often witness the bad experience with Student Universe with confirming the purchased ticket. The tickets often appear as "available," but after I buy my tickets. There will be an error which I have to buy other tickets, which I found pretty annoying.
I booked a flight to Tokyo Haneda airport from New York JFK Airport as part of my internship program. That flight allows me to choose some goodies, such as choosing my own seat or even having an option to add protection for my baggage. However, there is one thing that leaves something to be desired, and it is the refundability of the tickets. In fact, the tickets being sold in Student Universe should be refundable without any paywalls until one week before their departure dates.
Just stay away from this. There is nothing they can do to help. I had schedule clash and had to change my flight and I was told that I can't reschedule because my tickets were bought at a discounted price and the flights I was going to change were regular flights. Unerstand that I need to pay the price difference and service fee but this is not making any sense. Also cancellation gets no money back- I got this but the customer service was like a machine, saying that this is airline policy and not helping figure out any possible solution for the customer's good. Just, stay away, they are not helping AT ALL.
I'm extremely grateful for the amount of money I've been able to save for flights however the first time I booked a flight I wasted around $60 by choosing to pay for my seats through the app instead of when I checked in. I ended up getting stuck in the leftover middle seats so I wouldn't bother trying to pick seats in the app. Other than that I would definitely recommend and have recommended this to my other friends in college.
I received good service when I called the customer service line. The customer service agent was nice and detail oriented and online booking was pretty smooth. However, it would be appreciated if Student Universe allows for child bookings as well since you book your own ticket online and then spend an hour over the phone to book tickets for your child. Prices come as a surprise and are not necessarily what you paid for your own ticket. I paid $100 extra for my child compared to my own ticket.
My experience with them is horrible. I ordered two tickets and cancel one ticket in October 2018, They refunded me the amount $1,511.23 in November. Then it was everything fine until I saw they had charged my credit card again on February 14th, 2019 even without telling me. They say they don't store credit card information but they store that and charge you whenever they want! I contacted them and then they said it was a mistake in their finance department and they had to rebill me!

Ok, at first booking with Student Universe seems almost too good to be true. The flight is cheap and you're all set- that is until a few weeks go by and you get an email saying there was a slip up on the company and you have to rebook new flights. Then you begin the lengthy process of dealing with 10 different customer service reps because not one person can help you book a new flight. It took almost 2 months for me to be CONFIRMED on a new flight after so much back and forth with various different people. It was so hard to find one employee who was confident enough to tell me the informaton they were giving me was accurate. Completely unprofessional, misinformed employees who make it very hard to help people rebook flights even though Student Universe is the one who is letting people book flights that don't make sense!

Booked a flight with them, got a confirmation and airline booking code. A few days later I went online to select seats and it turned out the booking "didn't go through", according to StudentUniverse. Thanks god I hadn't waited all the way until the flight time to find out I didn't have the tickets. Never again!

The flight jumped two hundred dollars while trying to book kicking two of the four of us and forcing those two to pay the higher price. We still got the same flight thanks to katherine and we thank her, the pricing situation just frustrates the hell out of me.

I don't believe you ever had flights for 25.00. You wasted my time to go to bed late when I have to get up amd go to work to now make money to get my student home. Site crash, app crash all on purpose.
