I've had to cancel two flights within 24 hours of booking. Both times got quickly onto a real human operator, who cancelled and fully refunded flights immediately. I've also booked a number of other flights through StudentUniverse, and they're normally some of the cheapest around and are ticketed immediately.

Easy to use and to get assistance. They have actually cheep flights, my life would have been more fun if i knew about studentUniverse years ago. I found the flight I wanted quickly, flights offered were cheep and good flights, and I was charged the price listed and got, for an extra $5, a 72 hour full refund canceled. And there were no weird extra charges. I needed to add my TSA and frequent flier number and chatted with the message box and they responded quickly and didn't make me feel completely useless for not being able to figure out all the parts on my own. After that I everything was done and there where no mishaps with the plane, it was just normal boring flight.

Good routing, bad baggage pricing

SU had the lowest price for a route not available on other sites. Turned out to be a 'hacker' route that required paying for baggage and seats on both legs of the 'connecting' flight. SU collected a fee for the baggage at purchase which turned out to be 30% of the true baggage costs. SU refunded me the baggage costs that it collected and I was on my own to pay $500+ for bags. Not very good.

DO NOT USE THEM. They are a horrible travel agency and dont care at all about their customers. They just want to sell to you and thats it. Take your money and then never actually help you. They outsource everything. Flight insurance they make you call another number to talk about it. They would not tell me anything about the insurance I purchased and said she didnt know what it covered. I am sorry how do you sell people things that you dont even know what it is! Also, to look at your itinerary again, another company handles it and it is in calendar view for each and every separate connection. Then, god forbid your flight is delayed or anything they make you deal with it and you have to call both them and the airlines to figure it out. Where both parties blame the other and says the other one has to help you. All SU does is blame the other parties they work with and make you go and talk to everyone to figure it out. What the hell do I pay them for?! Dont EVER book with SU.

My daugheters are stranded in FL right now with no return flights. They booked a RT flight and student universe changed their flight out and gave them no return flight home. If you call the customer service number for existing reservations they tell me to call the airline and rudely hang up on me. The airline tells me they have no reservation. I'm stuck at this point paying for new tickets because this company just hangs up on you when you call them. Do not use this company if you want to make sure if you have a reservation home. Buyer beware they advertise cheap flights but you will pay a fortune when your ticket is cancelled and have to buy new flights.

If your daughters' return flights got cancelled, it would have been by the airline (we don't have anything to do with flight schedules), which is likely why you were told to contact the airline. The airline can make sure your daughters are rescheduled on a new flight home if their original one was changed or cancelled. Would not recommend

I would not recommend using student universe unless you are 100% sure that you will not need to cancel or change your flight. To cancel or change your flight you'll have to pay the airlines flight change fee along with student universe's fee (upwards of $275) along with the difference in ticket prices. Basically there is no such thing as flight credit if you need to cancel or change your flight because of how expensive their fees are. In addition to all of this their discounts aren't really discounted at least for domestic flights. I would say you're better off booking directly through an airline like spirit, Alaskan airlines, American Airlines, etc.

Hi there! We're sorry to hear you feel this. Unfortunately, yes, most of our flights are nonrefundable and change/cancellation fees are standard throughout the industry. Most of our flights are discounted up to 30% off, although of course the amount of discounting varies by route and airline. Keep in mind you can always use promo codes for more discounts, too! It was a scam!

Asked for a refund for a return flight 20 days prior to the flight and they offered me $200 as refund for the $1500 that I payed for it. One way ticket on the same route is going at $1500 at the moment and they are refunding $200 and I am not even late. Kept me on hold for 1 hour so that I would hang up. Hate their customer service. Only buy if you are willing to waste the ticket if the circumstances change.

Hi there! Unfortunately, most of the flights we sell are non-refundable and will incur fees if you wish to change/cancel the flight. This is stated in the terms and conditions of the flight during the checkout process, so you can also double-check in advance if you'll be eligible for a refund if you cancel your trip. We do offer free refunds on almost all of our flights within 24 hours of purchase, but after that, we are subject to the airline's fare rules on cancellation and changes. Good service

The service I had on the phone to book my trip was good. But, before that, I was trying to book online. When I went to purchase, it wouldn't follow through and left a can't confirm message. This was a bit confusing. But, after a phone call things were resolved. I had to pay a higher price for my ticket.
I also want to say that I understand the age of a student is somewhat questionable in today's world ith online college opportunities. I am an online student at ASU and I am also older. I feel that if a student can provide a student ID or proof they are a student, age shouldn't manner.

Credit voucher

I have a credit voucher from an airline to use, SU told me to call directly airline, airline told me to talk to SU as they are my agency. Round and round. Now SU told me to wait for 24 hours so they can confirm with airline and activate my booking. In mean time if the tickets going up I will be not compensated. They could not even lock price. Agent was nice and I really controlled my emotions. I agreed to wait for 24 hours. Not happy how they are handling situation... I got voucher in around 19-24 hours to find out the voucher is short on money I have paid originally from $651.98 down to $544.4... where is the rest? Now I have to call them again. Reference number RYLNEQ. Now you have my info, phone number. Work with Casey and Ann. They helped a lot and was very knowledgeable. Work with Steven today and he treated me well. The difference of price was adjusted and I got full amount in vouchers.

I think my experience with it is very good. It has different language Settings and different options. I like this software very much. It's very smart. But I don't like having to write at least five crosses.

#1 They do not let you book both student and non-student flights at the same time!
#2 If you attempt to book them separately, you will get screwed. Do not even try. As soon as you book the student flight and go to book the non-student flight, the price will shoot up for the regular adult flight and if will be completely worthless.
#3 It will take you 3-5 business days to get the charge back to your Credit Card if you cancel it!

I will never use this service again and I suggest you don't both unless you are strictly doing a student-only flight.

This is why you are unable to book student and non-student tickets at the same time and why the prices are different for non-student flights. To be honest, I booked through SU without reading any reviews, so when I did read them I was petrified. I also booked my flight for a day after I was supposed to fly out, and because of past reviews of it being a scam I was scared I'd lose all my money. I'm a broke college student, so I wasn't sure what I would do. My flight was with American Airlines and it was from Florida to Philly (for reference). I called customer service and it took about 2 and a half hours for them to reply, but the lady was extremely nice. I got to change my flight the day before, for a fee of like $50 which was better then the $200 fee that AA had for any flight. It processed right away. I honestly have no complaints, guessing from the reviews I might've gotten lucky.

Faster confirmation email

I got my confirmation a little bit late maybe ~10 min later than I booked. During that time I was anxious about whether I wrote the wrong email, thinking about how I can find my confirmation again. Fortunately, I got the confirmation. I wished that would be faster but maybe the website was busy.

It was very easy to switch between filters on the search bar to find the flight that was the cheapest and the best for my schedule. There are many options for flights and the prices are definitely lower than those on the actually website of the specific airline.

Luggage information

The luggage information should be more clear to the buyers eventhough it has mentioned the airline website but it still makes people confused about how many free of kg for the checked bag and hand bag.
