Good filter to quickly find deals, quick purchase. But I missed the spot for the promo code. There should be a second place for the promo code toward the bottom of the page because the selection of the options naturally draws the customer to the bottom of the page.
Terrible experience.
I was told two days after I purchased a ticket that the flight was cancelled. When I requested my refund for the cancelled flight they wanted to charge me almost $200 for a cancellation fee.
But I didn't change my flight reservations, you did.
I am legally subject to my refund and will take action to report this company as the scam that they are. I have read so many reviews of people who never receive their money.
This is fraud and this is illegal.
Payment for no service.
Will not be booking again.

If given the opportunity, I would use it again. As it was my first experience the process was not completely smooth, but I think it can only get better each time.
When rescheduling my flight it was very difficult to hear the other line, after confirming it would only be 7$ more to reschedule my flight, and hearing an audible "yes" from the other line I was then charged an extra $77. When I wanted to cancel my flight they said I could not, even though I purchased the $9.75 insurance. This company is a scam that preys on students looking for reliable flights. I will never be booking with them again.
I was lucky enough to have been given a refund for my flight, thank you Emirates. StudentUniverse accidentally paid me the amount twice. Now I understand the second payment is their money and they obviously should get it back. However they first tried to charge my card, before the refunded money had landed in the account. This got the declined, after which they told me I needed to sign an authorisation form so they could charge the account once the money had landed. I quickly responded to them to say I didn't have a printer at home, so it would take me a while to get the form back to them. After this I got a couple of follow ups, all within a couple of days, to ask for this same form. Again I informed them I had not been able yet to go out to print the form.
Apparently it took them too long, and without any notice or authorisation they charged my account, which didn't have enough money.

I have been trying to get my $1200 flight credits for almost 2 years. Ive had every excuse under the sun. I was then told they would transfer them to a virgin credit, but first i had to pay $210 to get this done because it was a "airline fee" i contacted virgin directly and they advised this was NOT the case and that no fee should apply. I called back and told them id spoken to virgin and was told that it wasnt in fact and "airline fee" they then changed their story to "it's because you booked a promotion and we need that fee back". Virgin fought my battle with me, and almost 2 years later we were able to win.

It's nice to have discounted flights for students. Horrible timing accommodations though and they don't line up with the timing of when the program needs to pick you up.
I accidentally booked a flight on the same day at the wrong time. However when I wanted to cancel the wrong flight, I was forced by Student Universe to contact the Airline, but the airline wanted me to contact student universe
Maybe because I paid for trip protection, but when I had realized my mistake and needed a refund, the people on the phone were very kind helpful and expedient. They clearly explained that I will get a refund, but wont get my money back for a week to 10 days.
I found everything in the website easy to use and there were not any problems.
It was a good experience while using this website and rates were reasonable.
I had a really good experience. He student discounts are so helpful. I checked the airline website and it was like almost 300 more than student universe for the same airline so that was really nice, getting all these deals so students are also able to travel the world.
Everything was good except the time it took to finally receive my confirmation (48 hours +)
I booked a flight for a great price, but it didn't tell me if my flight included a carry-on, it just showed a question mark. When I received the confirmation from the airline, it told me that it only included a personal item. I am unsure if I can still add a carry-on.
This is a scam. Your website sucks and has limited options. :(
They found me a last minute flight after booking me for the wrong date. This could've been a total disaster but they made it work without it negatively affecting me. That's what I call "Excellent Customer Service". Thanks
I recently booked a flight with student universe, my initial experience was positive, they are very informative and have good prices! Now I just have to wait for the day of my trip and see if the company will provide me with what was promised!
The site was easy to use and was able to purchase my flight at a much lower rate than I would have using other sites. As a college student trying to save up for my trip, I really appreciate this site. Even with all the fees with seats and baggage/flight coverage, the overall total was still lower than it would have been buying from Delta or Expedia etc.
