I was hit by a state farm policy holder. I had 2 customer service calls and it was the worst experience I have ever had with any "representative".
When I asked if I could speak to someone else. She stated "you sure can, you can call back" and hung up the phone. This is after I sent an email requesting assistance, enterprise and my agent called several times trying to speak with someone... 5 days prior!
I feel bad for those people that need to deal with them on a regular.
Was hit by a car when the other party ran a red light. They were insured by State Farm. The police report clearly stated what happened. I had also a witness who agreed the lady ran the red light. Yet it took WEEKS to even get an update. Nobody at State Farm could help me or answer any questions about anything at any point in the process. Should have been no surprise that they decided to not accept liability. Scumbag company.
I called to review my bill and was promised a return call that never happened. I called approximately 10 days later and spoke with Ms. Julie Wilson. She not only apologized for the dropped ball by another associate, she took time to review, explain and assist. I felt valued and appreciated. It made the difference of me taking my business elsewhere. Thank you, Ms. Wilson. I truly appreciate that customer service is still a thing in business.
A state farm insured driver pulled out on front of me at a three way stop. The police said it was his fault. A driver was behind me and gave a statement that said I accelerated the gas so I would hit him. I did not. So because some guy says it's true, it must me. They denied my claim. It was their drivers fault. Don't deal with these people. They are horrible. My car is totalled because of their irresponsible driver.
My life, auto and renters all in one,the app is fabulous, adding and updating a policy with ease, great customer service, great rates, they just don't say they appreciate your business, they show it.
My husband and I got into a car accident in July 2020, was not back into my home state yet. Car got hit, shoved off a bank and flipped multiple times. I thank God for his hands being put around me and my husband but state farm was there and on it, they had everything ready for me when I got out of the hospital and the next day for the rental car they didn't hesitate or wait for the other guys insurance. They made me feel like we were what they first concern was. I highly recommend State farm.
I've been with State Farm auto for about 30 years and their pricing is great on premiums. I recently had a claim from a tree branch hitting my car and my agent was great but the claims department is horrible. I got one call from them and I asked if they could call back in 5 minutes. That was the only call I received. I called them every 24 hours for a week straight and was on hold for at least 1.5 hours during the 5-7 calls I made. I was promised a call back from a manager and never got one. The claim was finally settled and it says closed and paid on the website but I still have not received payment, after another week. I'm afraid to call them again for fear of the awful on hold music!
I never had a claim so can't evaluate that. However, every year they increased my rates (25% not unusual) until switching companies became the obvious best move for me. They overcharge.
No business ethics! No matter which company, business, or corporation you're working with, ethical principles are always the foremost crucial guidance to guide the company's behavior because it may be a set of conduct that will outline the principles, responsibilities, or maybe the good practices for an entire organization. You will not find any with State Farm insurance!
We are in the middle of a pandemic and state farm still wants to charge individuals who are not even driving not even leaving their homes but yet they're billing their accounts right on schedule. Their commercial is a lie they should be sued for false advertisement!
This country is far behind our European neighbors when it comes to life situations: When a corporation puts money before health of employee or child that is a huge issue! Issues, a car accident & then a sick child that was hospitalized and released with instructions to observe for 72 hours were ordered. How do you do that if you are not with them? To have a doctors note, but never asked about it develops a pattern of not needing. The straw for this company was the hospitalization, faxed 12 pages of Dr instructions to support a valid reason. It is inconceivable that any employee has to make a heart wrenching decision to go to work or leave my sick 2 yr old. Stating business goes on in the event of death what pray tell does that tell you about the Values of this Company? Awful practice for any US company!
Do not get StateFarm for homeowners insurance. I had a large hail storm with hail up to two inches in size and they are denying roof damage as old due to being the wrong color even though I have video and photo evidence of the hail and documentation of no hail damage from before the storm from two different companies.
I gave them a photo of one of the hail stones after it had melted a lot, I didn't want to run out in hail, and they seem to think this will not cause damage since in the denial they say zero damage even though the adjuster was pointing out damage to me.
A demented State Farm insured woman hit my car and seemed very confused. She even apologized and mentioned she was panicking and distracted. I caught it all on video and when I filed under her claim State Farm they refused to hold her liable. They determined it to be neutral. I was hit 7/22/2023 and I've had two reps try to over talk me and one hung up on me. State Farm is most definitely training their employees to be disrespectful. They're incompetent on top of it all. Plot twist: I also have State Farm Auto and Home, they are losing a customer…that's all I can say. I've had State Farm for over 15 years and the few times I've needed them they've been nothing short of a headache! I'm tired of giving chances.
Absolutely horrible experience. I have been a State Farm client for 17 years... Never been in an accident. Someone backed into my vehicle in the parking lot where I reside. There was a witness statement, police report and footage of the incident however, because the witness (for unknown reasons) did not want to make a recorded statement for State Farm, the claim was denied (the party who hit my vehicle was also a State Farm client)... My vehicle will not be repaired unless I pay for it. I had no fault in this whatsoever so I'm questioning what have I been paying for all these years? To top it off, I'm the one who had to pay for and submit the police report and footage, they did absolutely nothing to reach out to the officer or police department in order to obtain the footage. They definitely do not care about their clientele, just another greedy business, in my opinion.
Denied our claim, in spite of a plethora of evidence. We had a chimney fire; 3 adult household members saw the flames, plus 4 adult backyard neighbors. The damage to the chimney was extensive; a professional chimney company used a snake camera to documented the clearly visible damage. They went up on the roof; when they removed the chimney cap, the chimney crumbled to pieces. But State Farm's "inspector" used only a regular hand-held camera. He didn't have a ladder, so he didn't climb on the roof. Nor did he interview the neighbors. We had called the fire Dept to make sure there were no lingering embers; their report stated there was no heat detected - so we could rest easy. State Farm decided that meant "no fire took place" and denied our claim!
Pam is amazing, she is very nice, personable, & thoughtful.
I have been with State Farm for years, they are all very nice and customer friendly. 'I'm happy to continue having them as my insurance carrier for years to come.

Have been with StateFarm some 20 years. The service is first rate, so are all the people I have come in contact with. Their rates are very good, they handle all my insurance needs. Would never change companies.
I have never had so many issues with an insurance company getting my vehicle quoted on a collision to get the check to fix my vehicle It's been an absolute nightmare and has been ridiculous with the way they handle everything! After this I will be looking elsewhere!
My husband and I had been with state farm for over 50 years, but when we submitted 3 claims in 2 years, our insurance was cancelled. Cancelling someones insurance after 50+ years of paying premiums on time,(and not cheap premiums)makes a loud statement about "the good neighbor." they're not the kind of "neighbor" I want or need.
They'll send you claim to an "investigator" if you've had another claim a few years ago. No questions asked.
The adjusters try to use manipulative tactics by bullying the customer. For instance, when I told her how I thought the theft occurred, she replied, "haha, really?" Yes, really. Annoying. It's quite obvious they're trained to make you feel like crap while you're the victim.
I would not recommend even for $5/mo.
Answer: Scam. They are terrible. Will take money from you and not explain why My grandpa has been with State Farm insurance since the 1960's. We have had great service up until the last 6 years. Everyone has always told me they were shit and told me all bad things about them but I always stood up for them. Well I'm here to say that was a slap in the face. We have filed a total of 8 claims this whole 60 years he's been with them. 3 for car wrecks, 1 being our fault, 1 being both parties fault, and the other one being the other parties fault but they did not have insurance so State Farm had to cover it. Another claim was when my car got stolen. There's was $1500 of damage done to it when it was stolen. THEY SPENT $15,000 FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS BRINGING IN STATE FARM LAWYERS AND INVESTIGATORS TO TRY TO PROVE MY DAUGHTERS DAD AND I WERE LYING ABOUT IT GETTING STOLEN. MIND YOU IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ONLY $1500 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY TREATED US LIKE CRIMINALS AND RACIALLY PROFILED MY DAUGHTERS DAD, EVEN TRIED TO GET US PUT IN JAIL FOR FRAUD. BUT GUESS WHAT THEY COULDN'T BECAUSE WE DID NOT LIE, IT WAS NOT FRAUD, MY CAR REALLY GOT STOLLEN. They are ignorant and even belittled me so much it made me cry. WHICH INFURIATED my grandpa and he confronted our representative about it and he said "there's nothing I can do that's what they do to people" They have lied to us multiple times. They cancelled my road side assistance because I had 2 incidences "too close together" We pay by the 6 months. I pay for my cars I own and my grandpa pays for the other cars because we are on a family plan. Well last time it was due it was $800 each for my cars. It's usually $600 each. I thought it was a one time thing and I paid it. But then I got another bill for $800 for the 6 months for each car. So I asked my insurance representative why it went up $200. He said he didn't know and he couldn't figure out why. There was also nothing he could do about it. They also called us and told us we were late on an insurance payment (again we pay by the 6 months) but they called 5 months into this last payment (that was most definitely paid I have plenty of proof) and said we were late on that payment. Why would you just now be contacting us if we were 5 months late on a payment and we still have coverage. So she went back through her system and called us said that she was "wrong" that it popped up it is due next month and she thought that meant we missed a payment. Is she dumb or what? Then proceeded to tell us we were 2 car payments past due. Which isn't true. And how would she know if it had been true. We never have been late on a payment. We are actually 2 months ahead on every car payment we have. So I called the bank that gave us the loan for this car and they said they have not communicated with State Farm at all. That that would be illegal to do without our consent. That when someone calls about an account, they have to verify they are that person, and then everything that is discussed and done is written in the notes of that phone call and put with that account so they can go back and look for future reference and such. I know someone that recently stopped working for them and she said I quote "I will not work for a company that is dishonest, deceives, doesn't care about their clients, tries to screw them over, does NOT act in way insurance companies should or any company should, and treats people like criminals. We are here to help not to screw people over. But State Farm does just that. Their clients pay extremely high prices but cant use their insurance half the time because State Farm is trash and wants to fight every claim that's filed. I have morals and values and working for them makes me look bad. I can't believe the things they are doing to people and the way they are treating people. I WILL not work for a company that is more than greedy, takes advantage of people and manipulates people. I'm thinking about calling the Better Business Bureau and I encourage you all to as well!" I know for a fact (from another person I know that currently works there and is getting ready to quit because of that horrible things State Farm does) that they will do absolutely anything and add fake charges to people's bills just to get extra money. So with that being said STATE FARM THIS IS WHAT I HAVE TO SAY TO YOU FOR SCREWING ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS OVER (especially ones like my family that have been with you for 60 plus years) AND NOT DOING RIGHT BY US. SCREW YOU. I HOPE THE WHOLE COMPANY GOES OUT OF BUSINESS AND IT REALLY SHOWS WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE YALL ARE. **Remember when you said you would drop me if I filed a very very small claim WELL HERES ME DROPPING YOU HORRIBLE PEOPLE.
