I paid the.$0.95 for a one time search on the 4th of Month. 8 days later I was checking my bank balance and low and behold there is a charge for $26.95 from Spokeo. I called and was told that they would cancel the recurring monthly charge.
Yes that helps me in the future but they will not refund my money now. I will be contacting my bank to see if they can help.
I told the service representative that it should be in writing where I paid the ninety-five cants that they have a monthly charge once you put in your credit card.
I never would have looked up the phone number.

I was in need of a name to identify a phone #. SPOKEO Website popped right up! After giving proper information. Bammm! My mission was accomplished! But, I didn't read te fine print. Sooo, a few days later a Charge was placed on my card to pay them for monthly bill. I wasn't ready to go full speed ahead. Immediately called SPOKEO, got a Live Agent. I took advantage of their $0.95 trial offer to check a phone number that I was concerned was involved with Medicare fraud. Apparently hidden somewhere on one of their web pages presented was a notification that I was also being signed up for a continuing subscription service. I didn't find this out until I got my credit card bill and was charged $24.95 instead of the expected $0.95 (this was for the original lookup and the first month with 7 days "free"). Very deceptive and a completely useless service for anyone that needs to look up a single telephone number.

Answer: Watch for the $20 charge at the end of the month. They say a person is out, then the charge comes a month later. Had to cancel my card and get new # to keep them out of my wallet.
Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
