Quality merchandise

Very well made dresses, comforters and sheets. Incredible sales if you catch it right since they allow mailing list coupons to be used on top of their sales prices. Items quickly shipped and usually have arrived about 10 days later, although sometimes in separate packages.

I am shocked at the poor reviews and question if they are real. Never had an issue with Soft Surroundings. If I had to say something critical it would be their size runs large.

I have been trying for over 4 years to get this horrible company to stop sending me catalogues. They come at least every month, sometimes more. I have written, emailed, called numerous times, to no avail. They have promised many times that I won't get another catalogue, but sure enough, they keep on coming. What a sad, sad thing for our planet. What a horrid company.

Their shopping services are so outdated….
Product sizes are off and overpriced.
Returns require filling out paper forms ….
Called customer service, reached India, asked my question three times … in reference to status of return. Answer was " you will get an email "
Finally got information after sending an email.
They have lost this customer.
On line shopping made difficult. Not up to current standards.

Poor customer service
April 19, 2023

Unable to accommodate order changes prior to the item shipping. I tried to get my orders shipped to the store two days before shipping and I was told I could not it was too late even though the item had not shipped. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told I could not no one was available. I would be cautious ordering from this store.

The package is still in my car. 3 dollar stores did not process soft surroundings and the fedex store was not at the delegated location address! Your customers should not have to go through that to return merchandise. I have spent thousands of dollars at soft surroundings; however, I will no longer Sharp at soft surroundings or any store owned by your conglomerate. AND JUST LOOK AT YOUR 2 rating that backs my experiences.

Soft Surroundings lost a customer
April 10, 2023

I will no longer purchase from Soft Surroundings. The reason is that they have a policy that prevents them from including a U.S. Post Office Box number in a shipping address and do not disclose that the default UPS shipping method delivers the item to a U.S. Post Office. The Post Office in my town is unable to deliver to my physical address. When I spoke to Soft Surroundings representative Mics, I was told that Soft Surroundings policy prohibited a shipping address that included a P.O. Box number, EVEN WITH a physical address. The Post Office would accept an address in the form of:
Person Name
P.O. Box #####
Physical Address
Anytown, Any State, Postal Code

The item I purchased was a birthday gift for my wife. The refusal of Mics to problem solve, instead of stubbornly citing the policy of the company would not allow a US Post Office Box number to appear in an address has cost Soft Surroundings this customer.

As a suggestion for others, and for Soft Surroundings, the Soft Surroundings website should clearly state despite a UPS shipping method, UPS delivers to the nearest United States Post Office for delivery of the item AND that Soft Surroundings will not ship to any address containing a US Post Office Box number.

What a shame. Now, I am out a birthday gift for my wife. Thank goodness they refunded my money and cancelled my catalog subscription.

Online buyer beware

Bought 2 tops for the first time from Soft Surroundings. They didn't fit. My credit took too long and was $20 less than total cost due to their shipping fees and $7.95 return shipping label fee! Will never be shopping with them again!

Cancellation

I have been an avid shopper of Soft Surroundings and frequently recommended it to others over the years. I recently had two orders cancelled. I emailed the first time my order was cancelled with no response. The second time my order was cancelled, I called. The customer service person requested that I call back and speak with a supervisor the following day. He was unable to tell me why my orders were cancelled... yet the charges are still pending on my credit card. Very poor experience. It will be a wonder if they are able to stay in business with poor communication and poor service for loyal customers.

I returned a pair of pants on July 22nd. Got an email on August 2 stating that they had recieved my return and that my card would be credited. Called on August 19th because I still have not received the credit. The rep stated that they "have been having a technical problem and that I should get the refund either next week or the week after". I call BS! I told her, I will call on Monday, if I do not have a refund I will challenge the charge. It is ridiculous to wait a month for a refund that is handled electronically. Will never order from this over priced place again!

What a horror show
July 27, 2022

I placed an order on May 29. Paid $9 for shipping that took 2 weeks. I was on vacation when the order finally arrived (clothes were supposed to be for my trip). When I tried on the clothes the fit was terrible. The pants were tiny in the waist and huge on the hips. The size S shirts were huge.

So I returned the entire order. They received the return on July 8. Paid another $8 in shipping for the return. Today is July 27. I still have no credit. I didn't even get a confirmation of the return. Thank goodness I saved the tracking info.

Not to mention I called CS twice and not only were they not helpful, but their attitude was basically tough $hit. It's like they think they're selling gold bars or diamonds.

So over 2 months and still pending. Had to file a dispute with PayPal to get my refund. Save your money and shop at Nordstrom, JCrew, Amazon or any other legit retailer that offers free fast shipping and halfway decent customer service.

Another good business gone bad by cutting quality, value and service for short terms gains on the bottom line... I ordered a button front top "final sale" item online. I checked the size measurements carefully to be sure that it would fit since it could not be returned. I never considered that I would receive a defective item!
One side of the front is almost a full inch shorter than the other side and the buttons do NOT match the buttonholes on the other side. The defect is SO OBVIOUS I wonder how it got past "quality control"... apparently, there is NO "quality control".
The Soft Surroundings label is sewn in crooked... in the past, a defective garment would have the label cut out (a reputable company does NOT want to be associated with defective merchandise) and be sold off as an "irregular" to discounters or overstock businesses. Instead, Soft Surroundings has sacrificed any reputation for quality for a short term gain that will eventually cause them to close their doors... just like many other BADLY managed businesses... I'm going to take sewing lessons and make my own clothes, I will not wear this kind of garbage. Shame on these folks for expecting customers to pay for their mistakes!

I placed a phone order. Several mistakes were made with this order. Worse than this was the response I received from 2 different customer service representatives who were rude and more concerned about excusing and defending their mistakes and poor service than with making me a satisfied customer. I will never make a purchase again even though I like the clothing. It is not worth it and this company does not deserve my business.

Just want to give a shout out to Amy at the Southlake, TX store. I called the store when I could not get my dress size on line. Amy called different stores to find the dress size and within minutes I
Was in touch with Gabriella in San Antonio who sent out the dress that day. (Friday) and I received it on Monday!
Wonderful ladies! Thank you for your great service.
I will always shop at the Southlake store.
Work ethic and customer service is alive and well!

I bought 2-130.00 dresses ( plus size Kara dress). They dont carry plus sizes in the store here, so I had them shipped free to the store, I ordered 2 diff sizes as wasnt sure as the size in 2 diff colors. 1 was too big, so I exchanged it at the store and they ordered the smaller size, Which I had to pay for AGAIN and wait for the return. In the meantime I wore the one I took one home and it grew as the day went by. So when my new order came in the store, I had them send it back for a even smaller size, and again HAD TO BUY another one and wait for the refund! Also when I went to pick my dress up on my lunch hour, I was told they didnt have it. I asked them to recheck to see if it was under my first name, I was told it wouldnt be under my first name, so I asked them again to check and was told there was nothing under my first name, so I left, called customer service, and later got a email telling me I did it to myself because I put my name backwards. She said it came last name, first name. I called the store, and again the lady I spoke with at the store reiterated that I did this. I said well I asked you 3 times to check first and last name, and you said you did. She laughed. They are snooty, Snarky and the 800 number is the same. I bought 2 dresses at 260.00. Now I have a extra $260.00 invested in exchanges and its been 9 days since the first exchange and no money returned to my card. The dress also has no care tag on it as to how to wash. I was told it was in the dress somewhere, When I challenged her to show me because i looked, she didnt even respond. I will never by from them again!

I recently went to pick up an item ordered at Danbury, CT location. When I arrived I noticed a sign "20% off entire store". I asked if I could also take advantage of this sale (was a full price item). The manager came out of the back, with food in her mouth, berating me with an extremely condescending tone, yelling that because the store is liquidating, this was not permitted. I asked if I could receive the 20% off if I returned the item and repurchased it. She became extremely belligerent saying the item would not be available to repurchase for 2 weeks bc they would need to steam the item for display in the store before I could repurchase it. Needless to say…I returned the item and will never be returning to Soft Surroundings again. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I have two dresses from them, and both are crap. The first one,(Jemaa Dress #2CU83) I got last year and it pilled after just two times wearing it. The second, (#2EJ******* Live Soft Reawaken dress), I just received today, after waiting almost two weeks for it to arrive. The color was way off from what was depicted in the catalog. The dress was a dark slate blue v/s the light baby blue shown in the picture. The fabric was thin, and it did not fit well-baggy on top, too snug on the bottom. Their styles are so tempting, but beware!

I have been a Soft Surroundings shopper for a few years, but not any longer. I recently purchased an item that I was not satisfied with. Thinking it would be easier to use return label and mail item back. I did just that. A week after mailing it back I called customer service (there was no tracking number since it was picked up from USPS by FEDX) and began my first phone conversation with a totally incompetent rep., this person told me item had arrived at their location and would be processed in a few days. I asked about total refund... purchased item was $84.97. Was told refund would be $74.39. I question that amount because I read $7.95 was cost of returning. This rep. Told me the difference was for a tax on the shipping label! At that point I ended the conversation. I was not going to waste my time with this person. I watched my credit card for about 10 days and still no refund. So I tried calling customer service again. This person was equally as incompetent as previous... and when I strongly suggested I speak with a supervisor I was told I would be told nothing different. That it takes time for refund. At this point I was waiting 19 days.
Later same day I tried a different customer service number and spoke to a rep that had a brain. Or so I thought. I was told credit would show on my credit card ($77.02) within a day or two. This morning I checked my credit card and there was a credit from Soft Surroundings... only problem is it is for $66.44! I have no idea how that number was determined and at this point nor do I care... I will never do business again with this company. And I suggest any potential shoppers be careful with this company...

I have been a long life customer for more than 16 years. I place 3 different order recent and get cancelled without notifying me, I even get charge my credit card. Email and call customer services and no action has been taken. So, unhappy, unacceptable and they lost me for life, I wouldn't imagine to go this review but I wanted to share my experience despite my love of soft surrounding but they left me no choice, but bad test in my mouth.

This is the second time I've come across this issue with Soft Surroudings. The items photograph beautifully, so I thought I'd give them another chance. I looked at a top - it was on sale for $19 in a size XL and $50 in a 1X. I called customer service and got the run around - everything from "we'll make I. T. aware of the error" to "It's our policy". Furthermore, was shocked to see they charge for shipping no matter the size of the order and will charge a handling fee as well as return shipping if something doesn't work out. So, the person who orders an XL and likes her purchase will pay $28, the person who orders a 1X and doesn't like her purchase will pay almost the same for NOTHING. No thanks - there are too many other retailers out there who offer great products with free shipping and excellent customer service.
