I was charged for the membership renewal without prior notice. When I realized it, I cancelled quickly on the website. They refused to give me a refund as it was not within seven days. My credit card company would not cancel the charge referring to their terms of service. But they say that you can use your account if you were charged for the period remaining but they want to charge me again. I have now sent three emails without any answer as to why I cannot at least use my account. This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I have automaticf renewals with other companies and they ALWAYS send a notice before charging. Do not deal with this company, they should be fined for improper practices.
Skillshare is being used to allow our technical staff to explore new skills and build on existing skills. While the whole organization has access, software engineers and data team members primarily use it. We want to give our staff the tools to continue their education and training, but with budget and time constraints, more formal education offerings just aren't possible at this time. Skillshare has been a good alternative.
So far since the middle of 2013 I've enrolled in two classes. The first class had the date pushed back 3 times (with no warning, and emailing the company got no response), before it was cancelled. They gave back the money for the class, and with that I enrolled in another class. So far, this class has ALSO had the date pushed back 3 times. No representatives have reached out, no emails have been responded to, and all of the questions from other people enrolled in the class have gone unanswered. I've had nothing but bad experiences with them so far, and at this point if the class is cancelled, I just want my money back. They've so far proven to be unreliable, and terrible at public relations.
I signed up for 0.99 cents 3 months membership, watch some courses to see the quality of videos and teaching methods, It's OK. I cancelled my membership after a week to avoid further charges to my account. And even after they charged my credit card the $96, i tried to get some documentation that my account was really closed. They refuse to communicate. So i had to terminate my credit card with the bank to avoid additional future charges. This is one slick racket.
I'm from Brazil and I forgot to cancel the trial. As I made the monthly subscription, I am not ineligible to a refund. The price seems low, but the dollar is absurdly expensive at the moment, due the crises, and I just can't afford it right now. I was really considering signing up as soon as I could, but after this, I'm probably not going to. This is absurd and im totally disappointed.
I'm very happy with SkillShare. I've been using it for almost 2 years now. I started out with their HTML course as a refresher. I transitioned into learning JavaScript and Java. I'm using Skillshare to keep refreshed on the latest in each language and to learn new languages to grow my capabilities.
Skillshare is a solid platform that teaches you about different kind of technologies in a very unique way, I personally used this to learn new technologies, programming, app development and more things like website development related stuff. I used this as free user and I have nothing left to say more than this is one of the best education platforms I've used and I've used a couple out there like Coursera, PluralSight, and this is actually really good. Quality content is one of the main things here, you'll never see something
Without having properly preparation before, also practices area really effective so you don't learn just by watching or listening, you learn by trying what you already learned.
I think Skillshare is broad and inspiring. I love how I can touch up on my guitar skills and then learn something completely new on creative programs. I have finished 90% of classes feeling extremely satisfied.
I had signed up for skillshare for the free 2 month trial. I was charged 99 dollars that I don't have immediately after the trial ended. I know this happens but why isn't there a reminder? I had cancelled my premium membership but it seems that I am still being charged a full year. I only signing up for the trial to try skillshare but now, I am 99 dollars. I have contacted skillshare's email before. 4 times. And was replied with the "our team will get back to you as soon as possible" it could be true but I have checked, I waited for a lot but I have received no reply from anyone from their team. I have never felt so cheated and I asked for a refund in all the emails.
Hi Rachid — I'm sorry to hear you haven't heard back from our team! Please double check the spam filter in your email inbox to make sure our response didn't end up there. Also feel free to send me a private message here with your email address, and I'll make sure someone on our team contacts you soon.
I joined skillshare premium and it has been so useful! However a few days ago I got billed $99 over 4 times in one day essentially cleaning my bank account out and my bank thinking it was fraud(Which essentially it was) closed my account due to suspicious activity. I mailed skillshare explaining my situation and a woman mailed me back and i quote "Thanks for reaching out! As requested, I've gone ahead and made sure your membership "
1 i didnt ask to cancel my account
2 you still owe me my money
I messaged them asking them what they would need from me to do a refund on the excess amount and have heard nothing back from them...
Be warned, they are relentless in accessing membership fees without notice. Additionally, the membership fees are variable and you could see different pricing from others. The staff that handle membership complaints, and refund process, are trained to avoid and delay the complaints about unauthorized charges by all means.
As for the quality of classes... that's content.
As for the quality of the company... duplicitous.
It has good lessons for a lot of subjects. I learned a lot from Skillshare and continue to do so. I'm a bit busy with studies soi haven't had the opportunity to fully make use of the site. And I'll be renewing the subscription in time for me to fully invest my self in digital arts and I've already saved the classes for this. It's a pretty good place to learn as the videos are done in a pro way with good quality in recording and teaching. This is one thing that lacks in most similar sites. So if you maintain this quality it'll be a total winner.
I was not impressed with what they had to offer during the trial. The classes they offered were easily found on you tube or google for free. I accidentally renewed my subscription because they did it send me a notice to remind me and wouldn't refund my money.
The best part about Skillshare is the staff. They are real people who work hard to make themselves accessible. Company created great culture the community surrounding Skillshare has blossomed into an invaluable resource. Everyone, including Ryan, teachers, staff, users and user-moderators, are willing to help on technical and nontechnical questions. The community makes the difference and keeps me coming back.
Loads of courses in almost every area thinkable. From Indesign to Sales, Powerpoint to android programming. Drawing, languages. Name it and it is there.
This is better than your Netflix subscription and you learn something too.
I'd happily recommend this to anyone looking to learn coding or any other technical skill that they offer a course in. Keeping my skills up to date and developing new ones to keep my skills relevant in the market.
The content is good and provided from some of the best universities
And companies in their respective fields.
It has expanded my knowledge in some domains.
Helped to get a job from skills which I learnt from this platform.
I love discovering new classes, skills and wonderful new teachers and artist at Skillshare. I feel like it's an additional art degree that you can take at the comfort of your own house. Or even your favorite coffee house.
Before making the first payment you may rethink your purchase decision multiple times but once you try out the Premium features, you'll be glad that you decided to go with it. You may as well be more than satisfied.
Skillshare has a huge collection of educational material that is
Accessible in a very interactive manner.
It has a large library of course material and training videos.
Some of the content for fast evolving technologies should be updated
Quicker in my opinion.
