Briefly I purchased a PHOTO BLANKETwhich cost $69! It was for my son's birthday so I swallowed the price. I am so disappointed with the thinness and the color quality of this blanket! The quality has gone down. Also my post it note is not correct but because I didn't check it it got printed with the mistake. It was a spacing issue. I am considering to shop elsewhere, though I love the products Shutterfly offers.
Shutterfly is amazing, though they could improve their mobile website to be more user friendly, their editing process needs work as it's pretty glitchy. Their prices are very reasonable for their product.
Their only issue is their shipping is INSANE, they are a large enough successful company to lower or do away with their shipping costs all together. At the very least lower the minimum price for free shipping.
The shipping prices is where they get you, they overcharge big time for shipping.

I called last week to shutterfly because I was not happy with the photo book that came in the mail. When I called to let them know and the customer service representative said would credit my credit card. I called them today to ask why my credit card was not credited. They made me wait 45 minutes before a manager answered the line. I cannot believe that they would. Make a customer wait that long on hold. Never in my life has that happened. When the manager came back on the phone she said sorry we don't give refunds.
The areas on my photo that were white came out yellow. It didn't even match the photo I uploaded, so I had to request a reprint, which means I have to wait another two weeks to receive my photos. Not sure why it takes two weeks to print a photo and stick it in the mail, but they need to come up with a better system for getting photos out within a reasonable amount of time.
They advertise as image storage, but once you upload - you can not get your images back easily. One at a time or they offer a complicated email delivery option of batch 500 at a time. I have over 5000 images and I have no way to get them unless I want to try and remember which 500 I had sent to me. This is insane and theft in my opinion.
I ordered a double sided pillow with pictures of my dogs on either side. The picture of the dog I submitted that was taken straight on and level turned out great as a print on the pillow. The other picture I submitted was taken from looking down at my other dog. That print turned out to be awkward. That side only looks good from looking down at the pillow. My dogs head looks giant and rolled backwards at the top of the pillow. I (now) understand why this happened, but I wish the website gave better instructions about what photo angles would work best.
If you are a Canadian placing an order, think twice.
I placed an order & no where did it state the prices were in USD, a $279 dollar order ended up being $375 Canadian, order in Canada you will find comparable prices & the same or better quality. We shall see if they actually do something with the feedback that was provided so other Canadian customers don't get the same surprise I did
Shutterfly completely messed up the cropping on my 2017 holiday cards. They admitted to the mistake and insisted on only giving me a 50% off code for another order in the future. I can get that at Retailmenot.com in a nanosecond, with the rest of the world! Next email offered me a full credit for price paid into a Shutterfly account to spend on whatever I wanted at Shutterfly. About 5 emails later they FINALLY offered me a refund but I have to ship the cards (that they screwed up) back to them and I have to pay shipping? Very poor quality cards and extremely poor customer service. Do not use Shutterfly for ANY reason! They will screw up your cards (that you spend hours on to get just right) and offer you little or no customer service and compensation, even after they admit their mistakes. BEWARE!
I'm an experienced photographer & have documented numerous trips with photo books. Shutterfly is the most frustrating, non-intuitive &challenging site I've ever encountered. I've just spent more than one hour per page completing a book which still didn't give me what I wanted, and I was charged an up-charge to boot! Rather than cancel the order and start over (for the FIFTH time!) I just confirmed the purchase to be done with it. I've had far better experiences with Snapfish and swear to NEVER-EVER use Shutterfly again!
Placed an order Dec 2nd. They committed delivery Dec 20-22. On Dec 20, they email me & tell me it won't be delivered by Christmas & give me a $10 coupon. Seriously? Not enough time to replace the gift & no gift to give on Christmas. Will NEVER use them again for my holiday cards or gifts. Shame on you Shutterfly!
Shutterfly shipping costs are extremely high. Usually cost double what your your purchase did. Sometimes they offer free shipping, but if you do that, they will sit on your order for 2 weeks and when you ask what's going on they will tell you that you should have paid for expedited shipping... Absolute garbage.
My print was delivered damage. It appears to have happened during shipping as the envelope was heavily damaged. It was incredibly important to me to have a replacement quickly... in less than 48 hours. Well, Shutterfly rallied and produced the print to my door! Everyone was professional and understood the urgency. I am delighted
The customer service folks have been great every time i have had to call them, which, unfortunately has been often. So though I have had no problem with the customer service folks at all, I am deeply dissatisfied by the actual product provided by Shutterfly. First, my order was extremely late, even though I paid the maximum to get it rushed. Then the order was unusable when it arrived. Then the supposed re-print with quality control check came with exactly the same problem as the first order. Then the next time I called and we adjusted the order to make it even more clear, the order was not actually ordered, making it necessary for me to call a FOURTH time. This is ridiculous. There is something wrong with the process in my opinion. I hope they can fix this in the future.
I paid extra money for fast shipping so my order would be delivered within 3-5 days. It wasn't delivered until a week and a half later.
If you can't fulfill a fast delivery, do not make it an option. The extra money paid for fast shipping should be refunded to the customers if you cannot complete their request.
You guys are terrible. Pics all crazy, cut off, just aweful. Customer service wouldn't send me the correct images or refund me. I paid for creepy little pictures of my sons' eyes, mouths and noses only. No chins, no necks. Good Job shutterfly.
I recently ordered 101 pictures through a promotion on Shutterfly. I spent hours flipping through pictures to select 101. Got the pictures and the quality is not clear, and almost every single picture looks cropped or zoomed in. Most of the pictures are garbage because no one wants a zoomed in picture of their face taking up the entire picture. For example, I had an original picture of myself and 2 family members. Everyone's full face was in the picture, down to about mid chest. In the print I got from shutterfly the picture was zoomed in on mainly the center person, and only half of each face was shown for the people standing on the end. Not happy.
Nice features and easy to use, but lots of bugs. The editing even froze and never recovered. I had to switch to another photo book company and restart all the photo uploading and editing. Customer service could go either way (defensive or apologetic) but the end result is the same: the reported bugs never got fixed.
They engage in deceptive advertising, their apps are not what they claim and dont let them pressure you with short deadlines sales like, hurry for 40% off when itll be 50% the next day. Which is not a great deal as they are horribly over-priced. I personally wrestled with their damn app for days, finely sent off the book with rush shipping (within the by Xmas deadline) only to find out it will not arrive by Xmas. Contacted customer service, who did not care. Didnt even apologize. Ruined my Christmas plans. Will NEVER trust or use this site again. There are other options.

Install a third browser just to be able to get the photos on the site.
