Shutterfly's reputation reflects a mix of strong product quality and significant customer service challenges. Many users appreciate the quality of photo books and personalized items, often highlighting the durability of products. However, recurring complaints about service delays, order inaccuracies, and inadequate customer support overshadow these positives. Customers frequently report issues with refunds, communication breakdowns, and technical difficulties on the platform. This blend of satisfaction with product quality and frustration over service reliability suggests a need for Shutterfly to enhance its customer service approach to improve overall customer experience and retention.

No idea what Shutterfly has changed in their software, but I have ordered by Christmas cards from here for more than 5 years and this year my photos won't stay saved, my projects don't save, and it's been impossible to actually create what I want and place an order in an acceptable amount of time. Horrible experience this year. I'm going to have to look elsewhere for my cards.
I am shocked about the decline of the quality of their Christmas card prints. Have been ordering for over 10 years and the quality was always good. Spent a bundle in cards this year and I'm they look like photos printed on newspaper. Absolutely terrible quality. They must be cutting corners while charging more. Should have just gone to Walmart or Walgreens. Same quality.
Just received a full refund.
Ordered three ornaments. Navigated the site as best I could, editing photos in my library when no edit or crop options appeared to be available in the app. After getting the pics into the designated spots on the ornaments in a pleasing manner, I purchased them. I was excited to receive them! Unfortunately two of the three ornaments arrived with off centered pictures. Frustrating for sure. Went back to site to redo and realized that you can spend hours getting the project just right but once the item moves to your cart, the photos shift. No edit or crop options and, apparently, no save button either. I started a chat with customer service only to get generic answers and multiple choice pop ups. I'm not giving up. I want a refund. So disappointing. If done right, they would have been great gifts.
Steer clear of Shutterfly. They use a shipper called innovation, which I have never heard of and my package was lost. Because of the shipper they use, you cannot get any assistance with locating your package. I have spent 2 hours on the phone trying to locate it to no avail.
This was my first time ordering from shutterfly and will also be my last.
Christmas cards came with a blank picture on them. I spent a lot of time designing and saving the order. The card has no picture on the front or back. I spent $122 on something not even usable.
This is the last time I use Shutterfly. The last order that I received from them arrived late, not tracked, and damaged. Shutterfly gives poor delivery estimates, so you can guarantee that the package will not arrive until 1-2 weeks after the latest delivery day estimate that they provide. Their packaging is a fragile cardboard sleeve, and when it arrived, it was bent, torn up, and ruined the contents. UPS is not to blame for Shutterfly's lack of packaging.
Despite their "100% satisfaction guarantee," Shutterfly makes it impossible to get a refund and has absolutely no customer service.
I used to be an avid user of Shutterfly. However, I am becoming more and more dissatisfied with their products. I cannot understand why the photobook editor was changed about a year ago. I never ever had issues with the last format, and now I have issues ALL the time. Currently, I am having issues uploading photos. They will upload to my album, but then when I go to upload them to a project, they upload and then delete. I utilized the assistance chat, and they told me to change browsers. However, I had switched to my current browser because I was having issues with the editor and was told to change. I have been encouraged to use the app versus the website, to no avail. There have been times where it has taken me longer than 30 minutes to edit ONE page. I was told to delete cookies. I did and it didn't help. NO JOKE, my husband purchased me a new laptop, thinking that it must be a computer issues. Unfortunately no. I will say that I love the calendar editor and hope beyond all hope that they never change that format. That is the only reason I gave it 2 stars. However, I will be looking for a new company for photobooks. I am so disappointed in that because I used to love this company.
I do like the books but had recently order some booked and due to service issues from their end I wasn't able to offer my last book. The virtual assistant guaranteed me I can order the following day and still get the 25% on top of the 40% which wasn't the case anymore. Long story short and a waste of almost 1h of my time nothing was done from there end. I never leave reviews, as I know some people just complain and I own my own small business, but clearly the head of this company doesn't care about the service anymore or honoured what was promised. Very disappointing, will look order in the future from others.
The first thing I discovered is that the Shutterfly app lacks text edit features that are available using the website. The second thing was that while a project done on the app is eventually available at the website, it doesn't show up hours for hours (like overnight). The next thing I discovered is that you can't use apostrophes in text boxes, so no contractions or possessive nouns. It's a service with a lot of unused potential, but it may be the best game in town.
I had professional photos taken for Christmas and ordered prints from Shutterfly. I just received them and I don't think I could be more disappointed. They are dull, with a brown tint and horrible quality. Shutterfly should be embarrassed. This isn't the first time I've been disappointed with them, but it will be the last. Don't waste your money.
I ordered a memorial blanket for my mom as a gift. My dad passed away in october. My mom is also terminal. The blanket was easy to make. I was excited for it to ger here so i could give it to mom. I got notification it was delivered, but got home and it was nowhere to be found. I posted on fb to neighbors, in case it was misdelivered, hoping someone found it and would contact me. I contacted customer service, not expecting much, because quite frankly, its not their fault ups messed up. They graciously told me that they would re print my order, and it arrived less than a week later. Its so amazing! Mom loved it, i loved it too...and the service was above and beyond. So thankful.
I have been satisfied with the Shutterfly products, but then you decided to use a reality star who has gotten rich by being famous. The family have few redeeming qualities. They tell people who are struggling to just get off their butts. They use their game to get ever richer. Perhaps she will influence many to use your products, but I will go elsewhere.
Black Friday promo / no discount given on order. 7 emails to customer service no reply - tried on line chat- over 82 min of hold … and no help. Davis and Lucy specifically were not helpful. They offer 100 percent happiness guarantee which they don't honor. I've asked over and over for a manger. No calls back. Do not use..
This was a matching game for my granddaughters I put in the pictures of my granddaughters and I did get about eight pictures with my granddaughters on them then I've got 14 blank cards
So I was to get 282 4×6 and what I got was164 and someone else pictures so I called and the woman was like would you like to reorder no I want what I done older and paid for. I ask did yal send my pictures to someone. I don't want someone else to have my family's pictures. I WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN. These pictures are not my family that I posted they belong to someone but I have them and Shutterfly don't care.
So I've been ordering things from Shutterfly for quite some time and I never had a problem occasionally I would have to reorder something because it would get lost in the mail but that was okay but I ordered a calendar for 2023 it got lost in the mail twice they sent me a third one the photos were all blurry and half of them were the ones that were on the other two calendars well the lady was really nice and customer service she gave me an $8.98 gift card for my next order and I'm like I'm not ordering from this place again at least not a calendar anyway
I receive so many promo codes for "free" items all the time. I've spent hours on projects, only to discover that the coupon codes don't apply, without the ability to read the fine print to know what does qualify. Shipping applies to "free" items and the rates are exorbitant. An order with multiple items arrive together, however shipping is charged separately for each item. Totally bogus. This site is basically a scam.
They have some cool looking templates to choose from for building your own 252 piece jigsaw puzzle and prices show slashed to starting from $19.99. I spent over an hour setting all of our photos in place to have a personalized jigsaw puzzle made and when I went to checkout, it charged me $34.98 for the puzzle. When I called (and waited on hold forever) I was simply told that those prices aren't always accurate. NOT HAPPY! Won't use them again!
I have been trying to order a personalized wall calendar from Shutterfly. I kept getting messages that the photos were blurry so I had it in my cart & worked on it for 5 days. It is a very time consuming & tedious task. The price had always been $17.99. I finally got it so that the photos were as clear as they could get. Imagine my dismay when I went to my cart & the price had jumped to $22.99. I live chatted with a CSR & she told me that the prices change routinely. I told her I thought it was because today is Cyber Monday. I used to use Collage.com. It was a much easier site to maneuver through & had better pricing. Unfortunately they were bought out by another business & they shut down. I told CSR that I would take my business elsewhere & that they were trying to rip people off. Shame on you Shutterfly!
8x11 Calendar Sale price $22.99
8x11 Photo Wall Calendar (12-months)-$17.99
I created a wedding photo album for my daughter, but the price was $489 when I was finished so I did not order it but went back several times looking at their sales over the last 7 months. NOW... they are offering a 50% DISCOUNT of now a cost of $535! If it was a 50% discount, the cost should be $244.50! I understand some price increase but thats over 100%. WHAT YOU are really doing is scamming your customers by upping the price to think they are getting a deal. SHAME SHAME ON YOU SHUTTERFLY.
