Shutterfly's reputation reflects a mix of strong product quality and significant customer service challenges. Many users appreciate the quality of photo books and personalized items, often highlighting the durability of products. However, recurring complaints about service delays, order inaccuracies, and inadequate customer support overshadow these positives. Customers frequently report issues with refunds, communication breakdowns, and technical difficulties on the platform. This blend of satisfaction with product quality and frustration over service reliability suggests a need for Shutterfly to enhance its customer service approach to improve overall customer experience and retention.

If you receive a promo code for a "free" anything from Shutterfly, beware that the promo code will likely not work and when you spend all your time uploading and cropping photos for the new free calendar before you realize that once in your Cart, it will say the promo code has expired, prior to the actual given expiration date. And, after more time spent with the online assistant, who said to try the promo code and it would work, it still did not work, after several tries and closing the Cart and trying again several times. FYI shipping and handling is not included with the "free" calendar regardless, so you pay over $8 for the free calendar if you are fortunate enough to get the promo code to deliver the promised free item.
Don't do business with this company. I ordered photo Christmas cards. When I received my order they cut off one person at the end. They told me they would not refund my money but I could place another card (costing me more money). I expressed my anger that they did not inform me the complete picture would not fit on the card before sending to print. So I have 60.00 spent on cards that I have to trash. Of course the work is outsourced and I had a very understanding the foreigner talking. Pitiful customer service. Do not use them. They will cheat you.
Shutterfly in the past used to be my go to photo service, recent purchases and redo's are very lacking.
I recently wrote a review of Shutterfly. They sorted out the problems and the site is great now. I can recommend it!
I can't believe u have the "superficial family" the fake Kardashians doing your commercials. I was about to order photos when I saw that.since I went on FB and made sure ny community was aware of u promoting fake over "real" family values.I will never order from u and will make sure everyone knows where u stand.fake people that r not your average American.
I spent $600 on christmas cards. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that Shutterfly would send out Christmas cards prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday. When I placed my order, they didn't have an option to designate when the preferred shipping date would occur. So, after I placed my order I contacted the customer service dept. via the online chat feature. I told the Rep. To not ship my cards prior to Thanksgiving. He said that he'd make sure to follow through on my request. Lo and behold, my christmas cards all arrived today. I paid extra and had Shutterfly send the cards directly to my people. Obviously, if the cards were sent to me directly and I was then going to send them out, it wouldn't have been an issue. But, I paid extra because it was worth it not to have to write down all the address and stamp all the envelopes. The Rep. Have me false info. The cards arrived way too early. This order was for my company, so the recipients are all of my loyal customers. They are calling me asking me why I sent them a christmas card in Mid Thanksgiving. My business partner, his wife and my wife and all pissed off at me that this order was screwed up. I go online to chat about it, and I'm told that there's nothing that can be done, and that Shutterfly "sincerely" apologizes for what happened. Apology not accepted!
Like that wicked fake woman and her spoiled brat entitled kids need more money while rest of us are struggling good job Shutterfly you lost alot of customers my family and my families businesses!
I spent a ton of time organizing a calendar for a Christmas gift. When I tried to order it the website said the item was discontinued. After spending an hour on the help chat the problem was not resolved. I had to redo all my work on another site. DONT waste your time and money.
Order was placed over 48 hours ago and it's still "order received"? Original arrival date was November the 12th and now it's the 17th...
Will never order anything from you again now that your spokeswomen is one of the Kardashians. You use someone who's worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The average Americans struggling to makes ends meet finds it hard to related. Its all about the almighty dollar. Really how much has she bought and payed for something from your company.
I have been buying their 8x10 canvas photos for years. This one I just got is sooo bad. Terribly put together. I can really see the difference in the quality when I hang it next to my other ones
Their qualify in the past few other items I have orders has also been poor. I am done with shutterly
I ordered photos that had a digital immage from lifetouch I was supposed to see that immage on Shutterfly but lifetouch had ordering problems apperantly maybe Shutterfly should drop lifetouch because lifetouch is bringing them and their name down. After I tried to purchase my photos lifetouch tried and they still didn't get ordered
Shutterfly uses "Mail innovations" for it's low-cost shipping option. In my experience, this is the worst of all shipping options available anywhere, and the next-best option is too expensive. If I'd known this was how Shutterfly shipped, I wouldn't have ordered from them.
I had to order the same enlargement twice! The first time, they printed the picture incorrectly and did a matte finish when I checked Pearl on the order. After speaking with CS I had to pay again for the picture to be printed correctly in Pearl because the order said Matte. I had two people watch me order the same picture with the pearl finish the second time. When I received the second picture the size was correct however they sent the glossy finish this time with a packing slip that said Pearl. Their process seems to be entirely automated and tends to screw up (twice). Customer Service was unhelpful and could not resolve my issue. Their 100% happiness guarantee is bunk. A real rip off!
I trusted Shutterfly to print a photo book for an important special event. I paid extra for expedited shipping to make sure that the book arrived on time. The delivery date was promised to be yesterday but the tracking still says it is awaiting pickup. I called yesterday and was assured it was shipped and on its way. I called today and spent an hour on the phone only to be disconnected. The representative didn't call back to continue assisting in resolving the issue. I called again this afternoon and after 45 minutes on the phone I was told it must be lost in shipping and would have to be reprinted. The new delivery date is after the date of the big event. Very disappointed in Shutterfly and will be using a different company for future orders.
What was once the best is now the worst. It's sad to see what has happened to Shutterfly. I began using them when they acquired Kodak Gallery, which produced far superior prints to what you could get at Walmart or CVS. But over the last two years, the service has deteriorated. First, they stopped sending you prints in any kind of order, which meant you had to re-sort all the prints Prior to mounting them in a photo album by using the print number and date on the back. Then, about a month ago, they stopped putting that information on the back of prints, even though, when you order prints, it still appears that they do. At the same time, the quality of the prints went way down, to the point where an ink jet printer can do a better job. On my latest order, which I simply tossed into the trash, the bright, clear faces are muddled, while my night shots, clear and black on my computer, are riddled with white dots. I sent the same batch of photos to Google, which is even cheaper, and the difference is astounding, although Google doesn't offer the glossy print option I prefer. I'm trying out various other services that might be more expensive, but Shutterfly prints, sadly, are so bad right now that I wouldn't even take them for free.
Well I thought I would give shutterfly a chance but very very disappointed.
My mom has Dementia and has been in a home for two years and I thought I would make her some books for her to see and remember family BUT the book I got of some family members the heads are cut off
And the book smells like animal food so I am not very happy with shutterfly I mean really I thought this was a good company I guess not
I ordered photos with Shutterfly for the first time. Photos were easy to order and arrived earlier than expected. On the down side the photos were printed on cheap printer paper. The same quality I can easily get at home. Then the quality of the photos was very disappointing. The quality was comparable to mediocre photos from the 90s. They lacked vibrancy and clarity. Due to this I doubt I will use them in the future.
Continued rising cost and thanks to the school they get their cut.
Shutterfly and all the names they use rips customers off, cheats them on discount codes and so much more.
Im sick of these idiot compa ies screwing us working families of our money.
I use to love shutterfly but now days its a joke.
The other day i get a code to get something and i set my cart up and it says its expired.
After spending hundreds within 1yr for 1 child they should be helping us.
I was using your service for many years now. Prints that I did several times lately where such a bad quality, printed on bad paper, faces almost unrecognizable. I am very disappointed, No one is checking quality, this is last time I used your service, costco will make better prints.
