I have no idea why a lot of negative reviews here. I rarely give reviews as I am a very busy person. A lot of people say they got ripped because Shop Smarter charged them $9.97 a month, which SS clearly stated that when you joined. I am so happy with them, YES- I pay $9.97/month but I get more than that with my rebate. I shop a lot online and I get 10% back all the time, which exceeds the $9.97 fees. This is legitimate and no scam! You have to read what you are getting into before you click that submit - so no problem at the end. I am very happy and I joined about 3 months ago, cost me less than $30, but got checks for $200+ already. I got proof, and hey- I am not part of them, and no Financial interest here, I am just telling the truth. As long as they exists, I will pay $9.97 a month. I just shopped in BJ's today for $250, and I will get $25 there right away- that is just one store. Do the math- you need to maximize your savings and always use their site. Don't pay monthly and never use them, then you LOSE money! Be smart! I fully recommend them!
I was offered a one time $10 discount at Bed Bath and Beyond on May/20. I did not sign up for a saving membership. I have been charged $79.76. I also never reviewed the $10 cash back as well. This company is truly a scam, and they should be ashamed of themselves. I want a $79.76 refund ASAP.

Purchased several things by the book according to their rules. Made several large purchases and had my discount not applied. Emailed customer service for them to tel me it will be between 2-8 weeks before issuing my discount. (If they didn't resolve the issue). 8 weeks later, after I had to reach out again, they said it was denied. They won't respond to my emails or calls. Garbage company and garbage people who make money scamming. DONT USE THIS CONPANY!

Although I made several phone calls, the stuff just kept telling me to wait. I have already waited for 3 months, none of my cash back has been received yet. Really do not recommend to join in this scam.

We were misleading to believe that $10 cash back was because of our single item purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond. If Shopsmarter.com was a legitimate company, this company was supposed to inform us any recurring fees, including its terms and conditions, right after asking us for our personal and credit card information —- However, this was not the way... What a cheater! We called and stopped Shopsmarter.com to take any further fees from us. We are still at loss of $2 even if the cash back of $10 would be sent to us.

I recently purchased a stroller/car seat from a known company and saw that I had a $10 cashback refund, I got onto shopsmarter.com where it was NOT made clear that it was a monthly subscription, so when I got onto my credit card account and saw I had two charges - 9.97 and 1.97 I was pretty mad. I know it wasn't made clear because if it was clear that it was a subscription, I would have never put my information in, and especially on a credit card.

They are low-life scammers. Don't trust. They shut down my account for no reason and no explanation. Every time I call, they are say they are "escalating" this to their management. Well, their management team is weak and spineless. They never call. They don't have the guts to. I've made several purchases with them to where my savings was close to $1,400.00. SmartSmarter has no business ethic's. Go with other discount websites. IT'S A SCAM. STAY AWAY!

They never contacted me and canceled my membership. They steal all my cash back. I have reported them to BBB and filed a law suite in the small claim court in NJ.

I gave this a try after a store I shop and trust recommended it. Mistake. I tested and they did not track. I offered all the info needed to complete. Still they "couldn't find it". Support is cut copy and paste. Finally out of 10 transactions three were approved after I pestered them several times. I cancelled the monthly payment, they closed the account and never sent the check with money owed. WASTE OF TIME.

DID A PURCHASE, DID NOT SHOW UP IN MY ACCOUNT. I CALLED AND THEY SAID THE CASH BACK FUNDS WILL BE ADDED TO MY ACCOUNT WITHIN 7 DAYS. Didn't know this company even existed til a couple days ago. While looking at transactions on my card, I saw the name. They did an unauthorized withdrawal of 9.97 & a couple days later another 9.97. WTF! $19.94. I got hard copies for the yr. Found they've been doing this since April. For a total of just under $90. I keep a close eye for anomalies. But I was looking for large transactions only. This showed me id got to look 1 x 1 who's taking what. Beware people! I'm disabled veteran & have a tight fixed budget so it hurts bigtime!

If there was a "0" star to check I would check it. After reading the many negative reviews, I tried to think of how I could have ever signed up for such a ridiculous offer. It must have been connected with a BBB online purchase, although I am very careful and did NOT subscribe. $9.97 has been appearing on my cc for almost a year and I have never received a $10 Welcome bonus or any cash back. How do I get my $100 refund?

Their offer popped up when I was making a purchase at Bed bath and beyond. It was I could pay $1.97 trial and then $9.97 after that. I'd get a $10 WELCOME BONUS and 10% cash back on my purchase. Well, I finally got the $10 Welcome Bonus. When I called and asked where my $30 check was from my purchase, they said the first purchase is only eligible for the welcome bonus. Wait, What?!? I asked where it says that. We spend 15 minutes on the phone looking for that information. It was nowhere. She then told me that's what she's supposed to tell people when they call. I was livid because it doesn't inform us of this information. I guess once you call looking for your check, you'll be informed about this "policy." BS. Also, my subsequent purchase was not there even though I sent proof of purchase. Then, I went to cancel my membership and she told me no refund because of several stores I shopped at. Those stores were stores I looked at through their site and never bought anything. I had to let her know that. This site is a total scam scam scam. Don't waste your time... it's not worth the money you won't get back.

In the initial months, they will pay as long as your reward is almost the same as the subscription fees. During quarantine time, I made a lot of purchases online and my last purchase was from best buy for a vacuum cleaner. They denied the transition citing that BestBuy did not accept the reward program. I had to cancel it promptly to make sure I am not in their scam anymore. I wonder what I was thinking when I added my credit card to this company. Anyways, I blocked the card and canceled the account. This company cannot do the business right and we should inform the consumer court regarding this crook company.

Alright so I just went to my bank account and noticed this "fee" about some shopsmart site I had never heard of. I checked and apparently I have had this account for many months because I'm out $30 for something I never even knew about, having maybe touched it because of a Bed Bath and Beyond purchase at best.
Filing a dispute with my card company because this is shady as hell and I have no interest in giving away money to this place.

Had multiple claims approved through ShopSmarter earlier this year, but have not had 4 claims approved since July. I have filed Missing Cash Back requestS, and have heard nothing from the company besides "we could find nothing wrong and you need to wait."
I have tried to call and chat and the customer service was TERRIBLE. Terrible chat experience. The agent did not seem to care about my issue and was not helpful. Knew very little and seemed like she just wanted to end the chat quickly.
I am beginning to think this site has become a scam which attempts to delay paying cashback for as long as possible while collecting the monthly fees.
