Was a big supporter on this site but not anymore. Realize coronavirus has stressed everyone out but I don't appreciate bad customer service with a couple of exceptions. Also fedex will not deliver to any 55 plus complex and exchange will not offer option to ship via UPS or USPS only. Fedex didn't even bother to advise me they won't deliver for over a week and your customer service couldn't bother to call me back as to what to do, if anything. Now I have to order all my needs from Amazon at higher prices for the most part plus CA sales tax. I'm in my mid 80's, no longer drive and very disappointed I can no longer shop here until the virus abates and fedex delivers again which may be several months away.
I think it's pretty $#*!ty how they make you wait on a phone call for a job knowing you're in need of one just for them not to call you. Pretty $#*!ty management.
I bought a couch 3 months ago from shopmyexchange and after a mistake by the delivery people never delivering my items, I am still fighting to get a refund. They also tried to charge me $225 as a "restocking fee" without ever notifying me. One star is one too many.
Ordered furniture and it took months not to receive it. First order the item was broken and sent back which delayed delivery even longer. No communication from them. Ordered same item for son as gift... The item was lost this time and I wasn't notified. Didn't know item was lost until I received an email stating a new order was placed for the item without my consent. What a nightmare. Will never order from them again.
There is NOTHING cheaper on shopmyexchange than anywhere else. I have looked and compared hundreds of items and you can always find it cheaper somewhere else. Most of the time at Walmart or Target. Sure, no tax at shopmyexchange. But would you rather save $20 on tax and wait 2 or 3 weeks for your item... rather than just go to Walmart and get it instantly... not to mention what if something is wrong with it and you have to return it? Going back to a store is a lot less hassle than trying to send a product back through the mail. There is NOTHING special about the Exchange.
I ordered a bedroom set. It was delivered and I started to put it together and noticed there wasn't a slot on one of the legs on the foot board. One of the legs was missing for the drawers. I spoke to customer service they informed me it would be 3 to 5 business days. In the mean time we have no bedroom to use. Our spare bedroom has all of our stuff for our bedroom and no room to put anything. Also everything was delivered except the long dresser. But they did deliver the mirror for it.
I saw a TV and soundbar in my local BX. Went home to do cost and model comparisons and decided the models I saw were what I wanted. Instead of going all the way back to the store, I purchased them online and opted for "in store pick up". Website says orders will be ready in 1 day if in stock... 5 days later, I still haven't been told my order is ready for pick up.
We ordered a washer and dryer on Oct 28 got the washer 2weeks later then got the dryer 2weeks after that. It took one month for the dryer. The dryer came with no legs. I called Shopmyexchange and they told me the only thing they could do is email the place that they ordered the dryer and have them send me the legs. They have no phone numbers to call this place. How do you not have a phone number?!? I have to wait 48 hrs for the email to even be seen and then wait for them to ship it. The "manager" that I spoke with was rude and lied about being the only manager working and that she had no one higher then her to talk to. I know this because I called back after talking to the manager to find out if what she said was true. Save yourself the time and hassle and purchase from somewhere else. The customer service department is a joke. No above and beyond here.
They constantly mess up people's orders, their website will say they have something in stock, you buy it, then wait two weeks to find out that they cancelled your order all because oh wait, they didn't actually have it in stock when you placed the order. They suck. Plain and simple. Prices might be competitive sometimes and every now and again they have awesome deals but that's all they have going for them. That and the fact that it's tax free.
I have so much respect for the shopmyexchange crew. They do everything they can to make things right if need be. I have had a great experenece with these wonderful people. I just spent over 10k to fill my new house. Yes there were a few issues. BUT, The shopmyexchange crew took my issues and resolved them quickly and I am immpressed by the service recieved. Thank you to all of those involved in making things perfect!
If I could rate this 0 stars I would. As new home owners we bought our first bbq grill to host a house warming party. We noticed a piece missing from the charcoal starter. We called customer service to report the defect where they said, "We can't do anything about that because they aren't the manufacturer". Second, If we wanted to return the product and get a refund we would need to pay shipping and restocking fee of $95. The other option was to buy another fire starter from the Exchange. Either way it was going to cost extra from our pockets. My husband decided to keep it and work with the defected grill to save money and had gotten burned from the charcoal starter.
2nd order was for a dining set to go in our breakfast bar room. Only table arrived. Chairs were sold separately. However, the ad was very misleading as both chairs and table was shown with the price. (Be careful, they purposely use this tatic many times to trick cistomers). We called customer service to return the dinning table (unopened) and was told it would cost us $95 to return. Or, buy the 4 matching chairs for an extra $300. Totaling over $500 for the set. Well, customer service was on the phone arguing with us for an hour with a very stink attitude of "it sucks to be you". I asked the manager what she would do if it were her pocket book... she sighed, paused, and wanted to "move forward" with our conversation.
So much for helping a service member of 20 yrs.
Too funny. I had the same experience: unable to log in or reset my password. I could not enter my dob (required) on the reset page from an iPad. Thought I would do them a favor by calling (you can't email or chat unless you logged in). She first accused me of doing it wrong, then admitted that the site is built for Chrome. I guess they only want half the business...
Could not log into my account. Was told I had to have a laptop or desktop, and could not log in from an iPad. When they decide to join the 21st century, I may try again.
I tried to order items from the Philippines, The agent wanted a call and this is not possible. She would not help me or listen to me. I wanted to buy some medical stuff because its so expensive here, thats if you can find it. So i have to suffer now because the shopmy exchange wll not help a retired vet. Go to hell!
I never ordered or would consider ordering furniture online BUT this is the Exchange after all & their in store stock is limited. I ordered Ashley furniture in 2012 the Sofa & Chairs had broken support boards when it arrived but who tears into their newly delivered furniture to inspect it: I paid someone to come look at it & repair it at AAFES direction & then they refused to reimburse me until I took it all the way up the chain. Then they told me to give it to CHARITY & they would credit the STAR CARD Acct! Fast forward & this is the problem with giving second chances... I ordered Ashley Furniture AGAIN shipped through a different freight company. The items arrive there is saw dust all up & down one side of the fabric. Not going through that rodeo again I call to return it ~ They won't pick it up - I have to pay to freight it back! Oh & the items I bought & received on 11/2/15 when on sale on 11/7/15 ~ I asked for an acct adjustment for the sale & promo offer ~ they literally were going to make me either A) Pay the return freight & I'd have to re-order it or B) take it to my Exchange return it & repurchase it to get the sale price & promotional APR! UNBELIEVABLE - Once bitten twice shy... what was I thinking?!?
Some items on sale have the best price you can only imagine.
The only disadvantage is the website shows items which are out of stock. In my opinion they should be not shown at all or have a tag during search
