I purchased a simple, basic toaster from AAFES. Upon opening, I noticed brown stains on the outer coating, as well as a burning smell while being used which never subsided. The appliance had been repackaged at one of their warehouses and resold. How they get away with sending used goods labeled as brand new, I'll never know. The free shipping option with the Star Card isn't worth it.

The appliance had been repackaged at one of their warehouses and resold. How they get away with sending used goods labeled as brand new, I'll never know.

The free shipping option with the Star Card isn't worth it.

Have purchased from them once. Won't ever do it again. Bought an item and paid for premium delivery service. Didn't receive it. Took two weeks and 3 phone calls to get it credited back off my card. Waited two weeks for another item to arrive website said was in stock so just cancelled (same phone call as above). They charged me anyway. Took more than a month and 6 calls/2 emails to get charge removed. Been 4 months and still trying to get Military Star payments straightened out. STAY AWAY!

When I ordered something on sale it goes out of stock and they cancel my order or it's allegedly damaged in shipping; either way I never get the sales item so I think it's a scam and the sales items don't even exist and when you call to complain all they want to do is try to sell you same item at a higher price now because the sales item allegedly went out of stock the instant you purchased it. I complained to the inspector generals office and all they do is refer you back to shop my exchange.com so apparently they're in on it too…..

Was a big supporter on this site but not anymore. Realize coronavirus has stressed everyone out but I don't appreciate bad customer service with a couple of exceptions. Also fedex will not deliver to any 55 plus complex and exchange will not offer option to ship via UPS or USPS only. Fedex didn't even bother to advise me they won't deliver for over a week and your customer service couldn't bother to call me back as to what to do, if anything. Now I have to order all my needs from Amazon at higher prices for the most part plus CA sales tax. I'm in my mid 80's, no longer drive and very disappointed I can no longer shop here until the virus abates and fedex delivers again which may be several months away.

Some items on sale have the best price you can only imagine.
The only disadvantage is the website shows items which are out of stock. In my opinion they should be not shown at all or have a tag during search

I ordered furniture on 11/18/2021. Never canceled. After getting delayed- shipment of my furniture, they canceled it from vendor on 12/21/2021 saying item not available. After a month! Very irresponsible staff and organization!

Ordered furniture and it took months not to receive it. First order the item was broken and sent back which delayed delivery even longer. No communication from them. Ordered same item for son as gift... The item was lost this time and I wasn't notified. Didn't know item was lost until I received an email stating a new order was placed for the item without my consent. What a nightmare. Will never order from them again.

This past week from Friday 18 Nov thru 23 Nov 22, AAFES has large sales, yet the problem is if you order firearms online, it will take them
More than a full week to transfer them
To nearest exchange. I ordered 2 firearms and still have not received them, called customer service, they stated they shipped them. So far I look at my orders, sent to full filler, now it states Out of Stock. So, there is no integrity in calling customer service for status, they rather bs customer on status than help out. I called CS multiple times and they stated firearms were shipped. Also if you're using your star card to get an extra 10% discount. It might be worse Guess Aafes does not check their inventory.

Expect to wait longer than expected for items on sale, with possibly out of stock

I have been waiting for my uniform that I have them sewing on all the patches. It has been 1 month and not a reply on when I can expect the order. I have called them a along with the store they told me it was at. I have been yelled at and belittled but both customer services. I have called them constantly and no one seems to know where my order is.

I bought a bunch of iPad as gifts and because of the killer sale that they had I bought the max amount for later. I got flagged and had to talk to some jackass manager in the risk dept. Low and behold this guy starts interrogating me like I'm some sort of criminal. First off Myexchange, if you don't want people to buy an excessive amount why dont you put quantity limits like any other store would? Instead they rather flag your account and make you feel bad about spending money and call you some reseller. Well guess what? I dont need to spend my hard earned money on you guys, it was a plus that profits go to service members but when you make me feel like some kind of scammer, you guys can keep your items and I'll just pay another corporation that actually wants to take my money, at least they reward me for it.

Regarding their NOI to me, the orders # are not even mine AND they are not processing my order.

What a circus show.

Tip for consumers:
Most items are overpriced because they make up for the "tax free" benefit. Don't buy high quantity limits or you'll end up talking to some tool in risk dept.

Tried to order a watch, via online,
based on the posted sale price. During the process with the agent, I was told it was a pricing error and could not process the order. I as a customer can only go by what's shown with the item. I am very disappointed that AAFES, the night manager did not offer me any options on any other watch. This was a Birthday gift for my brother and Brother in-law. Canceling an order is laughable
Maybe someday I'll get my order... maybe not... I think I cancelled it, but who's to say? Certainly not customer service lol they aren't actually there to HELP after all... included a photo of paint drying

I personally would never buy anything from this site again. I've been waiting 11 weeks for couches that I ordered in May. It's now august and I'm being asked to wait another 3 weeks. Every time my "estimated ship date" approaches they push it back again. They do not care about their customers.

The Chat feature is a nightmare. You must type for 20 minutes to provide your entire life history for "verification Purposes. The fact that I'm writing from my password protected account should be enough verification to ask a simple tracking question. I'm only asking why my stuff hasn't started moving in over a week.

You might want to call before you purchase online because they probably won't have what you are shopping for.

I had bought something for my wife and the package either didn't come here or never delivered. They don't even try to help me. They made me pay for it regardless! Wow. God bless America so happy I kept scamming people like this safe. This company should be ashamed of themselves.

AAFES is Desperate to Sell since they are now allowing Vets and Civil Servants to Purchase.
Used to be Active and retired military only.
Active and retired military know AAFES has limited inventory and average pricing. Sales are sporadic and short lived. So many times Amazon or other retailers have better prices and larger inventories.
No like it used to be and so sad that AAFES and Navy Exchange have gone down hill to this degree.

Tip for consumers:
Do your homework before you buy from AAFES or the Navy Exchange.

Shoes and womens purses we kept. Prices were average as compared to other retailers.

I bought a couch 3 months ago from shopmyexchange and after a mistake by the delivery people never delivering my items, I am still fighting to get a refund. They also tried to charge me $225 as a "restocking fee" without ever notifying me. One star is one too many.

I ordered a bedroom set. It was delivered and I started to put it together and noticed there wasn't a slot on one of the legs on the foot board. One of the legs was missing for the drawers. I spoke to customer service they informed me it would be 3 to 5 business days. In the mean time we have no bedroom to use. Our spare bedroom has all of our stuff for our bedroom and no room to put anything. Also everything was delivered except the long dresser. But they did deliver the mirror for it.

I bought a computer desk, TV, wireless Beats by Dre, a mini laptop and a regular size laptop. Of all of these, the ONLY thing that I have been satisfied with is the computer desk. Wireless beats stopped working after 2 months, mini laptop - TRASH... Regular laptop - TRASH, won't even load a normal website without freezing and crashing straight out of the box. Contacted customer service to try to exchange it or get my $ back and they couldn't care less, told me to call the manufacturer to see if they'll fix it. Way to go! Nice way to serve your active duty and vets with worthless trash and rude management.
