Awful experience - do not use!
We booked and paid for a simple move on Friday (2 sofas). Shift and the drive gave us a 4 hour window for the move to take place - 5 mins before deadline, the driver simply text and said 'I'm not available'.
We immediately contacted the Shift head office and spoke to a member of the team - no apology was offered to us at any point. The person on the phone said it would have to be moved the next day as they had no one else available to step in.
After taking a full day off work to sort this simple move, we were furious as this turned out to be a massive waste of time.
Head office told us they would call back with a new time and driver for the next day.... we have heard nothing from them since and have been sitting on hold trying to speak with someone for 45 mins!
At no point has a refund, discount or apology been offered after this appalling customer service. Totally unacceptable and infuriating company. DO NOT USE.
Do not waste your time booking with them, they will ruin your moving day.
The driver never showed up and was impossible to contact.
I tried to call the only numbers available on the website for hours and after long wait they cut off the call several times. Unacceptable service for these delicate situations. They left me with no explanation after 2 days despite also several emails asking urgent call back.
They should pay for all our waste of time and energy since I saw similar reviews to mine.
This is a fraudulent company. Do not use. Unfortunately I read the countless bad reviews before I booked this Sham company. They will steal your money, provide no service, no customer service number. My bank refunded the money they stole from me after the driver failed to turn up and blocked them from accessing my funds. I have had no communication from them since they took money upfront and didn't provide a service. I have reported them to the Police Fraud Department. KEEP AWAY from Shift. Online.

We are sorry the provider you booked through our platform did not arrive. This is something we take seriously as a booking agent for independent providers. As you paid by card we did not take any money and the preauthorisation would have been released back into your account organically.

First time using Shift, and honestly just gutted we haven't used it sooner! Excellent service - easy to use and book/pay, good updates on the day of delivery, driver was lovely and the customer service team followed up afterwards to make sure all was ok.
The lady told me they'd send the driver's contact number... She never did. The driver never turned up. The money was taken out of my account. Had to call my bank and will now have to wait for the transaction to be disputed and refunded... What a brilliant way to add stress to my already stressful move!
Driver was horrible and 2 hours late. Hidden charges after moving. DO not trust this company with your bank cards. I called my bank after seeing the ridiculous charges and my bank told me that Shift has set up recurring charges to be charged on a monthly basis. AVOID.

I do apologise that you were not happy with the over time charges that were added to the total cost of your booking when it was completed. They are only ever in place to prevent under booking and ensuring that the drivers can get paid correctly for the time taken to complete the move.
I do wish to also assure you that once a job is completed and paid for there are no recurring charges that are set to be added. It is a banking term that is used, also with some other big brands. Once completed we also have no further access to your account.

It seems that I have to rate Shift. There is no option to leave no star. I am still waiting for a wardrobe that was supposed to be delivered on 20th December 2020. I can't get in contact with shift to resolve the issue in any capacity; when I have managed to make some sort of contact, I'm told someone will contact. No one does. I've emailed and sent texts and there are no responses. There is no accountability and they are more or less untraceable. I've never experienced anything like it in how appalling a service it is. Avoid at all costs.
I booked furniture move for 5 items within my building. The driver was supposed to arrive between 4pm and 8pm. At about 4.10pm the Shift booking system suggested that the driver had arrived, but no one called, rang or appeared at reception for the move. I tried to contact the driver numerous times through Shift's contact system but couldn't get through. Waited for hours and hours. No one. The next day I requested a refund and they told me they can't refund me because the driver had arrived, and sent me a picture of the building front door. The job was marked as complete though no one ever showed up! And they would refuse to refund me based on a driver actually taking a picture of my front door. Where's the evidence that the job was complete? Where's the evidence that anyone made any attempt to enter the building or reach me? COMPLETE SHAMELESS SCAM. This company needs to be investigated and shut down and I am sure to report it to the authorities.
Should have been zero star. Worst and pathetic experience! Never believe these guys for same day service. They can't find drivers. No communication if they can't find the driver. Horrible price match. Managers are rude and horrible to speak with and invoke the statement did you not read all the small print contract when booking is agreed'. They think they are doing a favour refunding when they can't honour the booking commitment. It will be mistake to use these guys.

They didn't turn up. There's no number or email to contact. The driver phoned but it went straight to missed calls, when I tried to ring his number back I got a wrong number message. They sent messages saying the job was done even though it wasn't. My advice is - spend a big more use a different firm.
Applied as a Shift driver. After no work and sending in availability each week I finally received a pre paid card which is apparently to pay for customer shopping orders. Receive a text week before asking when I am available and so far after 4 weeks I have received nothing. Claim they are desperate for drivers and have loads of work but a waste of time. Why advertise for people then do nothing?
I made a booking to move my belongings from a storage company to my accommodation in the afternoon. The driver never came as I had waited for as long as 1 hour so I left the storage place. I then got a call from the storage company that the van arrived but it was already 2 hours plus late. I made a dispute on this and wanted to get a refund, but the respond was very unethical and unreasonable. They said that they do held accountable for driver lateness as some delays are out of our control, for an example, traffic or weather conditions. So is the customer held accountable for the driver's lateness then? VERY highly not recommended as their website and contacts are not very approachable as well.
No driver arrived and it was marked as a completed job. I am currently on the phone to my bank and Paypal to try and save my info from these scammers.

My colleague did try to explain to you that a refund has been processed but they then had to end the conversation as you were being abusive.

I recently completed work for Shift with both payment and scope agreed in advance, however once completed they refused to make payment. This is a company that unfortunately can not be trusted to honour their agreements and there is a county court judgement in place against them. Be wary!

They accept your booking and your money without checking if a driver if available in your area on the day you need the service. I received confirmation emails and a phone call saying that it was organised. On the day I got a text saying my driver was in Manchester and was on his way 2 hours before the beginning of the designated pick up time (I live in Dundee), he would never have made it in time. I then received a phone call an hour later saying my booking was cancelled by shift because there was no drivers available. Surely that is something that should be organised before a booking is made?
If your time is important to you, I do not recommend booking a van with shift.

Finally received the name and driver's number on the day of the move, just to be told he is not our driver. Contacted customer service, no answer for 40 minutes. In the mean time, someone else turned up with a van (one man, not two I paid for), at 9am without any notice. We were not ready since nobody notified us and we wasted half of the morning dealing with this company and trying to find out how to reach the driver... Requested multiple times to be contacted over the phone, they didn't of course bother.
Charged me full price despite only one driver turning up (paid for two). Never returned my money back.

UNRELIABLE, AVOID AT ANY COST
Terrible. Driver didnt pick up, after being cut off the hold music many times, he text me saying he wasnt even working. They cancelled my order after it being booked for 2 days and left my business without it's stock
Subscription to shift shopping failed but my card was still charged twice. Contacted customer service that assured me they would refund me and cancel the subscription. Two weeks later, still no refund and charged twice again. At this point I realised there is no way to even log into my account! Had to call my bank to block the transaction and reported them to Action Fraud. There is no real service behind this, just bots that will tell you they're handling it and will refund you, but they won't.
My driver arrived, he was ok... but there was a problem to find my booking, they called me several times trying to get my details again, even I had already email from them that all is set. They charged me wrong amount... 21£ more, then they cut my calls, I couldn't reach them at all. I will never use them again. Total chaos in the company, nobody knows what they're doing there. So disappointed!
Booked 2 weeks in advance for a removal job received e mail confirmation that booking had been accepted. I was given the driver details and contacted him night before to arrange best place to park etc - turned out he was on holiday and wasn't going to do the job
Called shift that evening who first told me first that the booking system was down then next morning (day of the move) that they had found another driver (who I called and didn't know anything about the job) then apparently booking system was down again then that were still going to find a driver then could I change the day of my move rom London to Scotland - umm No!

Answer: Impossible because there is no customer helpline on the their website. It's simply inconceivable that such a company is allowed to operate in the UK considering the awful way it treats paying customers.
