Tried to book online, the website wasn't working. Tried to book over phone, their website wasn't working. Eventually made a booking over phone and was told I'd get 20% discount, to honour the sale which was taking place on their non-functioning website. Never given discount. Email taken down wrong, so never received any communication. Driver turned up at property two hours early and found no-one home. Driver called me and was rude and told me that we wouldn't come at the right time, and that I would have to call the office to sort it out myself. Driver was still at the property when the owner returned home, but refused to load the couch, saying he didn't have time (even though he had shown up two hours earlier than our four hour time-slot). Tried to call head-office eight times to figure out what happened and re-book, no answer. On ninth attempt, head office told me that there wouldn't be any drivers around, so I would have to cancel existing booking and re-book again. Tried to re-book, website not working. Tried to call, no answer. Tried online-chat option, they said they would call, never received a call.

It's a shame because they look like a great option, and great value, but were just a continued let-down on every level and at every opportunity.

Absolute worst customer service. I booked over a month ahead for my removals was under the impression everything was sorted to go ahead. 2 days beforehand I get a phone call to tell me they haven't booked a driver for my job and can't guarantee one. When I ask what I'm supposed to do at 6pm on a Saturday night 2 days before I'm supposed to be moving I basically got a load of humming and hahhing and told they'd still try to book a driver but couldn't guarantee one so it was up to me what I did (I. E. I needed to go elsewhere) when I asked them why I wasn't told that there wasn't a driver available when I first booked the job or at least 2 weeks beforehand the man on the phone couldn't even answer! I went with anyvan and couldn't recommend them more they had my collection and delivery slot guaranteed straight away and confirmed when my driver would be near and everything. However it did cost £150 more than what I had expected to pay with shift due to the last minute booking. When I explained to shift that because of their lack of customer care I had to pay this extra money which as a student is extremely difficult for me to find (I had to borrow from family) I put in a complaint and asked that they recompense me for this. They assured me the complaint would be dealt with. Over a month later after two emails from me asking what was happening I finally get told that they'll give me 10% off my next order with them. It's a joke! They don't care about customers they are time wasters!

What an absolute load of rubbish. I booked these guys because all the reputable local companies were booked up. We weren't bothered about the cost, we just needed help to load/off load items (medical reasons).
Last Friday we were packing up the last bits, bearing in mind I had been on the phone (and received texts) to them numerous times in the previous 2 weeks, and was ASSURED time & time again that we would have a van + x 2 people at the time specified (within an hour).
I started to worry on the Friday night (move date/time Saturday@ 11:00) so I phoned, phoned & phoned yet again, each and every time the answer was 'don't worry we are assuring you your move will be fine, we have got the team on it'
I then decided at 23:00 to book a local hire Van online, we had to recruit a neighbour to help (thank goodness for neighbours).
The next time I heard anything from them (SHIFT) was 45 mins before they were meant to arrive- to say 'got some bad news, we were unable to find a driver for your allocated move, if you are flexible we can do the same time tomorrow' WTF

Stay away from this company, you are better off moving your stuff on your own shoulders instead of booking from this company.

My recent experience from couple of weeks ago has been horrendous and I have a long list of complaints, but i will limit myself to the main ones:
The process:
1) you cannot cancel your booking - no matter what
2) their website is horrible as it does not provide any clear details of what's happening with the booking, the contact points, etc.
3) don't trust their estimate, even after entering all the details they will estimate on the lower side (as they earn more money for the over time)

My experience:
1) i unfortunately spotted this company in my google search. They were a few pounds cheaper than their competitors and hence i decided to go ahead with them.
2) I entered all possible details - selected the maximum extent (big move) and a Luton van and it estimated 2.5 hours for the entire move.
3) on the day of the move, the driver arrived 8 hours late than the scheduled time. During the entire 8 hours there was no support, the status was not updated. I was talking to multiple drivers giving me numerous reasons for the delay and they kept delaying.
4) the move instead of 2.5 hours took 5 hours. The slower they work the more money they earn as you pay them for every minute. There is no provision for the speed of moving things. The drives took 1+ hours to reach the destination which was 23 minutes away
5) after the move, I disputed all of the above, but because you hand them your card details at the start, they charge you at their free will - and they did.

Guys, i dont want you to go through this pain that i suffered. Please avoid them till your last breath!

I got a quote by text from this company, they were contacting constantly after the quote, I decided to go into their website and got a cheaper quote so when I texted them back to advise it was cheaper the guy told me to book online and let him know when done, so I went online to pay the deposit, after putting in my card details the website crashed. Texted this guy back (didn't give me his name despite me asking) to see if the booking had gone through as the website had crashed, I heard nothing since, this was in the 14th sept (he read my message on i-message) so I contacted my bank the payment was pending but as I hadn't heard back from this company in 24 hours I cancelled the transaction and the booking, I ended up going with someone else and they shifted everything for me, 28th September I get loads of emails from shift with receipts and surveys asking how they did and saying they completed the work and they also decided to take £157 out my account for work they hadn't even done. When I tried to contact the office the girl said she can't do anything, the number I texted said he will raise a dispute and look into this. I eventually ended up reporting this as fraud to my bank and getting my money back that way but it meant my card and everything had to be cancelled. What an absolute joke of a company, praying on students. It's important to note that I mentioned I was a student he initially quoted me £350 for the job and when I said I could get it cheaper elsewhere he brought the price right down to match, I should have known - stay away from the company they are a scam

I have use the Shift Online service to book removing work.

Booking:
1. September 12 11:00 am
Collection address: 295 Corfield Road, London E2 0DU
I have no notice from driver and call the driver at 11:45 and the driver said that he will be there 1 hour which will be 1:00 pm.

I have to contact the company and they reschedule to 2:30 and deliver to me by 3:30.

I have no notice till 4:12 pm and contact driver, and find out they signed the job to another driver and I call the driver 4:43 pm and he told me will be there in 5 minutes. I called 5:33pm and the driver said he is very far away and will be there by 8pm.

Then I contact the company and they can't cancel the booking which they need 72 hours to investigate my conversation with driver and refused to cancel it as they are not sure whose problems it is.

From my understanding, they shall be there by 11:00am at September 12th and they shall tracking their driver and notice me if they are going to be late. Shift online just simply take the booking and money and leave the customer waiting for whole day track the booking by myself and refuse to cancel the booking either refunds?

Shift. Online or Shift Online Strategists are a scam. They claim to book people with vans who can move your stuff for you. What they really do is give you a great price on the website, get your card details, and when they 'process' your order, keep you there waiting like an idiot in front of your computer for hours, waiting for a confirmation that never comes. You contact the messaging service, they take your phone number and give you a call. They then give you a different quote than what was online, saying that price was for a tiny car, even though you selected something that can carry 20+ items of furniture. If you want to cancel, they say they don't give any refunds, because of the costs they 'incur' doing absolutely nothing. Our booking was for 2 weeks from now. The phone conversation happened 5 minutes after the booking. They charged us anyway. We called the bank to reverse that charge. If you're scammed like this, call your bank asap and straighten it out. And don't hesitate to report these dodgy companies preying on people who are already under a lot of stress trying to move house.
Update: They charged us again a few days later. If they do this to you, you need to tell them your order is officially cancelled, and that they need to refund the money. They will say the same thing: that you need to cancel the order online, from your account, and they will try to charge you the full amount again. Do not go back online. Do not cancel online. You need to contact your bank again to say you want the money back, and that you want them to dispute the charge. Shift will then send you a bogus link to 'cancel' your order. Do NOT click on this link! They will send you a virus. Luckily, our anti-virus sorted that out.
But just spare yourself the trouble and just DO NOT BOOK THEM!

Just dreadful
January 25, 2020

Booked online, took money straight away for a house move. We called to say we needed a Luton van and was told this was okay. Two old men, very haggard, arrived 40 minutes earlier than scheduled which to some wouldn't be an issue but we didn't have time to clear the food from the fridge, with a small van. Damaged our fence from the old property to which our neighbours complained to our landlord about. They broke our fridge doors when it was easy to fit through the livingroom door had they simply opened the doors in the first place to manoeuvre the fridge round into the kitchen. Our new house is very big. They damaged our door frames doing this too, chunks of wood and paint split.
Trailed mud into the house on brand new carpets and was told, "oh it'll just hoover up". It didn't. It's stained the carpet.
Because they came with a smaller van than we asked for they had to do two trips which the guy said was no problem because we're just down the road so I thought oh well that's good then.
When I emailed support to complain, the driver denied damaging the fridge and fence and I was told I should essentially be grateful that they did two trips and didn't charge me. Yeah. When they sent the wrong bloody van. Also, they left the property after the first trip and naffed off for over an hour to go get themselves some lunch so I was sat at our new property with a 11 month old baby and no furniture to sit down on or his bed to put him in, and my husband sat waiting at the old property wondering where they were whilst they chowed down and didn't bother telling us what was going on until my husband called them.
They're utterly ridiculous. Do not recommend. Don't even use this company. This is the second time we've used them and for this reason will not be again. It's a shame because the first time we had no issues, but this was a different area.
When unloading the van they were just dumping boxes onto the ground from the van. Too old to handle things carefully.

Also they have no manners at all. Even the emails to customer support are rude, insulting and abrupt. Seriously, don't use this company if you actually like your items to be whole.

To cancel 5 mins after booking they want full cost for costs incurred to them to prepare & dispatch the van to me? Really? My order said finding driver, so what costs? Raised a dispute, and two days later the status still says waiting on drivers response? Their is no driver! Theyve texted and left a voicemail, but seem more concerned about my bad review on trustpilot. Dispute still not came to final outcome, yet they took money from my account. Why should anyone have to change their reviews to get a refund? They have reported every bad review on trust pilot with similar as what they reported mine as. Sexist, course, racist, deflamatory and violent! I'm so angry about that, how dare they accuse anyone of those untrue and disgusting things, because their so desperate to try get another bad review taken down. I've contacted watchdog, and I'll contact as many people as I possibly can, to stop this business doing business the way they do. Citizens advice say your within your rights to cancel for any reason. Fraud dept of bank say if you do not receive the service you paid for, then you should get your refund. I'm in the process of doing all of this, but how disgusting that a company makes it so hard for their customers to get their refunds. The company is set up in a way that's very difficult full stop, to get any help. No contact details on site. If anyone is finding it difficult to find their address, for trading standards purposes I'll give you it. They also made that very hard to find. I looked them up on LinkedIn, where there's a picture of Jacob corlett the owner, so I know I have the correct person as he's standing with an entrepreneur award and there's an article about his business, which is listed in companies house as shift and move, not shift. I had an experience with Shift. Online where I saw Facebook advertisements in May 2020 about having groceries delivered. At the time, I was self isolating and it was impossible to get groceries or to find an online delivery slot with most other places. So I thought I'd give it a go. It became really obvious really quickly that the service they advertised and the service they offered were completely different. I cancelled my booking and requested to have my account removed as well as my personal details.

They confirmed over their chat on their website that it was cancelled, but didn't send a log of the conversation to my email. Something that became clear they never did for any chat through their website chat box when I had to contact them again and again. The booking wasn't cancelled and I was charged. Could have been an error, fine. They said I couldn't get a refund because I'd used their services. Fine. Just delete my account and credit card information. I was charged again and again. No help from their customer service and a complete ignore on my numerous requests to delete my information.

In the end, I had to cancel my credit card to get them to stop charging me. They did in the end, after about two months of battling every other day on their chat, refund me.

All done and done. I reviewed genuinely that this was what happened.

Then they had my review removed from TrustPilot flagging it as ‘not a genuine customer' — TWICE. The point of review sites is to showcase your brand, both good and bad. I was a genuine customer and they flag and delete everything negative that comes to them. Hiding the negative and genuine experiences that people have had with their customer, ultimately silencing the truth around their business model. A review is to help a service provider improve their offering (something they did not do) and to help other potential customers make a more informed idea around using the service provided.

Hiding and deleting negative feedback is absolutely shameful and as much as a scam as this company. Don't trust them. Don't trust their service, don't trust giving your payment information or personal data. And definitely don't trust the reviews you read online. If they delete negative reviews, there's no doubt in my mind that some of their positive reviews are fake as well.
