I´m working with Shapeways since now nearly 11 years for prototype modeling on scale models and it´s like the Amazon of 3-D print. There´s a big range of different materials and print methods, were you can choose the ideal solution for your product. Since over a year I´m using also the shop-section on Shapeways and it´s an easy way to sell your products to other model builder. Some improvements should be done on the shop section for the shop owner and also for the customer (mostly other language - German for example).
Able to print professional 3D prints in very fast lead time... SLS parts, if not too big, were printed and to our doorstep in 3 days
I regularly use Shapeways for my engineering design business. I use a variety of materials, from SLS nylon to DMLS aluminum, to binder-jetted and sintered stainless steel. Great customer service and very competitive pricing with a rush delivery option, which is nice.
We've been working with Shapeways to manufacture our on-demand / made-to-order jewelry designs (cast metals: silver, brass, gold) for the past three years. Nine out of ten times the product quality is exceptional. Occasionally, we do receive parts with defects or imperfections, but their customer service is always quick to respond to issues. We always get either a refund or a re-print for any imperfect parts. Shapeways's turnaround time has also been extremely impressive. We had an unexpectedly large number of orders in November during our Black Friday Sale and we needed a $25,000 order turned around in three weeks. We didn't think it would be possible but miraculously Shapeways managed to turn around all the parts in extremely high quality in a matter of 3 weeks. We would highly recommend their services and products.
I collect tiny models of aircraft, ships, and military vehicles. Shapeways offers an incredible selection of all three. Quality is great and prices are generally reasonable. Service is friendly and prompt, and complaints are professionally and quickly handled. I've been working with Shapeways for many years and will continue until they run out of new models!
I am a frequent purchaser (over 4 years) of Shapeways 3D printed models and products. The quality of the printed products, speed to print and accuracy of shipments have been fantastic. The customer service team and the account managers have been very responsive, accommodating and are available if order updates need to occur. I am a BIG FAN of Shapeways!
Concerned about the arrival of an item I reached out to the customer service team at Shapeways. They responded in a very timely manner and promised follow up if the item didn't arrive. I apparently was unnecessarily concerned as the item arrived the next day. In any case, the timely response was much appreciated, as was the offer to follow up if the package didn't arrive. Overall, I would say very professional customer service!
I have been working with Shapeways for about 5 years, and in general I'm very satisfied with the service, but unfortunately I need to say that, after the co-founder and CEO Peter Weijmarshausen leave the company, the things are getting visibly worst.
Some exemples are a total neglect of the marketplace, the bad relationship with the community, the disappear of the "Cancel Order" button that, IMO, is totally unacceptable, and so on.
I usually place 1-3 orders a day on Shapeways, and the stress of doing this without possibility of make any simple mistake is a painful. I had an order placed with one wrong item, I sent a message to the Service 10 minutes (yes 10 minutes) after the mistake, and the answer was that the order was already at the production and couldn't be canceled... what? So, I needed to place another correct order, my customer received two items, and I paid twice... totally ridiculous!
Usually I have a very good customer service, mainly by Christel and Lefteri that are awesome, but I have noticed a delay at the replies sometimes, something that I haven't before.
Even so, my overall concept of Shapeways is positive, I'm very grateful by them letting and helped me to have my main job today, that is develop and sell my Geek Ring Boxes.
The quality of the orders is generally great. If something goes wrong, they have a very friendly and patient customer service that usually resolves the problem. Definitely recommended!
Shapeways is one of our great manufacturers for our products. 99% of the time the products are top notch quality. But when it happens that something goes wrong, there is an awesome team of customer service that do everything in their power to set things right.

I received my parts after a delay of two weeks from the post office. Thanks to Adela at Safeway's, the parts were delivered a few days after she was contacted. Thank you for the great support. To add on, Once I received parts that were not a strong as the material indicated they would be for the material properties. Shapeways sent me new parts at no charge. 5 s
I use Shapeways for producing my silver, gold and platinum jewelry since 2015. I miss that days when they had sharply 9 business days production, no additional fees, shipping was provided by USPS and costed $4.99.
I'm very happy with the product quality. I never worry that I will get my designs imperfectly made. I tried other companies, and can say, Shapeways is the leader!
Customer service always was and still is caring and attentive. Maybe I'm lucky but 99% of my requests are resolved almost immediately.
I use my shops integration - this is really great thing! I'm waiting only one improvement here - I want to have opportunity to choose shipping method and production mode (standard or priority).

I ordered the grip extender for the Sig Sauer 224. Once the items arrived I looked them over and the pieces looked flawless. I inserted them on the magazine and they fit perfectly. Very pleased with the items. There was a slight hiccup with the shipping but Shapeways helped resolve that issue quickly and I received the items in a timely manner.
I was looking for a toy for my nephew and stumbled upon a puzzle.
I've visited the website of these guys to buy it - the main page of the product showed a few screenshots and a quick description which gave the impression of the toy.
So far so good - I've purchased it.
A week later when I received it, it appeared that it's only a part of the whole toy and that I have to purchase the rest which doubled the price and was way beyond of what I'd expect.
So I've contacted them for a refund on the same day.
They've refused saying something like "we won't be able to sell it to anyone else as it's a ‘unique assemble' " (wtf? Really? You are selling the same toy on your website to multinple people!)
But they've changed their mind right after I've opened a dispute on PayPal providing the evidences of the misleading selling page of the toy.
Via PayPal they've asked me to return the purchase to get the refund. But the return shipping price was on me!)
I've sent it back (recording a quick video of me packing it back as it already started to look very suspicious)
It was expected to receive the toy by them within a week. But I waited for a bit longer - 4 weeks since then and a complete silence. No evidence of them processing the case further.
After reaching out to them again directly via email the response was - "we don't provide refunds"
WHAT?
And you know what - it appeared that there was no way for me to do anything on PayPal as it was in the "waiting for the seller to confirm the return" state. And they were trying to take advantage of that: it was clear now that they didn't intend to confirm that at all.
This is so ridiculous.
Now they have the toy and my money.
The only way for me to proceed was to contact my bank directly to report fraud as well as to report these guys to all financial institution for what they do.
Only after sending them this warning they've marked the case on PayPal as resolved and refunded all the money.
At the end I've wasted almost 2 months and the money to send the toy back.
Learned one more time - stick to amazon as you never have to mess with stuff like that there. Or at least read the reviews first to prepare yourself.
JUST STAY AWAY FROM THESE FOLKS!
I ordered a small model tank but when it arrived it was way too small. The model maker and the company both refused a refund and suggested I sell the tiny model on eBay...!
Stay well away from these scammers.
