I think they are a legit company, but they are very inflexible about refunds. Don't assume you'll be able to get one.

As I understand them, Shapeways is (1) a store, and vendors display their products (manufactured on demand by Shapeways) and (2) a manufacturer that 3D prints products. I'm a hobbyist and enjoy making art projects with TinkerCAD. I've ordered and received 4 projects from Shapeways (with more in the pipeline). Their quality is good, and their prices are usually the best. I've been very satisfied.

In my opinion they're scammers, refusing to refund you when they send you an incorrect product.
