I ordered an explosion box with cake on January 25,2021 to be delivered for a birthday on February 26,2021. The cake was not delivered on Friday, February 26,2021. It was delivered late on Monday, March 1,2021. I emailed them about this several times. They stated that it was late due to a weather event. The weather even had occurred two weeks previous to the week of the shipment. Therefore it was not some unexpected delay in shipping. Knowing that there had been a weather event, the package should have been sent earlier. Be aware that they ship using 2 day weekday only shipping through Fedex. It will not be delivered on a weekend. It was very disappointing to not receive it on or before the birthday. They refunded the shipping cost of $15.00.
It just didn't make up for the person not getting it until 3 days after their birthday. Also the cake was sent on Feb. 24. If the cake was baked that day, the cake would have been 5 1/2 days old when it was received. Although it seems like it is a prepackaged cake. It was sealed in plastic wrap. I was told it was moist and tasted good. It was the tuxedo cake.
I had ordered the birthday music and party poppers. The music played when the box was opened. I thought the party poppers would explode out of the box, but they don't. It is just placed in the box to be opened by someone. That was my mistake. I like the exploding box cake, but it's not worth it if it is delivered late.
I had also ordered one of the 7" cakes. Be aware that the larger cakes are not from Send a Cake. They are from David's Cookies and shipped from David's Cookies. That is not disclosed anywhere on the Send a Cake website. If I wanted a cake from David's Cookies, I would order one directly from David's Cookies. They at least should disclose that on their website.
The butterflies flew …. For a couple of seconds - and the rose petals flew all over the place but the CAKES …. Ewwwww gross! - we didn't get dry cakes as some others report - we got iced batter! Super gooey and NOT tasty - gross in fact! They have six mini cakes ( smaller than mini cupcakes)
My mom is 96 and likes smaller cakes and my sister sent this from Ohio and the thought was great but …. EWWWWWWWW.
Idk who the f would eat these cakes and LIKE them but I have had MANY CAKES in my life and this might be the absolute WORST cake I've ever spit out!
Do NOT …. Repeat …DO NOT WASTE your money on this gimmick.
By reading the reviews it seems like they mess it up a lot! But in this case I'm talking about underdone doughy gross flavored cake that we literally threw in the trash - I'm gonna be calling the company tomorrow to see if this is the way the cakes are ACTUALLY supposed to be or if this is a huge mistake in production…. Because EWWWWWWWWWWW!
The surprise/shock of opening was wonderful but the cake was horrible! The "cake" was a cupcake! It was dry and tasteless
My order was allegedly delivered via FedEx on Monday, May 15th, 2023 at 1:36 pm. I immediately called Send A Cake to let them know that the package was never delivered. They said they would issue a refund, which I never received so I disputed it with my bank. The bank issued a temporary reversal of the charge until the investigation was completed. Send A Cake provided a proof of delivery photo from FedEx which it was clearly delivered to someone else's house instead of mine. I called Send A Cake back on July 6th, 2023 because the bank charged my account for the amount, due to a proof of delivery photo that was provided by Send A Cake. The photo that was provided by Send A Cake FedEx, shows the package on a mat in front of someone else's house NOT MINE. The photo also shows that the garage is to the right of their porch and the number on the house is not showing in the photo. My garage at my home is to the left of my porch. You can also see the number is posted visibly on my house. Send A Cake said they never received a call from me and have no record of a call from me when I initially reported my package missing. SERIOUSLY?!?! THIS WAS SO DISHONEST AND DECEITFUL OF THEM!
The advertising videos are so deceiving! It's less than 1/2 of the money shown. 2 sec and it's done.
I spent $66.95 with your company and it has been a total pain! I won't use your company again and I will not recommend your company
My little cupcake cost $67 with the discount and the musical $18 cake stand wasn't in the box. What a disappointment!
Ordered, delayed delivery status, no email or phone customer resolve, spent 200.00 for nothingUNHAPPY!
This was the second time I used the Send A Cake service, and I have to say things have declined abysmally. Not only was my package not delivered on time, but when they determined there was an error in the delivery, I was not contacted. They had my personal cell phone number and my email address. They made one feeble attempt to contact me, but when the call went to voicemail they never left a message. Not recognizing the phone number, & with no message, I figured it was SCAMMERS/SPAMMERS. I am now looking at having to pick up the package from a local Walgreens (FedEx drop-off), a day after my daughter's birthday. She would originally have received the package a day before. I was not deterred by Send A Cake's high price point, but I think it's ridiculous that I will have to pick up a package that I paid a $16 delivery fee for and get it to my daughter on my own time/effort. It is also very disconcerting that the package contains a food item, I won't be surprised if my daughter chooses to pass on consuming it. As many others have mentioned here, Send A Cake Customer Service is a JOKE. When I reached out to them and related the issue, they showed ZERO sympathy/empathy for my situation. And instead gave some pat answer, regarding SAC's liability. Whatever happened to taking care of your customer, particularly when your service/product is incredibly expensive? Well needless to say: Caveat Emptor. I will not be using SAC again and will tell anyone who's considering them, to RUN the other way. Oh, they also sent me a request for a review, and I responded. I highly doubt it will ever appear on their website.
Apparently, SAC thinks they are doing great and have a "Trust Pilot" section in their reviews showing 111k + satisfied customers:

I paid the extra $16 dollars that was to be a guarantee. The Harry Potter Hogswart Explosion Box was at my home by April 26,2025. It didn't make it and I have no clue if it will even show up. I was so excited to do something unique for my youngest grandson and now, for me, his birthday celebration for tomorrow is ruined. He doesn't care because he doesn't know Grandma spent $71 dollars to do something extra special for him. I have emailed Send a Cake but I doubt I will hear back in a timely manner. There is no way to talk to someone at UPS that has had the package since Friday, April 25th. No excuse for it not getting delivered. No. Major weather issues. Nothing that would stop a delivery on the next day after they received it. So thanks Send a Cake and UPS for upsetting a Grandma who just wanted to do something extra special this one time.
Answer: Terrible Customer service. They provide a phone number but I've ben on hold for a least an hour (two different days) and they never pick up. When you tap to leave a message... the mailbox if full. Their email responses I think are AI. There is no name at the bottom and they are not helpful.
Answer: If you wind them up properly and put them in the place in the box where they were originally put. Probably won't work as well as when you first got it from the company though.
