Got the appointment with ease. Received confirmation of appointment. Shane arrived exactly on time and knew exactly how to repair our Bosch dishwasher. Very courteous and efficient. Would recommend Sears Home Services. Gave some good advice to use pods instead of liquid and mid range Bosch dishwashers have excellent quality. This company has really got its act together!
As of today I have been without a working refrigerator for three months. The Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was renewed for this appliance along with a dishwasher on May 7,2024 at a cost of $1,243.59 for three years. The refrigerator compressor failed on June 21 and Sears said no appointments were available until July 16. On July 16 the tech arrived to verify that a compressor was needed. Sears ordered the parts and scheduled repair for August 13. One part was then reported as delayed (but when I checked Amazon it was available for same-day delivery) and Sears pushed the repair back one week to August 20. Even though all parts had arrived on August 20 the tech didn't show up. After finally reaching an actual person at Sears they, without explanation or apology, stated that no tech could come until September 17. Three months without a refrigerator covered by an expensive service agreement. All their customers have similar stories. EDIT -- Here's an update on my review. Finally, on September 17,2024 the refrigerator covered by the Sears Home Services Repair Protection Agreement was repaired. That's 3 months after the first attempt to get it fixed. The reason why it takes so long is that Sears will automatically make you wait three weeks before they will send any tech to your home. They are hoping you will become so desperate that you replace the appliance at your own expense rather than wait for them. Look elsewhere for a Home Repair service. Do not pay Sears for any service contract.
My ice maker quit making ice on my 5 year old kenmore bottom freezer refrigerator. After diagnosing a frozen valve, the part was replaced, however, it did not fix the problem. However, the valve froze again after making one tray of ice. Sears then replaced a gasket. The problem persisted. After 5 service calls, i gave up and it still does not make ice. I have called about getting a refund however, they only gave me about 50% credit. I don't mind paying the original diagnosis fee, however, i don't believe i should pay for the misdiagnosed part or all the additional tax on labor costs incurred which was about $35. So at this time i am short about $100. I have tried calling the service number and have been disconnected 3 times and have now been placed on hold for over 15 minutes when i asked to speak with a manager. Nothing. Oh and they won't call you back when they disconnect you. Back end service is really bad.
No parts, they tell you they will call you when parts come in. Try to get someone on the phone after waiting an hour and they will send you to someone else only to wind up with the first Dept you called. Save your money and time. Find another warranty company. Sears is not Sears anymore. The absolute worst customer service experience we have ever had. I wish I was exaggerating. It should be criminal how bad this service is.
Customer service is horrible. I ordered a part that never showed up, I kept getting it's on back order notifications. Finally got a representative on the phone that lied and charged me for an additional part that never showed up. Called multiple times requesting a refund, and each time was told to give it 5 more days. I will never order from this company again, or call them to repair anything inside of my home!
The call center promises anything to get your business. The techs are either inept or instructed to avoid doing actual repairs. Either way an AC system, which they installed has lasted 4 1/2 years and has been out for close to a month. Avoid at all costs.
I want to give this company no stars but an entry must be made to submit the review. The bottom hinge on my refrigerator door broke. Repairman wanted $503.50 labor and parts to repair it or buy their home warranty at 49 bucks a month. I paid their diagnostic fee begrudgingly and refused the work. I think I can figure out how to repair it myself.
I booked Air vent cleaning with Sears Home Services. There were 4 no shows. Each time the customer service rep was unaware of the no-show and said they would call back and never do so. I have given up at this point. I suggestion - Never book any service with this company - it's a sham!
Bought a Kenmore 500 series washer and dryer. After 4 months, the washer is already making noise in motor area. A tech came out and said he fixed it. Washed a load after he left and same noise is still there... not fixed. Scheduled another appointment for the following Saturday 1/25/2020 and no one called or showed up. Waited at home 5 hours for the tech and missed half a day of work and not even a call to say hey not going to make it. Called today to reschedule and now no Saturday's are available through February 2020. So now I am out $1200 with a noisy washer to show for the money I spent. Last time I am doing business with Sears. I can see why they are closing stores. Lousy products and poor service. If I could give 0 stars I would.
If I could give them minus rating I would. Their customer service is atrocious. Instead of helping you, they try to sell you additional products. When setting up the appointment, I mentioned that it was related to the compressor, which by model and year, she knew it was part of a class action lawsuit LG had admitted to. I asked to ensure the tech brough a replacement condenser with him/her. The tech showed up and after ten minutes of running a diagnostic test, told me it was the compressor and he had to order the part, along with other parts. Then proceeded to charge me $562.95 for the service which he claims will be for both visits as he has to come back and install the new compressor. He also tried to sell me some products, which I refused. As of today, 9/9/2022, I still have no refrigerator. Trying to reach corporate is even harder than their customer service.
Fridge went down. I'm off of work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They had no open dates for a month for those two days. They must be short staffed on technicians. Now, I have to call a local repairman. Wasted my money on this service. I would not recommend this service.
Also the website is hard to use. It would not recognize my email address, even though I had just confirmed it two days prior, with a phone operator.
It's no wonder that sears went out of business.
We waited all afternoon for the technician to come for our 1:00-5; 00 appointment. At 4:50 I contacted customer service to get a status report and they told me he would be here at 6:30. About 15 minutes later I got a text that he is on the way without stating his ETA. He never knocked on the door (we have dogs and would have known.) We never got a text saying he had arrived. He then sent another text about 10 minutes later saying he missed us and we would rescheduled us two weeks from today. I immediately contacted customer support and they said that he left the area and could not turn back. It seems clear that he didn't want to work beyond 5:00 and therefore did not ring the bell, knock or turn back. I will NEVER do service with this company again. I waited over ten days for this appointment. I could have had my refrigerator fixed by now if I had went with a more reliable company.
The absolute worst company. Do not use them to have anything repaired. In fact do not buy Sears products. This company need to go out of business. They failed to make two service calls. The second time the tech claimed no one was home, even though two people were here, two cars in the driveway, and the front door open. They must employ idiots, and their chat customer service people are clueless. One star rating is more than they deserve
Do NOT use this company! They ordered a part for my washer, and then told me it was back-ordered. I found the exact part from Sears Direct, but they would not order from their own company. Two weeks have gone by, and each time I talk to them, they tell me they will "see how long the part will take to come in". Then they give the "check back in 24-48 hours" routine. If you can get someone to answer at the call center, they will never let you talk to a manager or supervisor. They claim there is no manager or supervisor. The company will not provide updates, and will not follow up with anything. The one time I did talk to someone claiming to be a manager, he claimed he would escalate the situation and email me. No email ever came, no return phone call, and a constant delay tactic about parts arrival. Almost 3 weeks in, and the parts are still on back-order even though they are available from a plethora of venders.

I just called for a service appointment under my master agreement. Was disconnected 3 times. Only to have to wait over three weeks for a service call.
They are liars and can't fulfill on what they promise. Do NOT purchase a warranty agreement from them
One star is the minimum rating. Don't understand why ZERO stars is not an option.My Schwinn bike had broke down and a repair man came on July 31. A part was (apparently) ordered but it is now FIVE months later and my bike still has not been repaired! I have heard nothing from them even though I have reached out multiple times.
Called Sears because our 2 yr old washer drum was shaking violently. The tech (nice guy) came out and told us it was our suspension rods were bad (awesome). He replaced them and the issue persisted literally a day later. Never received a receipt (although we asked for it) and they told us we would have to pay someone else to fix it. We're out $400 (with a $90 incorrect diagnostic fee) and we're still trying to get a refund (to no avail). 10 out of 10, would NEVER go through them again.

My refrigerator is an extended warranty.
Since September of last year (so for months now)I don't have a working refrigerator. Seers try to fix the fridge for three months. Finally they told me to order a new one but I'm waiting for delivery for a month. I don't understand why they treat their clients this way. It's absolutely disgusting the date for the delivery was changed four times already

Sears Home Warranty is the worst investment I have ever made. I have been waiting to get my refrigerator repaired for 2 weeks. They have sent 4 repair men out to access the problem today will be the 5th man they all diagnosed the same problem. It seems as though Sears does not want to fix or replace. Wrong part arrived 5 times. Over 2 months waiting the Tech Broke the glass top installing the wrong part that came. The counter top is on Back order for 3 weeks. No one is even trying to help me. This company is going down. I am sorry I tried to give them my Business after years of buying appliances from them.
Been 8 months since I bought my washer. It has never worked correctly. Technician has been out 5 times each time ordering more parts. Sears is a joke all the way around no wonder they are out of business. The master protection is not worth it at all they never replace an appliance no matter how many times they go out. They try to wait you out so you get so fed up you stop bothering them! Never buying from them again.
Horrible customer service, misdiagnosed and still took my $500. Refugees to refund me at least the labor charges for the incorrect repair and didn't have anything sooner than 3 weeks to come back out to fix the real problem. If Customer service would of handled correctly would of been a little better. Now I am out $500 with a part that cost $25 and had to pay another company to come back out to fix. I believe if you want to save time, money and your blood pressure don't use them!
Bought my house in April - freezer busted - it's now September - still not fixed. I've had a Sears technician out to my house six times now and they still don't know what's wrong with it. I'm disgusted. My technician was supposed to schedule another appointment to replace the motherboard, the time rolled around, and they told me I didn't have an appointment. Absolute joke of a company.
Never deal with thiis company. They will give you the runaround and will come up with any reason not to cover any repairs. Save yourself money and look for service contract elsewhere
We have been going back and forth with this group since November 2019 on the same problem. They have been to our house approximately 14 times. They have replaced 3 or 4 parts which one of them was twice. The problem is still NOT repaired. Next to impossible to talk to a manager. The technician tells you one thing and when you call Sears Home Warranty they tell you something else. We are very dissatisfied with the service and some the technicians have a very poor attitude!
Somebody came out to diagnose my dish washer. He started it and stopped it twice and concluded that it needed a circulation pump, and the repair would be $850! I had already tested it myself and knew that this was not the problem, when I mentioned this he said yeah it could be something else as well! And that will be $89 please. It took me an hour of googling to figure out what the problem was and a $20 part from Amazon fixed it. They're clearly not interested in fixing anything, just take the $89 and run.
We have had Master House Agreement for over 30 years. Had repairman come and fix pump on dishwasher; fine. Now dishwasher does not dry correctly. Cannot get repairman to come, Sears will not call me, will not schedule repair, wait forever to speak to someone (over two hours) without response. Have paid for Agreement; do not think it wise to consider renewal and would not recommend. Individuals are great, company is less than desirable
