Plastic end of OEM dipstick broke off. Ordered a new one from rockauto and it was obviously much different from the OEM. Oil level was off by 1 and 1/2 inches. If that wasn't bad enough the dipstick wouldn't even go halfway down the tube. Proudly made in china also. At least rockauto refunded the cost and the shipping.
What an awful company to work with! I ordered a trailer hitch, and it arrived with no hardware! There's no number to call or email address to email! All you can do on their site is fill out certain questions asked, and it said that hardware does not come with it! What a scam! And they don't sell the correct hardware anywhere around! I went to five places, and they all said that the hardware should come with it! So, I shipped it back to them (at my cost), and they emailed me stating that I may not receive my refund because I did not include my return paper with my return! I did include it! They said that I had seven days to get the return paper to them or no refund! I had to USPS it to them, yet again! I did finally get my refund, minus $50 for shipping. All of this was their fault. I do not feel like I should of had to pay for shipping! Like I said, SCAMMERS! You're taking a chance, if you order from them.

Horrible customer service. They advertised a set of windshield moldings together but only sent one. When I emailed them their response was, sorry our ad was wrong, you need to buy the other one. Although they did offer me to send it back for a refund, I feel like they should've honored their add but they refused. Surprised they would rather have a unhappy customer than honor their own ad.
Bought 2 wiper arms for a car as they were getting worse for wear. I got the shipment pretty fast, but after inspecting them they used ones a customer must have returned and it wasn't inspected at the warehouse. I tried to setup a return but that was a hassle, and there is no way to get customer support. Then you read the reviews and find out their returns are full of issues as well. I just kept them and am dealing with being charged a fortune for used goods that look maybe 20% better than what I was replacing. Lesson learned about rock auto.
These clowns used little bags of air to cushion 2 heavy parts they sold me. They came damaged then when I email them about it they get all smart then say we'll how much refund do you want. When I tell them they say return the parts and I said what about the partial refund you offered. They then said they never agreed to it. These clowns are a waste of time. Im reporting them to the BBB and filing a fraudulent claim at my bank.

First time ordering and last! Ordered suspension assembly (shocks) for My Volkswagen TDI, Rockauto only mentioned one model for TDI model. Received in mail as promised but did not fit 50mm instead of correct 55mm. Also ordered rear brake package ( disc, pads, hardware) pads don't fit don't even look like description, even looks like wrong pads in box, can't return will cost more to ship back and for the shocks can't return something you have tried installing.So if there site says the shoe fits and it doesn't or the wrong part is in the rite box you loose. Will never do business again with Rockauto!

He tried to make me feel like an idiot. He was a mental jerk! Like they say in advertising... You always remember how someone made you feel, not what they said
I ordered a part with expedited shipping. 2 days later I received my order and though the box appeared to be in good shape, the part itself was in pieces. I'm pretty certain they shipped me an old broken part actually, not even a new one. I immediately packaged it back up and took it to UPS to return. When I got home I contacted them (which was a struggle in itself) letting them know, with pictures, the poor excuse for a part that I received. I wanted them to refund the money I spent on expedited shipping which was only about $17 but I figured since I was going to now have to wait over a week, paying for 2 day shipping didn't make much sense at this point. Without hesitation that assured me that they weren't going to refund me. When I went to reply asking how that made sense, I was notified that my email didn't go through because they closed my ticket and marked it at "complete". When I tried opening an additional ticket, I got no response, they simply kept my money refused to communicate with me. I eventually got a new, non broken part, but never a refund for the shipping which seems pretty scammy to me.
I definitely won't be using them again and would caution anyone considering it to look elsewhere if your priority is getting what you pay for and bare minimal customer service.
RockAuto sent the wrong part and refused to refund our full amount including shipping. Plus we had to pay to send it back. Not a good customer service company. They made up rules as they went along to justify why they would not refund our full amount. A terrible company to work with. There is no customer service. We needed a specific cruise control part. The unit was similar but not exact. It would not fit. We completed their required form which asked if the item pictured was what we received. We responded it did not match and did not ask for a picture. Now they are saying we should have sent a picture. PLEASE do no purchase from this business. Poor attituded toward customers, Greedy and incompetent. When calling the customer service number you get the message they do not have customer service over the phone.
Fed X lost my tailpipe. I contacted Rockauto about the tailpipe and I was told to wait 4 weeks before they would investigate. I waited almost a month and just bought a tailpipe and installed it (carbon monoxide in the cabin and all). Their pipe finally arrived a month and a day after ordering it. I wanted a full refund and they told me they would not cover shipping. It just seems wrong to me that they ship with a company that is not up to the challenge and I have to pay shipping twice for part I have no use for. I think they have forgotten about the little guy. I am deeply disappointed in a company that I have had a good relationship with for years.
Ordered wheel bearings for car. Only 1 choice so figured had to be the right one. Was sent wrong wheel bearings as there are 2 different sizes. I paid 130 and am only getting 100 back cause they keep the 30$ shipping. I will NEVER EVER order from them again. No customer service. Have to do it all online. I don't understand how you're a retail company with no customer service it baffles my mind. Spend the extra money and buy some where else. That way if its wrong you can change out the part and not lose 30 f$cking dollars

I ordered some parts from these guys. They sent the wrong part. The box was right but the wrong part was in the box. I contacted them and they told me sorry there is nothing we can do about it. Now I am stuck with a part that does not fit my vehicle and am going to have to buy the right part. Do not use these people.

Maybe if you get a correct part it would be okay, but after paying for shipping both directions, and then install i am out SO much money. Adam sucks, and they could care less about their customer. I bought a new battery for my car at the end of last winter. Come to find by the spring it was only maintaining half or less charge. I tried to set up a return to get a refund and they would only let me do an exact exchange. Rock Auto only gives you a 30 day return policy on all parts, which is ridiculous. Here's the catch. I would have to purchase the exact battery again at $160 cost to me. Replace it then ship back the defective one and get dinged for the shipping cost. Car batteries are not cheap to ship and would cost minimum $70 to ship back to them. So, to save a massive headache, I bit the bullet and ate the cost of my original purchase and had my mechanic replace it for me and I know it's going to be good. Learn for our experiences and please stay away from buying large car parts from them. There return policy is BS and BROKEN! I wish I could give 0/5 stars.

I recently purchased a few parts for my jeep. The catalogue listed the parts they sent me as correct. Only one was. I returned the second part and had to pay the shipping when the part number did not match the one on the box. Their mistake not mine so I fail to see why I should pay shipping.
