Rock Auto Blocks any Communications with Customers

I purchased a set of 2 TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring Stems) about $30.00 each. I had recently paid the dealer $90.00 each for 2 TPMS stems. I thought great deal! I checked My GM part number and cross referenced with the alternate OEM Part supplied by Rock Auto. The stems were installed but they were leaking where the stem mounted on the rim. I ordered another set from Rock Auto, then got ready to return the original ones purchased, and after I had gone thru the process of getting the RA (return authorization. The message popped up the items were not returnable because the products purchased were the wrong products for my vehicle. I HAVE PROOF IN WRITING FROM BOTH ROCK AUTO AND MY DEALER THAT I ORDERED THE CORRECT PART. THERE WAS NO WAY TO COMMUNICATE THIS AS THEY DO NOT TAKE PHONE CALLS NOR DO THEY HAVE A CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE, OR AN EMAIL ADDRESS WHICH YOU CAN COMMUNICATE.

BOTTOM LINE THIS WAS A RIP OFF AND A WASTE OF HARD EARNED $60.00 PLUS THE EXTRA COST OF DISMOUNTING AND REMOUNTING THE TIRES A SECOND TIME.

I am a mechanical type individual. Who once worked Heavy Line at an Oldsmobile dealership. I am a rancher who has too many pieces of equipment to ever have everything working in top order, so part ordering is nothing new to me.

Please be aware there are other alternative on-line parts stores out there.

Rock Auto is Garbage

Rock Auto is an online scam. They do not have a customer service department. They sent the wrong part number and do not stand behind their products. I will never use Rock Auto again and I am encouraging everybody I know to shop local and avoid the headache. I was in the hospital sick after ordering my parts. By the time I got out and was able to get to my brake job I was out of my "30 day" return window. My parts are no longer eligible for return, even though they are still brand new in a box! Ive learned my $150 lesson.

Dont be suprised

Ordered my startor from rockauto.com on december 3rd 2021. Was supposed to get my item december 7... then it was dec 9th... and now its telling me december 15th. Very poor communications with their support team that basically gave me not an ounce of help to resolve my matter. Will not be dealing with this company again. I would have rather paid the extra $80 to advanced auto parts instead of getting false information and letting my car just sit in a parking lot for what now will be weeks instead on a few days. Go spend your money elsewhere people.

Ordered couple parts that were working and prices compared to other websites was also better but I just received the rear absorbers i Ordered from them and they were leaking oil. Blows my mind how the worker went through with packing them and sending them.

I have been a huge supporter of this company for the last few years, as I am a licensed auto tech who is semi-retired and look after a small fleet of my own, the farm, and family's vehicles, also taking on friends and neighbors jobs. Probably around $20,000+ in the last 2.5 years. And I'm in my mid 30's so many decades of spending left I would reckon.
So with that back story which I told when I made my emailed inquiry (since you can't actually ever talk to human!) about a wrong part (timing belt) that was part of one of those big kits that come with all the goodies like water pump/tensioner/pully's, you would think they might consider the years of revenue and potentially hundred's of thousands of dollars I may spend or refer to them. Nope no care given at all!
I had already installed the rest of the kit on a Saturday and went to put the last part on which is the timing belt, when low and behold it was too short. It came out of a factory sealed box so it was the packers at Continental to blame. I sourced one from the local dealer before they closed as the Honda I was working on needed to get back to the customer for work use Monday.
Rock Auto wanted me to disassemble what I had already installed (with high torque lock tighten bolts into aluminum which in my opinion best not to take in and out any more than necessary (as they kinda have a finite amount of times that can be done before thread damage becomes a risk) which would disable the vehicle and take time as well. They wanted it all sent back to get a refund and wait about 10 days to get another belt/kit. Don't know who would be paying for a rental car at that point either I guess me or the customer?
They sold a wrong part and make it your responsibility to deal with it even if it includes huge inconvenience, cost, time, energy. Also the local belt I had to buy at the stealership was 5X the cost which kinda throws my estimate out the window! I told them to keep the money for the belt instead of refunding it and they would never hear from me again and I won't be recommending them anymore. They need to look at the bigger picture sometimes it would have been a big win for them to keep me happy! Now it's off the "PartsAvatar.ca" to order parts lol!

I ordered a fender, and it came in damaged in a damaged box. The customer service team did not do anything to help me I am still waiting for this day after three weeks and nothing yet.

No refunds

I ordered a dorman part for the rear end of my car. The part was defective and started to leak within days. I had to remove it and replace it because it was control valve for the awd and the weather was going to be bad. Because it was needed I had to go and get another part since it was the weekend; I went to a different vendor and was able to purchase a genuine factory replacement part. Now dorman wont refund the part which was obviously junk as it came apart during the removal and rockauto says they only doe exchanges no refunds. I'm disappointed in them as I had no choice but to get the right part.

Ordered a windshield washer reservoir it was not the correct part for the vehicle. Payed $50 in freight charges which they will not refund me but they also want me to pay the return freight to get a refund

Very worst customer

Shipping is ridiculous

Was going to order a new bumper cover since mine got taken off in an accident, part retail is $38.79 went to checkout and the shipping is $143 which is outrages so make sure you really check your cart before tried to order one part for $38.79 and turns to $191 absolutely ridiculous

Great Prices, Easy to find parts

I have ordered from rockauto.com many times over the years. I have a collection of about 25 magnets they send out with the orders. That is a really nice touch and the magnets are high quality with classic cars pictured that are built from Rock Auto parts.
I have never been sent the wrong part. Any returns I have had were my own mistake, so I used the self return option and paid for and printed the return label right through the website. It was really convenient. Shipping has always been quick and the prices are always lower than the brick and mortar shops in my area, even after the shipping cost.

Unreliable, and NO customer service!

When I order a part and tell a customer it should be in by a certain date, I need it pretty close to that date. For example, I ordered a transmission filter kit and a TCC solenoid. When the filter arrived (3 days later, as expected), I tore the tranny down to install the part. NOW, 8 days after that, I'm STILL waiting for the other part ordered as part of THE SAME ORDER! How do I explain this to my customer? And there's NOOO way to reach anyone about it. This is the third time. I'm done. I'm losing much more then I'm saving from the cheaper prices. Another customer lost, Rock Auto!

Never had an issue

I've ordered multiple times and never had an issue. The parts were correct that I ordered for my Mercedes. Shipping is what it is, but the packages have always showed up days early so I'm happy either way. The only thing that made me skeptical was when I was looking for a part, I found the part, and as I read through the description it read to be for a different part. That was the only complaint that threw me off about ordering. But it worked out. I'll order again.

Terrible company

I returned parts using their label and filled out the return page four times and they now tell me they didn't get the parts. Then they suddenly found one part but said that was all and it was and inexpensive part and the high priced ones just disappeared. Will never do business with them again as they are a bunch of thieves.

Be very careful

While their prices are attractive, because they are just the middle man, their customer service is poor to say the least. There is no phone number or person to speak with. I have ordered thousands of dollars in parts over the last few years and like their prices. But any time I have had a problem i couldnt return the wrong parts. This time I ordered a brake kit for my car, everything stated that the kit fit, it didnt. Both rotors were the wrong size, their mistake but over 30 days. Check your parts immediately, and hope for the best if you buy from this company. Good luck Mike in GA ******* order number

I ordered a full set of brake rotors (front and rear) and only received the front set and a right rear rotor. I contacted Rock Auto via email to report the problem; clearly indicating which rotor (left rear, including the specific part #) I was missing. They then sent a left front rotor.

Now, after 3 weeks from the initial order, the process starts all over again. They have sent a return shipping label and have promised to send the right part this time. We'll see! Three times is a charm!

The really frustrating part is that there is no way to speak with a real person or even a chat line!

I'm Posting a Review against Rock Auto's Bad Customer Service, as well as placing a complaint to the BBB.

We have been a loyal and repeated customer for many years. Never really had a big issue/problem with them, until our last purchase on Mon., Nov. 29,2021.

My husband's truck broke down, so we placed the order online, as we usually do, BUT this time, my husband decided that he needed the parts ASAP, because he has to leave by 5 AM, in freezing weather when using a motorcycle, to be at work and he comes home in the dark and freezing weather@ 5:30 pm, for an hour drive to work and an hour back.

So we paid an outrageous amount of $114.99 for NEXT DAY DELIVERY SHIPPING FEE.

• Tue, Dec. 30,2021, came and went and NO PARTS WERE DELIVERED.

• Wed., Nov. 01,2021, So again, my husband had to use his motorcycle in freezing weather@ 5 AM and coming home in the dark and freezing weather@ 5:30 pm.

Right now it's 8:15 PM and the packages from Rock Auto are NOT here yet.

I first called FedEx and they told me that Rock Auto is the only one that can make a claim about my package and request for my refund on the NEXT DAY DELIVERY SHIPPING FEE of $114.99.

So, I then emailed customer service and ASHLEY from Rock Auto stated that they CAN'T give us a refund for the NEXT DAY DELIVERY SHIPPING FEE of $114.99. She stated that the NEXT DAY DELIVERY shipping is not guaranteed.

If that was the case and if I knew this was going to happen and that customer service is this bad, I would have chosen the cheapest shipping method!

She said that even if it's the NEXT DAY DELIVERY SHIPPING METHOD that they can't guarantee that it will make it here and that FedEx is supposed to bring it today.

Well obviously she lied! Package is NOT here yet!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Missing parts

Well I ordered some valve cover gasket set only got the gasket a lot of other parts was missing and they will not sent out the miss parts this place is a rip off who can you sale something and have a picture of it and a lot of parts are missing 18 rubber grommets and 6 spark plug tube seals that's listed on the box

Rock auto sucks

I have been repeatedly screwed by rock auto between wrong parts in packaging with correct part number on the box and used broken part supposed to be new in box and I can't even return or exchange for replacement after I just got it 32 days ago. I'm not a shop just a diy guy trying to fix my truck. I always work on my own trucks and no problem like this.
Enjoy rock auto it's the last 4,500+. 00 I will ever spend on your parts. Reporting to bbb and contacting a attorney.
