Straight SCAMMERS now!

I've done business with rockauto for years and have recommended to many many people all whom came back with a thank you. I've noticed about a year ago those friends started coming back with trouble stories. I continued on ordering my parts from them just as always with no problems. It's been months since I needed any parts but recently ordered a timing belt kit for a Toyota pickup for around $150 that claimed to be O. E. M. Parts.
NOT AT ALL OEM (AISIN) PARTS!
I first noticed these parts are terribly cast with burrs on gasket surfaces and such but grabbed a file and chocked it up to someone in the line having a bad day. Then I flipped the water pump over to find a Aisin STICKER not the company symbol cast into the part like normal. Very apparent someone grinded off this original makers symbol and stuck a sticker over it.
THATS STRAIGHT FRAUD!
They have no customer service and took me 45 minutes to even find an email on the website to send my complaint to with no customer service given. They even claim Aisin the manufacturer did this it's and not them... so I took my story to them.
Interested to see what they say (as well my attorney general) but I guarantee i won't be paying for shipping back on $50 eBay parts they bought, grinded off makers symbol and resold to me as $150+ O. E. M parts

Forgot to mention the fact that grinding on the water pump housing weakens it likely to crack there from heat now. It's not like it's the heart of the cooling system or anything...

I ordered five TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) from RockAuto and received them promptly; however, the timestamp on them indicated that they were manufactured 10 years ago. I call Schrader to ask if this was an issue, and they said yes, they are past their useful lifetime. I returned the items and RockAuto kept $18.90 of my original cost. They should have fully refunded my cost including shipping because they sent out expired TPMSs. Not a good experience. See the date stamp in the image below (May 2012) for item purchased in November 2021.

First of all it is a bit of a pain to make a return especially considering that in almost all cases ti is their fault in the first place. Second the parts quality, in my opinion, is hit or miss. I've bought items for a great price and quality was great and I've bought items that were not good. Also ypu need to consider shipping costs when comparing prices.

Whom ever runs this circus needs to retire. Awful website, not user friendly at all. It's stuck in the stone age. Also the tax exemption portion of the check out makes you want to drown your self in a bowl of jello.

Promises made…

Ordered a $500 part and it turned into $993. Paid insane amount for 2 day shipping and core charge, on the night of delivery they emailed me saying inventory was off and they don't have it. Order canceled, money not returned yet, even though they say it's only charged once it shipped.

First time using rock auto to order parts and ordered about $1500 worth of stuff and was easy and parts came in fast but over half of my parts were wrong and they do not have a customer service line nor can you talk to a person. So for the returns you have to go through a series of questions for each individual part and that determine of you can return of if you pay for shipping. Rock auto ended up saying that ot wasn't mine or their fault so I pay for half the shipping. It was totally their fault that the parts were wrongand then they sent me shipping labels that wouldn't print out right. The whole process was a nightmare I will never order from them again. And I suggest that you dont either

I order a o2 sensor from rock auto and it turn out they send the wrong one and i want to return for full refund but rock auto say i order the wrong part and refund me only the part if return is in new condition no shipping refund and i have to pay shipping back to them total cost 40 dollar the part only 55 dollar i will never recommand rock auto to friend compare to amazon any thing go wrong i get full refund and return shipping for free go to amazon check it out first.

New radiator from ROCKAUTO leaks. Drove vehicle 8 miles and the new radiator leaks. I didn't like the way it looked inside to start with, but installed it. I'm out of the $325 because it is beyond the 30 day time for returns. Never ROCKAUTO AGAIN.

Return Hoax

Returned a NEW part never removed from the box. Ordered incorrect part. Returned with approval and received a reply four days later saying the part was used and not able to resale so no refund and will be throwing it away if not wanted.
Can't believe what I'm hearing. Beware is you order something and it is incorrect.

FALSE ADVERTISING. EVERY TIME I LOOK ON THIS SITE FOR PARTS, THEY DONT EVEN LIST THEM. WHEN I HAVE CALLED AND ASKED SOMEONE, THEY SAY WE DONT OFFER THAT, THEN I ASK HOW CAN U SAY ON TV AND LIE THAT YOU HAVE ALL THE PARTS YOUR CAR WILL EVER NEED, WHEN YOU DONT. Good Experience

Registering on the Web Site with my VIN provided vehicle specific selections.
Purchasing a few items allowed me to gauge the sites accuracy in matching up my order with my vehicle and check on the delivery experience.
Overall, a very good experience and I will be using their site again.

Returns, no problem!

Bought a transfer case motor, it failed after three months. Went online to there return policy, printed off there "free" return shipping label after filling in my claim. As soon as they received the confirmation tracking number that the old part had been sent they sent me a new transfer case motor and within a couple of days I had the new motor & installed it. Haven't had an issue with the new part and its been a year now. Return process was relatively easy, no number to call. Just fill out a form and print off the shipping label and send.

Ordered both front a rear rotors and pads for my 2017 RAV4. Entered my vehicle info and shopped that way to make sure parts fit the vehicle. I got my parts and they didn't fit. The pads were too small and rotors were too small. I tried to return, but because I attempted to install they will not accept a return. If you say the part hasn't been used you have to go through a lengthy process to prove it and also pay out of pocket for the return. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Traditionally a good company, but god forbid if they send you the wrong part. They accidentally sent me the incorrect rack and pinion for my car, which didn't match the part number or photos on their site, and refused to cover the shipping to return the part to them.

Low quality parts and customer service to match

I ordered a wiper motor. Not even close to the speed of the original one.
I ordered a backup camera and an image is only visible in bright sunlight. It is also backwards and can not be corrected.
Bad company and bad parts. Save your money.

1 year old battery

Bought a battery from them was a year old I had to pay the return shipping.
After I disputed it with the credit card company they said I could send it back to them for free but they could not do it since I had a dispute with them
They knowingly sell old batteries and altering the battery By removing most of the date sticker on the battery

We bought a part from Rock Auto. The part was left on our porch. It rained heavily and saturated the box, which was a plain brown box with Rockauto tape. The part did not fit and was returned unused. We were unable to use the box it was shipped in. We paid $21 to return the part after going through a bunch of aggravation on their website to be able to return it. They would not refund any of our money because it was not in the original box. They said they threw our part away because we wouldn't pay them to ship the part back to us that we couldn't use. I explained about the box being ruined but they didn't care. No refund because of a box. I didn't buy a box I bought a car part. Im sure they resold my part and kept my money too. Crooks. Don't buy from them!
