I have so many missed activities, can't even stand it! I have found 2 cats dead in my yard in two weeks and no video of any activity! That is disturbing!,,
So I loved the idea of this for house, and invested $700 to get 3 wireless cameras and some extra stuff... Not one camera worked WITH THEIR repeater in middle from my wireless router (10 between camera and repeater - total of 20 from router) and cameras wouldnt work in a wooden house. Over an hour on line and their people couldnt get it fixed. Insult to injury they make you pay for return shipping when their product is NOT READY for market...
My ring hasn't been working for a month and when I called customer service they wanted to give me a partial refund on my yearly subscription starting from the day I called and NOT from the day it stopped working. I asked to speak to a manager 5-6-7 times and the rep would put me on hold for 1-2 minutes, come back on, say she is still waiting for a manager to then finally say there is NO MANAGER available to speak with me. Also, I was on the phone for 55 minutes trying to reset it with the customer service representative. My ring doorbell was less than 2 years old when it stopped working. I will NOT USE them again!
We like our Ring.com doorbell, so we pre-ordered (WITH advance payment!) two of their spotlight cams that were supposed to be on a 2-week preorder. That was in October and it's now the end of December. In November they told us they wouldn't ship until December 15th, which has come and gone. A customer service rep told us off-the-record that Ring knew in AUGUST that they couldn't make their advertised ship date. Sounds like they were scamming the public for some extra R&D money. We're totally done with them and are moving over to SimpliSafe.

I changed my Wi-Fi service and in order to update it to use my ring doorbell camera which I've had for over a year and a half now I was told that I have to take it down and press a button on the back in order to update the Wi-Fi. That is ridiculous especially when I did not install the camera myself.
Like all small companies when they are starting out can't do enough to give good service. Now that they have grown so large that service has gone by the wayside. 3o to 45 minute hold times just to talk to someone is the norm now. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their attitude is take it or leave it. I'll be leaving it. BUYER BE WARE!

1. It's from amazon - alexa RECORDS you, including during sex
2. There are less expensive products
3. If you buy it through ring, it is a TOTAL HASSLE - 10 MINUTES on the phone with someone from a 3rd world country even before i know how to return them
4. They take a lot of time to refund $$$ to your credit card
In order to use the ring it requires an annual fee. Otherwise its a giant paperweight. Theres nothing you can do, if the fees jump to a sky high rate but throw the unit away.
I ordered the Chime and Ring doorbell wired. They didn't come together. I'm still waiting for tracking info on the doorbell. I could have went to the store. Express shipping is a Joke. Never again
Was just on the phone with ring to get my Wi-Fi updated for my device they told me to rip it off my wall which was able to be ripped off in 2 seconds because the plastic is so cheap and the customer service told me that the device does not really protect the home and I asked them why would they sell the device cleaning to protect homes when it's so easy for any criminal to rip right off the house and then the lady hung up for me I have recorded the phone call and I'm going to post it online and make it go viral and now I'm sitting here with my device on my sofa and I'm going to take it back to the home Depot where I purchased it and make a scene
I bought a the Pro at best buy a year ago. When I installed it everything was good until 3 months later. It started delaying the mechanical chime. Press the button and there is a 3 second delay. Before it was a one second delay. After trying to fix it it went back to the one second delay then after 2 days it to 7 seconds to no chime at all. After that it will say your door bell hasn't receive any activity. Here is where it get worse. My mother came to my house and rang the doorbell when I was at the store. 10 minutes she calls me and said I am at your house. As I was driving home I got the notification that was activated 10 minutes ago. Three weeks ago some one tried to steal my Ring Doorbell without damaging the cover but noticed the hex screw it severely stripped. The doorbell would have caught who ever but it will freeze and lock out. Now after resetting it multiple times it will not connect to two of my routers and goes dead time to time. My supervisor who has the same product came to me and said are you having trouble with this product. So I know its not just me I bought this product a year ago and the warranty is up. 250 bucks wasted trying to make this thing work properly. Now its useless to me and it will come on when ever it wants. Also when I do a live event as soon I say something it freezes and goes dead. SO I recommend other products than this. Wast of money. If you get this product get the 2 year warranty from best buy. This thing does NOT last 3 to 4 months. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!
Hi Joe,
We want your Ring devices to last a lifetime. I am so sorry to hear about this poor experience and, if willing, I would like to investigate these issues that you mention in the above review a bit further. Your device should hold a stable connection to your WiFi and you should be able to rely on your device consistently. Would you kindly reach me today at Kandyce@ring.com so that we can get to the bottom of this for you, Joe?
Thank you,

It is a shame that RING increasing its prices by 33% from July 2022. I think we should reject it and raise our voices to the consumer committees and groups
Spent $400 on two camera's, they seem to work ok!, it tells you, you only have a 30 day trail on video recording, was not sure what that meant, well when the time was up, no more video to scroll though so if someone goes on your property when you get the alert you cant go to see what happened if you don't have there plan, cause you can't boot it up fast enough to actually see what happened on your property! SUCKS, SUCKS! Now I have no choice but to buy a plan, or try to take it back. DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESSS YOU ARE READY TO GET A PLAN I hope my mistake(not checking more into this product) will help someone else to avoid the BAIT AND SWITCH!
These cameras a garbage. Wouldn't sync with phone or WiFi even after I bought the ring booster. I mounted the camera outside ten feet from my WiFi wouldn't connect. Then I bought the booster thought that would. That was a big No. What a piece of garbage. Return it all for a full refund. DON'T BUY THE RING ITS GARBAGE!
If you do not buy the cloud service this product is not much better than a regular doorbell. Could do much more with a security cam connected to your computer and smart phone for a lot less money.
Hi Gary,
Thank you for sharing your feedback and I am sorry to hear you feel this way. Our optional cloud service plan for $3/month allows you to access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to Live View. Would you contact me today at Kandyce@ring.com so that we can improve your Ring experince? I would appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,

This has to be some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The web site is very slick, and the pre-sales information is very well prepared. The product does not work, and my Wi-Fi extender (that I bought just for this purpose) didn't even get a usable signal from 15 feet away with no obstructions. So, after long chats (and waiting a LONG time to get someone on chat in the first place), I convinced them after several conversations to give me a refund... which never came. Three weeks after they received the product back, there was no refund. I went on chat to find out why, and TWO HOURS of chatting later (after their chat system kicked me out for inactivity while THEY looked up my information), they say a refund was issued, but refused to provide any email documentation stating such. This is absolutely unacceptable. I wish I had come to this site to look at these reviews before I wasted time and money on a product that doesn't work, and which is supported by an incompetent support staff. RUN AWAY from this company! They pretty much stole $500 from me!

Okay, so you have probably seem reviews online and have an idea of the picture and sound quality. Sound is not great, picture quality is okay. It's functional. However, RIng offers "theft protection" (i. E. replacement of stolen devices), but that's not really covered in any detail in any reviews, and here's why: you don't know how worthless it is until you've actually had a theft. Here's the terrible news:
If your Ring devices have been stolen, Ring requires a police report in order to process your replacement. So you get your police report and start to complete a form online. That form will require the serial number from each device. Did you record the serial numbers when you bought them? Most people will not. In this case, you lose. You will not get the device replacements.
Additionally, let's say you registered the devices on your account, but you removed them (say, for tenants to use). Then you get the devices back. They will ask the tenants to release the devices from their accounts. If they don't, you lose again. You cannot use the system because you essentially gave ownership to the tenants. Yes, if you registered the devices on your account, Ring should know the serial numbers already, but they refuse to use that data. They want the data FROM YOU. You must be the provider of the data. It really feels like a scam in order to make it extremely hard to file for theft protection.
I flushed like $500 down the drain. My next security system will not be a Ring. They need to get their act together.
Update on the rings well now they all stopped Working Lights Carma. Going with something better will let you know what I get and going to take some time and make sure it's right for me!
I have 7 rings and 5 of them are not working right 2 are not working at all and the others well the lights on them flash now and had to turn them off because of neighbors complaining. This is crazy at $250.00 for each one and I also pay for a service for them by ring that I can't us because the rings don't work and that also comes out on a yearly bases. So don't waste your money! I have said something about this before and nothing back from Ring. I WILL NEVER GET RING AGAIN!
Have owned a rD2 for just over a week now. Installed it correctly (I am an electronics engineer) and it worked/trickle charged the first couple of days. Then it stopped trickle charging and quickly (5 days) 43% battery was left. I get about 3-5 people at my frontdoor per day which I don't find excessive but Ring people do challenge me and say the number of events per day cannot be too high.
4 calls with ring support further (and numerous mails they don't respond to) I have been promised a new battery to be sent. In a mail they stated I can use the extra battery to exchange the existing one and vice versa and charge the spare one up via USB. That would be a great solution having to exchange battery every week for a product I bought which should charge via existing wiring!
Stuck with a crap doorbell now, return to retailer will leave me to pay shipment cost, so thanks to a poor product and equal support level I am either bound to a crappy solution (weekly battery exchanges) or a $19 return cost.
In my country when a product does not work you get a full refund or an exchange, Ring, hiding behind a website in the USA seemingly does not need to do this.
My advice to others, stay away from this company
Hi Frans,
While it is true that the batteries can last between six and 12 months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors including weather, the number of events captured etc. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events daily, you can try adjusting your motion settings. Please let me know if the issue is resolved once you receive your new battery. If it is not, we would be glad to investigate the matter further.

Wasted about three hours trying to troubleshoot Ring doorbell chime and motion sensor problems. Learned that remote chimes stop working on their own and need to be reset (how often?). Was also told I was misinformed by a Ring employee about motion sensors being the same in all Ring doorbells. So now we have a doorbell and chime that *sometimes* rings and *sometimes* that's just to tell us whenever a vehicle passes by on the street 45+ feet away, instead of a doorbell/chime that tells us when people are on our front porch.
I have to mention that the tech support staff I spoke with were completely unfamiliar with Ring's Windows PC app and had to be told by me where to find settings to troubleshoot. I'm an unhappy customer who's warning neighbors not to buy Ring products.
It's been several weeks of repeating to Ring that the chimes stop working at random, causing us to miss knowing that contractors, deliveries or neighbors were at our door. The lack of a reliable door chime has cost us over $200 above the purchase price since we've had to pay contractors twice to come out for a single task. I would never buy a Ring product again or deal with their unbelievably disorganized customer service.
So far Ring's only solution has been to offer to send out a contract tech support firm which I found has many, many customer complaints about credit card fraud, untrained staff, lack of contractor's licenses, damage to customer property and worse.

Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
Ring has a rating of 1.3 stars from 773 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Ring most frequently mention customer service, door bell and live view. Ring ranks 166th among Home Security sites.
