This company is a rip off. There is no way to contact them if you have a problem. I am so thankful I just bought something for $10. Then fine out I have to spend $50 in order to use $25 dollar gift card. I will tell you one thing anyone I talk to I will be telling them about my dealings with this company. Hopefully people will check review before buying anything from them
It is almost impossible to reach out for help. NOBODY is responsible for this website. I found phone number for customer service on google and nobody picking up phone. They simply hanging up on you. Unbelievable. Do not buy any deals because it would be just throw your money way.
Restaurant.com asked me to exchange a certificate for another restaurant since the original restaurant stopped using them. I can see why. In their convoluted exchange software they lost my original certificate after saying, "We are unable to exchange at this time. Try again later." When I went back to do the exchange, the certificate was no longer there. They keep asking me to "reply" to their letter and they will help- but they just send the same letter again. No phone number. QUITE A WASTE OF TIME.
I would give this site zero stars if possible. I find the site hard to negotiate and after nine years of them having my money I decided to try again to retrieve my money in credit towards a restaurant. So far I am into this for 1 hour and have gotten absolutely nowhere after 3 phone calls to them. A no refund policy is not being honest. I believe it is a SCAM and I want my money $175 worth refunded. I have been turned down 3 times. I am sorry I ran into this offer. It stinks!
I purchased several restaurant.com coupons, but have wasted so much of my time trying to make things work. The website and app are both terrible. Lot of basic features don't work correctly. For instance, if you have 2 gift cards of $5, you can't use it to purchase one coupon of $10. The website does not recognize this. Some restaurants have stopped accepting the coupons. Most of the restaurants part of this program don't like accepting the coupons, even though they offer them here. One of the restaurant mentioned that if we want to use this coupon, they would levy a gratuity of 15% even for take away orders, and we should not argue against this. I feel like I am trying to force the restaurant to give a discount. And had this experience from multiple restaurants. So, the entire process makes the customer suffer in the end. I have wasted my time and money behind this, so would recommend others to be away from this.
I used to visit this site frequently and take advantage of the deals, but the new format is not at all user friendly, and doesn't really have much in the way of deals anymore. But the most annoying feature is the mandatory 30 second ad that I am forced to sit through each time I open a page to look into a specific restaurant. I understand that most websites make their money through paid advertisements, but this is just obnoxious. I found this to be so annoying and intrusive that I will never visit that site again.
We received a 'free' restaurant.com card by becoming a BJ's member. Although it sounds good at first glance, this a total waste of your time. The restaurant selection is small and the restrictions are not worth the hassle. An example: Minimum purchase of $50 at restaurant. Coupon worth $6... why bother. Just go out an enjoy a meal and drinks at whatever restaurant you want to go to.
Restaurant.com is a scam. The prices are not that good with only a small discount after you must buy twenty five dollars worth of food, and there is only a 6 dollar discount. Many times it's a 50 dollar purchase for a 10 savings. It isn't easy to download and has blinking advertising which is very annoying and distracting. Don't fall for it! Avoid it like the plague!
Only one (1) Restaurant- Specific Certificate may be redeemed per party, per month, per Issuer (even if the party is seated at separate tables and/or receives more than one check.)
I hope i could give negative:(
Even, does not apply on buffet. Useless...
Restaurant.com is the definition of small print rip-off website. Not only did they value my "$25 gift card" as $10 on my website of choice, they also added a bunch of hidden specifications that I could use my credit for. I ended up wasting the gift card balance I had, since I would have to put down more than twice the balance I had to even make a purchase. Restaurant.com is one of the worst sites I have ever used and I can't wait until it goes out of business. I would have given it 0 stars if that was possible. Bye Felicia.
I feel like restaurants are below average, some of them have a minimum spend amount, and don't accept credit cards if you use the restaurant.com certificate. So there is a lot of limitations on how you can use the certificates and cards they have.
A bunch of restaurants on their site that offer coupons has closed. We went to one this evening that no longer takes the coupons and said they've contacted restaurant.com several times to let them know the coupons are no longer accepted. Dumb. You should call a restaurant and ask about coupons before you go and end up paying way more than you expected.
If this isn't a scam then it is definitely a huge waste of your energy and time. Give your money to anyone else. I looked up lists and restaurants first BEFORE the purchase. No data at all to show prospective purchaser HOW it works or if there are limitations. One - yes ONE restaurant in my area accepts this and they ONLY accept a $10 credit toward a minimum purchase. There's no way you are getting free meals or even worth your time to find stuff. All other restaurants that were referenced as accepting this are now closed. There is no help line, no help - no nothing.
Really bad customer service. The site gives you an option to exchange gift cards, however my credit for those cards are no where to be found. No response from Restaurant.com customer service. Save your monies and go through Groupon.
Restaurant.com is full of phony baloney. The certificates are full of exceptions. You can get a $25 cert., but you must buy $50 in food. The restaurants that are in the system are terrible. One is NYC was dirty and too expensive for what it was, and I cancelled the cert. I am so unhappy with this organization that I wish I could get the $ returned to E-Rewards as I will never use these certificates. This company should be ashamed of their service.
Its bad customer service when you call in no one listens all they do if read off a paper saying same thing over an over then the restaurant s that deal with them are just as bad no know how to use them in any restaurant not even the manager s so why is this service even offered just bad bad bad all around never buy any restaurant anything off line again because of this company
Purchased a restaurant.com specials package that was to include theater tickets and a restaurant.com e gift card. Never received e gift card. Contacted 3 times by email with no response. Love how there is no phone number to contact customer service. Wont be ordering ever again.
I was trying print out two $50 gift certificates and "purchased" the cards using the "gift card amounts" that were listed next to the restaurant (sort of like my children's SCRIP program fundraiser). I made sure I had ordered more then then "minimum amount" that was displayed -- so, purchased 3 cards to get to meet the minimum price. HOWEVER, much to my chagrin and incredible disappointment, the certificates cannot be combined to get a nice meal. You can only use one per visit. It's a real disaster and colossal waste of money.
Be very careful They do not show all the terms and conditions until after you have paid for and printed the coupons. The terms shown for the coupon were;
" Minimum purchase of $35.18% Gratuities added prior to discount. Valid for dinner only. Food ONLY. Present prior to ordering. Not valid for in-house promotions"
I decided to by two coupons and I advised my friend to do the same. The same message came up again just before I confirmed my purchase.
Then when I printed my coupon I saw for the first time these additional terms and conditions. " Only one coupon may be redeemed per party per month per restaurant even if the party is seated at separate tables and /or receives more that one check."
So three of the four coupons I purchase were useless. To me this is false advertising. I will be on the phone to them Monday morning. Watch out for these people.
"I would never trust restaurant.com again. I tried two restaurants on here, Beijing and Tokyo and Alan's of Boscawen restaurant. Both restaurants did not honor this restaurant.com certificate! Buyer beware!"
Answer: Same thing happened to me. There is no live person to talk to. They will give you a credit to use on another voucher but you will probably run into the same problem.
Answer: Burn it! Restaurant.com is not going to work with you at all. They are scam artists
Answer: Most likely because of people like me. I had never heard of this company, but, was offered their cards as part of a promotion. After being burned, I took the time to post my opinion. Others may not take the time to caution others...
Answer: Yes you need to pay almost 5 times as much as you pay. Dont do that
Answer: Terms of use make it nearly impossible to redeem gift cards.
Answer: No restaurants directly accept the gift card at the restaurant.
Answer: Don't even bother
Answer: You probably can't since it is virtually impossible to reach the company. I wish I had a better answer for you.
Answer: Your question is not very clear but if your certificate is "unused" I assume that means it hasn't been used yet and it is available for you to use. Be sure to check for other possible restrictions and minimum purchases.
Answer: And when you call restaurant.com Theresa K or some other staff member will politely tell you, in essence, you don't have any $135 value. They will find a reason but they will suggest you spend more only to loss that too. Be cautious.
