Charged 19.99 for each booking made. I didn't read the fine print on their website because I was looking at the hotel sites instead. No warning of the creepy nature of this business. Don't use them, go to friendlier booking agencies that charge the hotels finder fees. Hotels need our business and have advertising budgets to spend on us.
This company pops up without you even knowing it, they make the reservations and confirm with "the reservation is subject to the hotel's cancellation policy which is: this is non-refundable and you pay in full if you leave early." I made a reservation 6 months ahead of time, tried to cancel it within 3 days and am fighting with my credit card company disputing the charges. They use deceptive and unlawful practice to get your money, don't use them!
We thought we were booking with a hotel, not through a third party. After we made our $600.00 reservation we received a confirmation with an additional charge from Reservations.com of $65.00. Since such a charge was never mentioned on the site we called the hotel to cancel. The hotel had a 48 hour cancellation guarantee, and the booking was a week away. The hotel said we had to cancel through Reservations.com. We tried but they insisted the reservation was final and we should have read the fine print. Nowhere on the site did it state an additional fee would be added after the fact. They flatly refused to call the hotel to cancel. We are still in the process of challenging our $665.00 loss with our credit card company. My advice … never book through RESERVATIONS.COM
These people have no sympathy for customers. Booked a room for a tourney we fish every year and had to cancel due to passing of a family member. Would not give us a refund even after the hotel it's self said it would but had to go through reservations.com... Then ask me to prove the death of my family member. Sick $#*! people! So your self a favor a stick with a online booking company who is well known
Reservations.com popped up first upon my making a reservation for a stay at a familiar hotel in my hometown. Here's what I got: higher than regular overall price as total cost was not quickly revealed, an additional credit card charge for 14.99 for reservations.com, and the inability for the hotel to make any changes to the reservation because a 'third party' had done the booking. I never will make this mistake again. It's a worthless service and unnecessarily costly.
What a joke. A hotel i wanted to book used this website to manage their reservations. Called and was promptly put on hold for over 20 minutes. Gave up and booked another hotel instead. Essentially lost business to the hotel i wanted to stay at.
This website will be gone soon enough, but lets all do our part to make it sooner rather than later. I'ts doing a disservice to the consumer.
First when looking hotel their site comes up with the hotel name then reservations.com Making you think that you're reserving through the hotel. Then they add extra charges off to the side so you don't realize that your paying $19.99 non refundable feel, even if you try to cancel less then 24 hours later. So we were out $19.99. Booked through Priceline.com, the price for the room was less then half of what reservation's. Com charged even with all the handling fees. Disgusting!
They make their website look like you are logged on to the hotel chain you are booking.
Extra fees and overpriced rooms don't show up until you actually pay. It scrolls automatically to the credit card input section, scrolling past the fees and total booking charges so you don't get a chance to see them unless you scroll back up the page!
This is an online scam, don't use these guys. They will probably be gone before the feds get involved!
I thought I was booking directly at the hotel which I have done in the past. Was waiting for breakdown of charges when I realized my card had already been charged and with a non-refundable processing charge! I immediately called and was told that, even if I immediately wanted to cancel, I would still have to pay fee. No other internet site charges a fee. Now, I'm stuck not even knowing if I have a reservation. These people are so misleading! Stay far, far, away from them.
I'm used to booking hotels at booking sites but I'm really glad that Reservations.com also offered us a choice of Bed and Breakfast accommodations. We chose one right away not just because it was cheaper but there's nothing like a B&B to make a vacation feel more like home.
I had a terrible experience with reservations.com and I want to warn others not to use their service. They charged me in different currency and refused to issue a refund or to adjust the cost in correct currency. The customer service was very unhelpful including management. I wasted a lot of time and money because of their incompetence and dishonesty. Reservations.com is a scam and I advise everyone to avoid them at all costs.
Don't use this site to book your reservation! They charge a useless fee of $19.95 on top of the room rate and taxes. If you are making a reservation within 7 days of travel, the reservation is non refundable and they charge your card IMMEDIATELY! I also was not aware that I was using a 3rd party app for my reservation in the first place because I went to the hotel's website (or so I thought) to make it. They are a scam. It's only $20, but it is very maddening to realize you've been duped.
What a scam! They post a teaser rate then slam me for an extra $40.00! I will call the hotel directly next time. I asked how much the room would have been if I had called directly and it was the same as the "teaser rate" posted by Reservations.com! $64.00 for a room turned into a $99.00 charge on my credit card! Reservations.com SUCKS!
If I could give a zero star I would. We have been going back and forth with Reservations.com even after the hotel we stayed at refunded our money. They have used every excuse you can imagine to not refund our money.
I was very disappointed that I used reservations.com to book a room in my favourite hotel. When doing the search, the best price was on the reservations.com site. I was happy for a moment, until a 134$ per night room turned into a $218 per night room! The rate became ridiculous when the dollars were converted from USD to Canadian $, then a $99 fee was added, as well as taxes. YIkes. I will not ever use their site again, especially given that they refused to cancel, once I had realized the extra charges would apply. Booking on the day of travel, you need to call the hotel directly and avoid reservations.com!
I requested a specific type of room. Was told I was getting a discounted rate on the particular room. Turns out, they booked the wrong room plus add a service fee. The booking is non refundable and they refused to change it. These people are dishonest and con artists. Do not use this company... Ever! They will mislead you and take your money and blame you for their mistake.
I thought I was booking on the hotel's own site, and was surprised to see my card charged for an additional non-refundable booking fee even though I had booked a refundable hotel reservation. If there was fine print to that effect, it was not noticeable. In my estimation this is fraudulent.
I will make sure I don't get caught again, and I would counsel anyone to do the same.
We booked and paid for 3 rooms at a Holiday Inn Express in Winston-Salem, NC. One for my wife and I and the other two for her sisters and husbands. Came to find out Reservations.com charged us twice what the hotel would have charged. Upon inquiry with Reservations.com they said that's what you agreed to and offered no credit whatsoever. My advice - deal directly with the hotel and buyer beware. I would discourage anyone from using this service.
They offered the room for 124, i clicked purchase, it went to another screen that gave me a receipt for 175 dollars. They failed to mentioned taxes, and they failed to mention a 20 dollar service booking fee! It just showed up at then end and was non refundable. Money was gone before i could even call them 2 min later!
I booked a Canadian hotel room from in Canada with a Canadian credit card and as I'm a Canadian and the site did not list a currency type I (incorrectly) assumed I was paying Canadian dollars. I also assumed I was on the hotels preferred booking site.
Only down in the tiny fine print legalize at the very bottom of the page do they indicated the prices are in USD which is insane when booking a canadian hotel in canada.
Received my invoice via email and only then are you informed you are charged in USD making the entire booking cost 24% more due to exchange.
Not to mention their $19.99 service fees and additional taxes and fees.
They would not refund anything but did offer to cancel the rooms for me. Ridiculous.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
