It's like U. K the website. Talk about Muslim rape gangs or just calling Muslims "Muslims" instead of asians will get a ban. People all over the site are still very butt hurty about trump (which is why I stay, it's too fun not to antagonize these deranged people who feel they should silence anyone who disagrees with them). Talk about guns and you do a hate. Talk about violence on the left or post videos of leftists being leftist and you are quick to be discreded and pm'd by many people who will disagree with you. Is currently a huge leftist echo chamber with a few decent subs that don't act like want to kill you. Even a sub like public freak out is now almost exclusively for politically charged statements (for the right and the left I will add) moderators and admins are able to hide or show whatever they want making it really easy to make a political narrative at times of their choosing.
These people should be locked away in a mental institution and never released. R/choosingbeggars and other subs block content that is literally what their sub is all about. Reddit as a whole is overrun with $#*!ed liberals and commies who can't stand to be disagreed with. Most members have 10 alt accounts to manipulate the stats sitewide. Only stay here if you are a terrorist loving freedom hating cuck.
Ads for scams allowed to proliferate freely, nonfunctional report button that may as well lead to a file shredder, nonfunctional block function that keeps showing me blocked accounts, and default subreddits filled with actual gore loss of life death and similarly horrible nsfw content often without a filter. Bad website only around because of corporate profits.
I'll have to agree here, this site and Quora are running a tight race here when it comes to power hungry mods, you can state your opinion on here and get punched in the nose for it, nothing but hate and gossip spewed in all directions, I am a man almost in my mid 40s and am getting too old to let myself get too angry over stuff, I am just a person who tries to get through each day in one piece.
Get read for detention camps to those who are too much of a 'threat' to this existing regime. Reddit is going to be the new Youth Group style snitching going on and anything said wrong will earn you a trip to the slammer and donate their body organs. The web has followed along with that model. All the 'filtered' comments are/have bee precursors to the uniparty. We don't have a 'vote' and haven't had once since Bush vs Clinton in the 90s.
It advertises itself as a free speech site but consistently pushes American government narratives and completely silencing free speech by banning users, subreddits and comments for no reason if they go against the American government propaganda. This is the case with all social media sites. Reports, news and articles outlining Israeli crimes, Ukrainian crimes and American crimes are met with bans, removals of posts and opinions.
It is important that people understand the need and importance of censorship and free speech. It is important to understand that when other countries do it, it is an important tool in managing their populations. But they are honest about it. They openly say we censor and they do it. No false pretenses.
If you are going to censor opinions that go counter to your narrative, declare it so instead of leaving users confused.
Hilllaarious! It's quiet amazing actually how one site can generate so much conversation over blogging really. I mean you blog your opinion about SNUGGs... Spandex, North face jackets, and UGGs and the conversations turns into an evaluation of what all the fuss is about in regards to The North Face. Everyone lists their opinions and stories and features they love the most. Not only is this a site for people to laugh, vent, or just start some internet conversation its excellent for business to review the type of work they are doing. Its like a round about public survey for their products.
If you are lonely/bored/depressed this site is the place to be. They will be reinforcing your negative beliefs and make you feel bettter about your self-loathing situation creating a false sense of happiness and you will be thinking that everyone there is super friendly and helpful. However, if you take a closer look and analyze what the people there are actually saying you will be shocked and possibly enraged. All the content is filtered by some autistic admins that will remove anything that's not to their liking. I personally would hack them if I really had that much free time and expose them for what they are. I hope you will open your eyes and see it for what it really is and get away from that toxic place. There are a million awesome things you can do with your time instead of wasting it there.
Reddit is another bad site that has alot of cyber bullying going on and when you report it to them they ban you from the site and subreddits. People should be aware of this and keep our kids and teens safe and off Reddit. There's too many cyber bullies on their and the law and Reddit ain't doing nothing about it we must stand up against this
Basically, outside of very niche subverses, most of the content is either advertising for something or pushing a particular narrative. Actual content does exist in some niche subs (hobby subs for example) but the frontpage and most larger subs are basically corporations trying to influence people. Anything very popular (or very unpopular) is generally that way only because of bots and algorithms means to promote or suppress certain ways of thinking.
I used to love this site back in 2012 or so, but it was a different site with different values back then. Open, witty and humerous discussion was common and ideas flowed abundantly. Not so now; diversity of ideas is forbiffen; EVERYTHING is forbidden on reddit now. Just saying good morning can surely get you banned these days; it is not worth even considering a visit any more.
My post was deleted for violating not one but THREE policies which was an absolute joke! I had regular, simple questions like any other you would see on Reddit. They tried to say that you couldn't take a "consensus" but that is pretty much any question - gathering information from people. Of course everyone is going to be unique. Duh. I reported it not to be mean and mentioned it wasn't about the moderator but the policies and that I see those types of questions regularly on Reddit anyways, so what gives basically? And they were just flat-out rude and as if they didn't even read what I wrote. Not even going to bother with that platform.
Long gone are the times when the site attempts to allow a diversity of viewpoints. The whole benefit of something like reddit was that it allowed discussion about complicated topics, with a system that would naturally allow the "best" opinions to matriculate into view. The problem is that they have been inundated with censorship based on the sensibilities of their most sensitive, lunatic fringe.
Instead of drawing a hard line, the admins and moderators have reliably caved to the demands of this vocal minority at the expense of freedom of expression. The result is a substantially worse site with each month. I imagine that there will be a DIGG-esque migration away from the site as soon as a decent alternative presents itself.
Reddit's policy is that anything that disparages the dangers of covid or climate change will result in a ban. That should have been a warning that true dialogue is impossible by design. If you wish to express any opinion that either of these orthodoxies is excessive or hyperbolic they can and will ban you. It doesn't matter what data you bring to the table. This is the 21st century version of the medieval catholic church's inquisitions except that the church finally allowed dialogue. If you are a cancel culture enthusiast and want to enter into pre agreed statements with like minded cancel culturists then this is the place for you. If you want spirited and helpful conversation with back and forth warrants you will be viewed as an infidel and banished very quickly. Best to find another site before you waste your time.
FYI, I'm a bit salty, my account just got permanently banned because I linked to an article where an abuser was justifying his actions. He publicly verbally assaulted a 9yr old girl because he thought she was trans (she actually wasn't). He sat down with a reporter in a local online magazine to do an interview, that is what I posted and I got banned. OK... so be it, it happens. I created a second account - and only with the intention of warning people NOT to link to the article, again, messages were deleted, and the account got deleted. I created a third one and said literally "please be careful when linking to articles regarding this matter, you could get banned" - boom, deleted and banned. That is some SERIOUSLY crazy stuff going on there. Particularly because I was only trying to warn others about the sensitivity of the post. Reddit needs some competition.
Reddit is basically an aggregator of various hateful and polarizing topics that are moderated by "subject matter experts" that are bullies with low confidence. The topic doesn't matter, for example visit r/publicfreakouts and you see is black women having massive panic attempts and destroying property. In other words, the hateful content further perpetuates negative stereotypes of black woman and loarizes users. Users than start behaving in similarly in the comment sections and are banned. In other words, Reddit makes a business of having users post shock and awe videos that highlight human suffering and ban people for questioning said content ore responses. Reddit is depravity unleashed. Disgusting
Reddit is owned by Advance Publications, a Jewish owned 8 billion dollar mass media corporation. True to Jewish Bolshevik Communist ideals, mass censorship, pushing agenda's, virtue signaling, manipulation of votes and ideas. It's brainwashing on a level not scene since the Jewish Bolsheviks Communists starved 20 million white men, women and children to death and then fabricated a story regarding the death of prisoners of war as some sort of worse tragedy, then created laws sending people to prison who questioned it. A story so heavily pushed in Jewish media that almost no one even knows about the true tragedy of those times, the Holodomor.
The most TOXIC site i have ever been on! Its comparable to 4chan. This site contains the most ignorant, obnoxious, dumb, foul people i have ever had the displeasure of meeting. If you defend yourself or your beliefs on reddit, you are banned / muted. They ALLOW ignorance. The ENCOURAGE it. And its polluted with ads. Even with an ad blocker, reddit moderators go to extremes to force ads onto your machine. If you complain, or teach people how to use an ad blocker, reddit moderators mute you and ban you. Stay away from this site. I have now blocked ALL reddit URL's using a HOSTS file. And the site constantly offers you "free" awards to give to others for "good" posts. As soon as you accept one of these gifts, you are bombarded with ads asking you to "buy coins". Yet another monkey making site that is. Just foul. Save yourself a headache. Don't even bother with this one. Unless you are an ignorant, attention seeking, protentious douchebag that loves spewing ignorant $#*!.
Tidbits and snippets of chatter in a community of diverse and eclectic minds. A taste of literary curry, olive oil, garlic, ginger, paprika, cheese, sprinkled over a barbecue of discussions and mustard topics. Truly a feast for the open mind.
There are a huge number of subreddits, covering almost every subject you might want to discuss. The only real problem is that their karma system motivates people to be agreeable, and to not contradict people. For example, if in the Walmart subreddit, they're expressing their hatred of customers, you had better not say anything in favor of the customers, or you will lose a lot of karma. Or if you post something funny in a typical subreddit, a lot of people won't get the joke, and will think you're just being silly, and you're likely to lose a lot of karma that way. They need to repair their karma system, to not motivate people to give everyone negative karma. And even the positive karma is usually for the wrong reasons. It makes the whole thing a lot more boring than it would otherwise be. But Reddit, in spite of its problems, is infinitely better than City Data forums.
Answer: Absolutely cancer. Unless you're an NPC without a brain of your own.
Answer: Use sitejabber, much better. Since they don't make you jump through hoops to post a review and they don't censor negative reviews. TONS of bad sites online. TONS of corrupt sites. Clean up the internet. Break up these monopolistic companies.
Answer: Don't trust reviews from reddit because the site is censored to get rid of negative reviews. Censored by corrupt moderators and admins.
Reddit has a rating of 1.4 stars from 528 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Reddit most frequently mention free speech, social media and front page. Reddit ranks 503rd among Social Network sites.
