I havenever really been a fan of redbox. Some sort of hybrid of blockbuster and an atm, I just don't see the value. They only have new movies which I can stream and no older hard to find ones that my local store has. Meh.
Redbox is charging me almost 30 bucks. I called them and they said that all that's being charged is 24.36 cents. But then I asked them about all the fees that I'm still being charged for. Such as 0.26 cents twice and then 2.06 cents again and they already took out a big chunk of money from me but I'm still gonna be charged the 24.36. This is bull crap and if I keep getting charged I'm sueing.
Now that blockbuster and hollywood video no longer exist near me, I discovered this great new way to rent movies thanks to a review here on SJ. I don't like netflix because I rent movies at the last minute when I have nothing to do that night. Cheap and reliable.
Rented 3 movies on 10/16. Returned them on the 19th. Total bill which I got a receipt for was for $17.49. They took it upon themselves to place 2 different transaction holds on my account. Said it was due to authorization. I don't authorize redbox to take anything except what I owed. Now I'm being told that they have collected their $17.49 and I should receive the rest of what they took within 3 to 5 business days. They are contradicting and thieves. Will never use red box again.
Be aware Resbox has NO customer svc only email so If you need assistance you are SOL Emailed 11/22/23 to let them know dvd stolen out of car( it was not late it was day of return) Offered to buy NO response until 12/5/23 wanting cc # name for verification then promptly charged cc $44 for a $7.99 DVD they sell keep in mind a customer 6-7 yrs no issues If they have your cc# they will abuse it.
Have rented 4 movies in the past three weeks on my TV from Redbox and every movie would play but had no sound. Went directly to Amazon, found the same movie and had sound. I have called Redbox everytime and their customer service stinks as in they cannot address my issue. I'm finished with Redbox!
Redbox is certainly one of the very few companies that have wonderful customer service. For many years now, any time I call them for any reason, they take care of me. They really value their customers. Redbox deserves to be prosperous! They understand customer service is everything!
Thanks a million Redbox
*Namaste*
Called customer service with no help. They want your card info and name but can't tell you what movies you rented. Told them just buried my father forgot about movies but returned them now they take money as they please.
Rented a movie to stream only half way into the movie and I got kicked out 4 times and it froze 4 times. I called customer service and I was told to try it on my phone? Why would I do that when I can watch it on a new big screen TV? They refunded me but also removed the movie from my queue so I saw half of a movie and wasted a Sunday afternoon. I will never stream through Redbox ever again!
I incorrectly received an email from Redbox including details of a charge. They didn't respond when I replied asking them to confirm that this was a case of someone mistyping an email; as a result I had to cancel my debit card as a precaution. Would give zero stars if it were an option.
Looked up location to drop movie off and when I arrived there was no redbox. Called in cop to a redbox representative to let them know I don't wanna be charged another night. After being on the phone for over 10 min she let me know that she couldn't stop the charges that night. Said best she can do is have me call back the next day so they can refund me the money. Immediately became at any convenience considering I've been on the phone for 15 + minutes. Isn't the 1st time I've had issues with redbox. All they do is try to throw promo code at you. I tried to get a couple promo codes for my time lost throughout the night. Lady said the best you can do is one. I let her know don't even bother you just lost a redbox customer.
Called tech support in India and even chatted with them online. I can't get my credit card added to my account because the old ones expired. I deleted the old cards and tried to add a new card and it would not work. I contacted tech support and they kept asking for the last four of my credit card on file. We went round and round on this and then they said that the site was undergoing maintenance. The condition I experienced was over a couple days. It never got resolved so I guess I don't use Redbox anymore because I have no credit card on file. I guess I have to wait for all future movies to come out on Netflix. Too bad, I really liked Redbox. I guess cheap customer service is preferable to keeping customers.
When you go to a kiosk to rent a movie it doesn't tell you anything about time limits or anything to do with that. If you go on their website it gives the information, but that doesn't help much when you don't see a need to visit the site. They added the full charge to my account for a movie rental without any sort of warning about it or reminder. I feel like there should be something additional than a confirmation e-mail - maybe some sort of reminder that your rental is about to expire and you have to keep the movie. It's not like the disc is in great condition and I could've bought the damn think for less through Amazon. Thank you Redbox for giving me a reason to going back to a better company and not wasting another penny on your worthless company.
No way to unsubscribe on site! I searched and searched. So I called the phone number & as dropped from call both times. I tried to talk with a specialist on the site and it expected me to pay $1.00 and fill out a form to do so. I finally got a helpful person on the phone and got it done after much frustration. No site should make one jump through hoops like this to unsubscribe.
The Redbox unit in my town was out of order, I could not return my disc until it was fixed the next day. They still charged me for the extra day. This is the second time this happened. They don't have an email contact to resolve this. Will not rent from Redbox again.
If there was a rating lower than one star I would rate this experience. I usually do not write bad ratings but I took the time to do so to prevent anyone else from getting scammed.
I rented two movies and I personally turned it in the next day in the 711 Red Box with out experiencing any error from the machine. Just today I notice a posted transaction from Redbox for 67.32
I spoke to customer service and they claimed that I did not return the movies and will not do a refund. I do not recommend anyone to use them, you will get scammed.
Told we would get a full refund, but never got it but they charged us 2 times for the amount of $41.73 each time, contact back and they said they never said that but give us codes to use, never got them, they only will refund us 22.47 which leaves them owing $60.99. Its not our fault the discs didnt work and we called and reported it right away. Never doing business again. I will go else where for our rentals from now on.
Purchased Roku from Walmart and it came with a $5 dollar off streaming coupon. Entered the code and it said can only give you $1 off. Total scam. Wonder if Roku and Walmart know about these business practices.
A Redbox gift card is a gift of aggravation and frustration. After you navigate their upside down web site, and are finally able to rent with your gift card credit, be advised, it can only be used for kiosk rentals. It is not accepted for On-Demand rentals or purchases.
Renting movies that are scratched, been renting for years, every year has gotten worse. Call in explained whats going on. Only to be treated as if Im trying to get over for a $1.62. After years of loyalty. It's not your customers fault that you dnt have system that assures us the movies are not scratched. The system redbox uses says, another way to RIP OFF CUSTOMERS!
RedBox has a rating of 1.8 stars from 188 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with RedBox most frequently mention customer service, free movie and credit card. RedBox ranks 191st among DVD sites.
