The customer service is farmed out to a call center whose employees have no authorization to resolve an issue, they are not authorized to transfer your call to someone who can.
Items never ship. No resolution. Empty promises are made repeatedly with delivery dates until you just give up. Conflicting information presented in emails about delivery policies.
Take your money, give you a confirmation email that states the USPS is awaiting item and that's where it ends. I think this is mail fraud.
Buyer beware
I ordered $135 worth of products from them but nothing ever showed up and Radio Shack has so far failed to respond to 45 emails enquiring into the problem. I contacted my bank and they are now pursuing the matter.
I bought a lap desk and it was absolute junk. I called immediately and asked to start a returns process. They state there are no returns. Nowhere on the product info did it state that. They gave me store credit that will never use on their misleading items. A month later, I received an email from them stating that they noticed I was sent the wrong desk and they would be sending me the correct item at no charge and that there was no need to return my other item. The desk never came, so I emailed and got an absolute runaround from multiple people not giving me am answer. I called customer service and they said to send screenshots of this "so called email". I did. Instead of calling me back, I get another email stating that they only sent that email to people who hadn't received a desk. Complete lie. I have the email stating the exact opposite. I'm convinced this company is a scam. Don't buy!
I bought some shirts on radioshack.com for my husband as a Christmas present (right before Thanksgiving), he loved Radio Shack. I got a confirmation email of my purchase. After waiting until Christmas to receive the order, it had still not arrived. Two days later, I attempted to contact them via their website (submitted a request inquiring about the order). I got an email confirmation, confirming their receipt of my request, stating they would get back to me asap. I waited 10 days, still no response, so I submitted another. FYI, there is a customer support number, but you can't talk to an actual person, it advises you to go to the website and submit a request. I waited another few days with no response. At this point, it was mid-January. I contacted my bank to have the charge removed, explaining the situation and was informed that I had 60 days from the date to dispute the charge, which had passed. Great.
My grandma is from the good old days and she wanted a radio. She kept on bugging me for a radio even though I told her that she could use the one in her phone. I needed a good radio and this store gave me just that. My grandma has never been happier. The radio works great and is of high quality.
Pretty trash products, i bought a headphones and it only lasted 5 hours until it stopped charging and broke, its absolutely disgusting how a company can sell such horrible products. I don't recommend buying their products.
Radioshack has quite a large number of radios. I like their website very much because it has that appealing look. It shows just how professional this store really is. It has even the radios that I never thought existed these days. Whats more the radios are affordable which is why I like the store very much.
I ordered a pair of replacement earphone covers for the headphones they sell. They sent the wrong size. I already paid 4.99 for shipping and they require I pay for the return shipping too. So for an item I've already paid 16.37 for I would get back 5.00. Never again will they get my business.
I was saddened when RadioShack filed for bankruptcy and closed most of its stores. Fortunately, they have survived their bankruptcy. They are now owned by the same company that includes stores like Pier1, dressbarn, Stein Mart, and Modell's sporting goods. I've seen dozens of new items added to their product line at radioshack, com and the company plans to open retail stores in key markets. Unfortunately, one thing that did change is the return and exchange policy. Their previous policy was well defined and generous, but now they just make reference to their "30 day refund policy", anything beyond that is left to the discretion of their customer service department. Warranties are handled by the manufacturer of the particular item. If the item is a RadioShack branded item, it is again left to the discretion of RadioShack customer service with no clear warranty stated beyond the 30 day refund policy. So far, this has not been a problem, it's just a little vague.
Other than that, it's good to see this 100 year-old brand still in business, with new cool products. I'll update this posting of any noteworthy items should they occur.
Radio Shack has been trusted for generations by us for their excellent, unique items at a great price. They have lightning fast shipping which is refreshing this day and age.
I would definitely recommend to buy from the store, its a hassle when it comes to ordering online. The shipping just took some time, there are radioshack's in every corner even tho it does suck when you need something and they don't have it on stock.
Lousy return policy and poor customer service - Radio Shack has a 30 day return policy. NO exceptions! Over the holidays, my father almost died. When we believed there was some hope that he would be okay again, I ordered the new camera that he had asked for before becoming ill. Checking the return policy was not on my mind at the time. My mistake. My father continued to be hospitalized off and on throughout the month of January. He did not attempt to use the camera until the end of January at which time he realized that it did not have a view finder and he was unable to see well enough to use the camera. I spoke to multiple people through customer service regarding returning or exchanging the camera and was met by a bunch of robots. That's the only way that I can explain the mechanical, uncaring way that they repeatedly told me Radio Shacks's return policy. What a disappointment. Now I'm stuck with a $120 camera, and I have to buy a new camera for my dad.
Many thanks to your manager for helping me choose the best headphones for the office - they turned out to be not expensive but very high quality - I was completely satisfied.
Terrible policies for this store.
Tried to purchase speakers online; and then decided to cancel the order less than an hour afterwards; only to get a response by customer service; that they do not do cancellations and instead I need to make a return.
Here is the kicker, they do not cover return fees and also, the return is only store credit. THEY DO NOT REFUND CREDIT BACK TO YOUR CARD! The customer service representative was telling me the return would only give me back store credit.
Will not ever order from this store online again. Not worth the hassle and trouble.
Be warned, DO NOT PURCHASE Service contracts from Radio Shack. I purchased insurance for my Samsung Note 3. I was told at the store that all I had to do was bring in my phone and I would get a new one, no questions asked. What really happens - you have to open a service ticket and pay $99 non-refundable PLUS $550, which will be returned when you return the damaged phone. They tell you that as soon as the return item is scanned at FedEx you will receive your refund. What really happens - you sit and wait for over 2 weeks to get your money back. My phone was scanned on 9/12, they received on 9/16 and I'm still waiting for my $550 (today is 10/2). Every time you call you get a different story. So either they lie or they don't know what the truth is. Buy from anyone but Radio Shack.
Different collections of products are available in their website. For my camera I have purchased a camera battery from radioshack.com for an immediate need. The price range was somewhat high as compared with other sites. But as the battery I needed was available in their website I ordered for it immediately. I received the product from them quickly too.
I was hesitant at first but I wanted to get my Canon G10 fixed. I found some good reviews online and shipped my camera to them. In a few days they called me and told me they had my camera fixed and wanted to know if I would like to get my flash replaced since it was showing some signs of arcing. I agreed and within a couple of days I had my camera in hand. They fixed and tested my lens and flash, cleaned the camera, and even updated the firmware. I was impressed with the person on the phone too. There was no pressure and he completely explained the whole process and seemed very knowledgeable about the camera. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
They found a lot of solution for are problems and got it fixed in a different way we did not think of
Large specialized site with a good range. And everything is in stock - this is a great option today...
RadioShack has a rating of 2.5 stars from 32 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. RadioShack ranks 111th among Electronics sites.
