I couldn't be happier with my experience with Pro Winds. I was in the market for a new trombone. I scoured different websites over a few months for a particular trombone. I originally placed an order on a different site and was put on a waitlist since the item was backordered. I kept looking for the trombone and happened to come across the Pro Winds site. The site made no indication one way or the other whether the trombone was in stock or not. So, I decided to call the site and as luck would have it, the manufacturer had three trombones in stock at that moment. The representative at Pro Winds told me since the trombone was in stock, I should place an order quickly before the item was backordered. The rep also said that I'd receive the item in two days directly from the manufacturer. Also, the trombone was listed on the site lower than on other sites. Two days later, I received the trombone just as I was told and I paid about $400 less for the instrument than I would have on other sites.
I couldn't be happier with my purchase and my experience with Pro Winds.
I purchased item their website 9 days a go. They never send product and its impossible to reach them. I understand covid situation but Mate, be professional if there is delay or something else contact with custumer. I dont even believe there in it. BE AWARE FROM THIS WEBSITE AND SELLER!
I recently ordered 5 Legere Tenor Signature Strength 3 reeds-which this quantity is always hard to find, but Prowinds had in stock and shipped the same day. I live on the East Coast and received the order in 2 business days using Free Shipping via USPS. I was able to apply a 15% discount to the order as well--ended up being a great deal on these reeds.
I ordered one thing, after two weeks past. I haven't receive the item. I sent a couple of emails and left messages, no reply no answer.
Very bad company!
This sax is unbelievable! It's a demo that looks and plays like brand new. The service was excellent, it arrived two days later. I couldn't be happier and I will be back.
I placed and order with ProWinds on April 30. I called on May 4 or 5 to inquire because it hadn't shown as shipped, even though I paid for expedited shipping. I was told it was temporarily out of stock but should arrive the and be shipped to me the following Monday, the 7th. It is now the 16th and I still have no word on the order. By the way, had I known it was out of stock I would not have ordered it initially. I wish there was a notice on the site that stated it was not in stock. This has happened on 2 previous orders. Each time I have been given excuses as to why the order wasn't fulfilled on time; out of stock, a large order came in right before mine, problem with the supplier... The results are the same: super slow shipping and poor communication. Never again.
Seeing the reviews in Pro winds, and based on recommendations I purchased Prelude Clarinet Conn Selmer from Pro winds as beginner. The sound of this Prelude Clarinet Conn Selmer is very sweet and feeling that I am really having a Prelude Clarinet Conn Selmer in my hand manufactured by one of the most rewarded Prelude Clarinet Conn Selmer maker company of Saint Louis (USA), cross checked the costs of other renowned Prelude Clarinet Conn Selmer, selling this beautiful musical instrument in Dollars and Euros also and it looks that they are more concern about foreigners, and costing very high. Lower than this cost finding Prelude Clarinet Conn Selmer with this quality may be difficult. And I really happy with their service. Pro wind delivered my Prelude Clarinet Conn Selmer within seven days, thanks to Pro wind for their great service.
I was in the market for a new saxophone and a google search brought me to Pro Winds where I found the very best researched price. I placed my order for the new horn before I researched the reviews of the company. I was shocked to see some of the reviews that other customers had written about the shop. Things such as poor customer service; poor return policies; not receiving orders; phone calls not being answered; and accusations of fraud and that this company should not even be in business. Needless to say I panicked and sent out emails and phone calls to the company. To my GREAT relief, Dean - the owner operator - returned my call and answered my emails and was very professional and matter-of-fact. When I explained my concern to him, he assured me they were unfounded. I live in Germany and I placed my order on the 5th of May and it arrived on the 18th. Now, on further inspection of many of the negative complaints about this company I realized that 90% of these complaints were of the nature of trying out products then changing one's mind and requesting an exchange but returning a product that had been used and is no longer resalable. I found these complaints disingenuous and damaging to a fantastic Music Store. I highly recommend that anyone needing to purchase any type of musical instrument, supplies, accessories... Pro Winds is your One-Stop-Shop, and, really review any negative reviews about this company and you will see as I have that there are many people who have a need to take advantage and will do so even if they are satisfied with their purchases. PayPal was all it took.!
4.13.2017 I ordered 3517BM Bach Trumpet Megatone Mouthpieces - Bach Trumpet Megatone Mouthpiece - 7B. Today is 5.31.2017 and I still did't get nothing. They promissed me to deliver it in two weeks. Then one more week and one more and ...
I ordered and paid for a Yamaha flute, but in the end it could not be shipped to New Zealand due to Yamaha policy. Dean responded well to my emails and refunded my money.
Bought sax mouthpieces for my son (who attends Eastman School of Music) under their audition program. Returned the ones he did not want within the requirements of the return program (there was an issue in getting the shipping label that went to spam) - USPS tracking shows they were picked up on Jan 11. Followed up on Feb 20th as we had not received our refund after leaving multiple voicemails - no one picks up and no one calls you back. After sending emails and contacting them via messenger (FB) got a follow up response from Dean on 2/20 that they had moved their warehouse from NJ to WI, he located the mouthpieces and they will be credited "tomorrow" it is now 3/2 still no credit. No one ever picks up the phone at pro winds as near as I can tell, or returns a call. I did get a response via messenger from their FB page back on the 20th that kicked off the response from Dean, but that seems a dead end now as well. So like another reviewer we now need to dispute the charge with our credit card company - which should be easy as I have it in writing that they were to process the credit. I would definitely find another vendor - not worth the hassle.
Ordered a trombone mouthpiece via PayPal, but ProWinds website provided only "Pending" status for my order. After 3 weeks or so with no change in status, I checked out ProWinds on SiteJabber, and saw that order delay was quite common with ProWinds customers. This worried me, so I logged on to my Paypal account where I was able to draft and send, via Paypal, a firm message to Prowinds demanding that my order be shipped within a 1 week deadline. My message contained a link to SiteJabber to support my concerns about the delay in my order.
After 2 days, I received a notification from ProWinds that my order had been shippped, and I received it with no further problem. Submitting my message to ProWinds via PayPal gave the message some extra weight which was difficult for ProWinds to ignore.
I ordered a chocolate brown leather Torpedo trumpet case with the leather music and mute case attachments from Dean & Pro Winds. I didn't opt for the shoulder pad or the optional conches. I find the strap is wide enough and I found a wide selection of conches online so I could personalize the case in my own way. For my money, this is the best trumpet case on the market, it is very sturdy, the leather is thick and stitched very well, the padding totally engulfs my trumpet and keeps it in place. The music folder attachment easily holds a full size music folder (my folder has more than thirty charts right now and the case can take a lot more (it also has a compartment for a highlighter and a pencil), and the mute bag easily holds my trumpet stand, stand light, and six of my mutes. The padding on the lid fits perfectly into the trumpet bell providing plenty of protection, and the pocket in the lid has plenty of room for some valve oil, a few mouth pieces, and my cleaning kit. Besides being very practical, it looks fantastic! Most of the band members and all of the horn players in the bands I play have checked out the case and they are all, to a person, impressed with the case. I couldn't be happier and would highly recommend this case. One interesting fact, I don't know how Dean does it, but he sells this case for less than ordering direct from Torpedo.
Ordering and returning items from this place was a hassle. Took about a month to get it here and when I tried to return it, it was accepted into the warehouse put for some reason the refund "wouldn't go through". I've tried to contact this company so many times through email, phone, and their online sales assistance. No response through phone or email. The only success was from the online sales assistance, but even then, they were only online for a few minutes at a time. Nonetheless, it was TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They kept lying to me about how they were going to return the refund right away- except they ended not doing it, so I'd have to contact them again in a few days. When they actually returned the refund after I've been trying to get a hold of them, they for some reason sent the refund to seperate accounts even though I only used one to make the order. I asked them to fix this and they litterally said that they "had to go". I would not recommend wasting your time on this company. They have poor service and don't really care about you whatsoever. I was just trying to make a return and they couldn't even do that without wasting an entire month.
Do not buy anything from Pro Winds. There is nothing Pro about them. The website says that it is family owned business, but so is the Mafia. Before they get your money they respond almost immediately and basically tell you what they know you want to hear (time/delivery, refund/return, extras). It is all lies and the lies just continue from the owner Dean Foster (slime ball would be a compliment) right down to Mark and others in customer service. After they have your money you can't get any information out of them and if you do it's a lie. I've finally (May 31) cancelled an order for a $5,000. Bassoon that was placed on February 21. Before I ordered they told me that I would have it in 3 to 4 weeks. Many requests that took threats to illicit a response invariably said ' it's coming next week.' At the end of March Mark let it slip that they were trying to get a bassoon from a dealer overseas. If I'd wanted a used kicked around instrument I would have gone on eBay myself. Fox, the manufacturer of the bassoon confirmed to me that the bassoon was not ordered by Pro Winds until two months after my order was placed with Pro Winds. I think Pro Winds was shopping around for a 'like new' used or loaned bassoon. Dean Foster, the owner, refuses to accept my calls or respond to my emails. Dean's the person in charge of refunds and he is sitting on my refund hoping it will go past the credit card dispute date but I've just beat the cutoff. I have turned the matter over to my credit card company. I've been out my $5,000 for almost 4 months while Pro Winds has been investing it in 'what?'. If you still decide to buy from this organization (because the prices are very tempting) at the first missed deadline cancel and start negotiating for your refund immediately. Also, if you ever do receive the instrument, check the serial number with the manufacturer to find out when it was made and for whom. Know the history of your instrument and send it back immediately if it's not the new one you ordered. A very shady and greasy business. STAY AWAY FROM PRO WINDS!
Bought a few random trumpet accessories. A cup mute, valve oil, and a polishing cloth. They all came in about 5 days later. Can't complain one bit!
I ordered a product that I could not find elsewhere... under $50. Nothing arrived. I went to their site and checked their order tracker. Order tracker said "pending" (this is 11 days after ordering). I emailed with asking for information. The email went without response for two days. I called to ask about my order. I was told it was a discontinued product and they would send me a similar item. They were correct that the item was similar.
The idea that they charged me money and had no intention of telling me that they did not have the product they sold me AND were just going to keep my money made me NOT want to give them money and that I would prefer to just have my money back.
The person on the phone got very angry when I told him that it was not a good business practice to treat customers that way and I would prefer to spend my money elsewhere. He then proceeded to explain that the products were similar (as if that was the issue). He then claimed he would give me money back and send the alternate product.
This WOULD have felt like an amenable solution had he not been yelling at me while he said it. I will accept the situation... however I wonder how somebody gets mad at me when they tried to steal my money. Processing a transaction that you have no intention of completing your end (or telling the person who's money you took that you made a mistake) is stealing as far as I am concerned. Waiting for me to inquire about it is about as dishonest as it gets.
If one wants to be apologetic and make things right I am willing to forgive and chalk it up to a mistake. If one is going to yell at me (keep in mind my tone was conversational even as he yelled at me), we can consider this the last piece of business that will ever be done between us.
I will never do business here again. None of my students will ever be steered towards this store. I would encourage anybody reading this to stay away.
Prowinds is who I went to instead of amazon, and yes I ordered before I read the reviews and needless to say I was afraid of what I was seeing. However, I'm here now writing a review on the very website that made me so afraid to say that the bad reviews are wrong. Not only am I getting my order within a week of ordering, Dean is one of the nicest people I have ever talked to on this topic and constantly assured my order is getting here. Prowinds is at the mercy of the distributor, that's where they get their products, and sometimes they're out, like in my case I wanted a Denis Wick 2AL Bass Trombone mouthpiece, but he notified me that it was back ordered until September and offered to make the switch to an in hand Denis Wick 3AL on the spot! The 5 star and 4 star reviews are what this company deserves, not the raving bad reviews of people not getting their items when it isn't Deans fault, but the distributor who is already back ordered, Dean is just the face that gets slandered for it. Think complaining to a waiter for how bad your food is, however, they never had a part in making it yet you blame them.
All I can say, is do business with Prowinds, keep in contact with Dean and he'll be sure to get you what you need ASAP. This is a very misunderstood company.
Great Company and i loved it so much. Excellent speedy delivery. Pricing was also great and i m happily recommend to everyone.
I Bought a clarinet for my daughter from this website. I wish I had never done business with them. Bought clarinet and several other accessories and was told when ordering that it would take about 2 weeks to get the things, because the bag I ordered needed to be ordered and they were out of the clarinet, but would have more in within a week. I didn't need these things for 5 weeks so thought that there was plenty of time for them to get me the things I ordered. After 4 weeks, no contact at all of any problems and no products. Had to call them while on my family vacation to find out why. Ian who answered the call said he would find out and get me things before my daughter needed it next week. Said he would email any updates. No updates were emailed and no products sent. Called again when I got back from vacation and realize3d he did nothing. Needed everything the next day. I told Ian that his service was the worst I had dealt with and he told me, "If my service is the worst you've had, then you're the luckiest lady in the world." He then hung up the phone on me. I called back and talked to Dean, store owner, and he overnighted a lesser quality clarinet for my daughter to use for her lesson and band camp, til they got me the right one. Right Clarinet showed up shortly after the replacement, which is the only good thing about this situation. Then I had to fight to get the other items I ordered and wanted information on. Took an addition 2 weeks to get most of the accessories. Everything except the bag, the one that was supposedly being special ordered the day I called and placed the ordered. Seems they never placed that order, and 7 weeks later are telling me that the bag has been discontinued. Don't you think they should have been intelligent enough to figure that out before now. I hope anyone who thinks about using this company, thinks twice. NOT A REPUTABLE COMPANY! BEWARE!
Answer: For questions inquiring about a certain product, it would be best to contact their main online live chat or email them with the inquiry.
Answer: ProWinds gets their items shipped straight from the distributor. It would be best to contact them through the online live chat or email to let them know. Most of the time they are at liberty of the distributor and can't help but receive the backlash.
Answer: I did get a response via messenger a couple weeks ago - but they never pick up the phone or return a call. I'm having to go through my credit card company
Answer: They are completely unresponsive to email and phone. If I were you I would cancel the order and find another source. I'm going to have to go through my credit card company to get a refund on mouthpiece audition
