Don't waste your time. These guys are very dishonest. You might get a couple good orders from them, but they WILL screw you over in the long run. The management is about as dishonest as they come. I would go to APMEX or JM Bullion.
I have too many issues and complaints on the last year to even go into a rant and rave believe me look at the other reviews on this company is a scam and fraud with no customer service care about you or your money they were bought out by JM bullion last year. Beware of their shipping scams that they sent it to the wrong address, beware of their payment never received scam, beware of fraudulent coins scam., I wouldn't buy a 1 oz copper coin from them they would mess that up let alone silver, gold, Platinum, palladium. I am going to get every precious metal coin I have ever bought from them tested that's how bad news this company is, don't buy from them, save yourself a headache.
I ordered the 10 rounds for spot deal and they had a sale on junk silver. I paid with PayPal. Everything arrived as expected. The reason I'm giving them 4 instead of 5 stars is that it took them several business days to get the order in the mail.
I just ordered from Provident got a counterfeit coin; this year 1/15/20,1oz Britannia; confirmed acid test at local dealer revealed plating, totally fake and worthless coin. Unfortunately they are closed atm so I'm not sure what's gonna happen. At best they now have a massive quality control failure, at worst they have become a fraud.
They send packages under $1000 without signature. USPS lost my package. Provident customer service started a claim for me and then closed the claim and refused to refund or replace. I then got a letter from USPS stating that they had indeed lost the package which I forwarded to Provident claims. They said their insurance underwriter still denied the claim. Horrible company to deal with. They never offered any help or suggestions. It's like once they get your money they don't care. Beware if your package is lost or damaged they will help you at their own discretion. Save your money and go with someone that actually insures their packages and uses delivery signatures.
I deleted my old address on provident metals site on 12/3/23. I updated it with a new one. Old one was totally gone. I put in my order. I got an error email that said my order was incomplete. So I did the order again. Then I realized there are now two orders. So I called provident metals on Monday 12/4/2023 at about 9 am central time. I was told both orders had already shipped. So I said okay I can live with that. But now it seems that both orders have been delivered to my old address witch I had deleted. I just went and checked provident metals web site and the old address was back, two instances of it. So I have now deleted it again. I want provident metals to make good on this. I've been a customer for a few years. How can I have proof of purchase when my orders were not delivered to me?
I received my first order from Provident Metals today. When I opened the package I discovered that they didn't fold the coins flips and secure them inside the bubble envelope. All 4 of the coins had slid out of the coin flips and had been banging around inside. I was going to send in the 2018 incuse maple leaf coin to get it graded. No reason to bother now that it's scratched up. Provident Metals can't be bothered to fold the coin flips and secure them shut with 3 cents worth of tape. I'll never buy from them again.
My brother works for them and he said they are getting ready to file for bankruptcy like so many precious metals companies have done. They are struggling to send people their orders but they are still taking orders. Some people won't get their order after they file for bankruptcy just like when the other companies did not pay. I went to the company and spoke to several workers who are afraid of losing their jobs, but are more afraid of Provident Metals not being honest about their financial troubles. So do not order from them because you likely won't get your order.
Just received the 2021 Commemorative Copper Bitcoin rounds. They were shipped super fast and the rounds are high quality. I am very pleased. I have used Provident Metals in the past and will continue to use them in the future. I highly recommend them for all your metal needs.
So I ordered close to *******. 00 dollars of metals from them, we track the order and it states it has been delivered but we do not know were. So e request a copy of the signature which we could not make out. So we contacted Provident and was told sense it was signed for the insurance would not cover. The next day my wife goes out to the mail box and finds the package so I guess that was a good thing come to find out the mailman signed for it and stuck it in the box almost 36 hours earlier the reason i am writing about this because this could happen to anyone. Provident will not answer any of my calls or e-mails concerning this issue. Bottom line if someone would have taken the metals out the mailbox we would have loss the 20,000.00 we invested Be careful dealing with these people
I've ordered 5 different products from Provident, about a 15 orders in all. Every one was delivered within 2 weeks of receiving my payment. I mail them checks, which is cheapest way for me, and they handle very quickly. If the market goes up or down they deliver at agreed price. I once left my check on my desk and forgot to mail when I went out of the country. They sent me a polite email and I called them. The market had gone UP a good bit, but they didn't try to weasel out and let me pay check by phone. I don't understand the negative reviews and can only say it never happened to me.
Long-time customer... never had a bad experience. I've tried just about every bullion site out there and Provident is by far the best. Affordable, discrete, fast, good customer service... and free shipping. Customer for life.
I bought silver rounds that were on sale and sent a check. Spot price went up dramatically. They kept telling me the check wasn't received. After 2 weeks I was told I should call the next day and if the check hadn't arrived I could pay by credit card. The next day I called and was told that the order was cancelled but I could buy it for the new price which was higher spot price and not on sale. I said no thanks and asked why they were not honoring what I was told the day before. I was told that someone would listen to the recordings of my conversation and someone would get back to me. Still waiting. I wish I had read reviews first.
Experience with site design: very user-friendly, easy for me to find products.
Experience with Seller: will recommend Provident Metals to anyone wanting to invest precious metals. I bought my silver dollars from them and got it within 3-4 days. I've purchased from another online dealer, my shipment came after 2 weeks. I've talked to the rep and he was very informative. Quite impressive, I would say :)
I have ordered several dozen times from Provident. I've also called with questions about policies, etc. Never had a single issue with Provident. Good company.
Provident is quick to charge my credit card and take my money but then my order sits in "confirmed payment" for 3 day and then "processing" for another 3 days before it finally ships. Provident sells what they don't have in stock so be prepared to wait. Apmex and JM Bullion ship same day or next day every order I've placed.
. 999 purity stamped bars i ordered are turning black in my electroplating solution, indicating the presence of iron- Fe II (aq).
These bars are not even close to pure, and Provident has no interest in refunding me or compensating me for the damages caused by their false claims. So i'm filing suit.
I've placed two orders with Provident. I received the first order after more than a month. It's now 3 1/2 weeks since they received payment for the second order, and it hasn't been shipped yet. In both cases, they blamed their slow shipping on delays in receiving product from their suppliers, even though the items ordered were advertised as being in stock when I ordered them, and showed on their website as being in stock when I called to ask why the orders hadn't been shipped.
I won't be doing any more business with Provident.
After placing several thousand dollars in orders with them, I had assumed I would be treated with fair customer service. I placed an order for two, 10 Oz. NTR bars that were listed as "New". While the bars I received were in Mint Plastic, the bars were somehow dinged up like crazy. There were even X marks scratched all over the packaging which is usually indicative of a reject product. When I called they treated me poorly, and refused to give me a refund, or even an exchange. The woman seemed like she really didn't care, and kept confusing which product I was even referring to. She even had the nerve to offer me the Buyback price, which would have meant I would take a loss on the item. Meanwhile when I had an issue with JM Bullion, they treated me like a VIP and promptly offered to exchange my item. Give your business to anyone but Provident.
I had issues with a delayed order. Provident was affiliated with mulligan mint so not clear where their products originate from. Owned by Mormons hence the name Privident. Not 2 sure about this company: questions need to be answered about consustently late orders and money in the currency float.
Answer: I heard the same thing. I would not buy from Provident Metals, especially when there are real companies out like APMEX and JM Bullion.
Answer: Not often because Provident Metals has terrible management that don't know how to keep things in stock.
Answer: Ive heard this from so many people at coin shows. Typical for Provident Metals. The management at Provident Metals seem to only care about themselves. They do not value their customers one bit. In this day and age you need to be treating your customers like gold. They definitely don't seem to understand that we can just go straight to a competitor. Provident Metals seems to only cares about what goes in their pockets.
Answer: No, because they have a lot to hide. I would RUN in the opposite direction.
Answer: So true. I've heard this from a lot of people. They keep all the good ones for themselves.
Answer: They sent me several worn-out/slick/wafer-thin US silver quarter-Dollars under the heading of "average circulated" condition. One of the coins was also riddled with "BB" indentations. I photographed the coins and emailed it to Provident; I was subsequently instructed to repackage the affected coins (at my expense) and send them back for replacement. At this point, only time will tell if Provident follows-through with their agreement to exchange the worn-out coins.
