Priceline Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

Just had the worst customer service experience ever. These guys definitely do not offer the best rate, will not book the room you want, will not make any adjustments, and will not cancel. Always book directly with the hotel!

ZERO customer service
October 1, 2019

They are an intermediary who take NO RESPONSIBILITY for anything. So if you have any issues with your flight or car rental you need to resolve with the provider directly.

Since you did NOT book directly with the provider you are now at a serious disadvantage

So you should always book directly with service provider. If you book with Priceline you are at your own risk and have been warned by hundreds of travellers already

My mother in law and her granddaughter had to take an emergency flight to New York form Austin, Tx for Sister's funeral. Flights were delayed and missed to New York 2 times. And upon return flight back to Austin, TX flights were also delayed almost half a day. Not Acceptable Priceline. Hotel, and car with package was however the only upside to this package fair but not extraordinary!

Horrible Experience
September 26, 2019

What is interesting about this, is that I don't write reviews. It takes too much energy in my opinion, but after this experience I have to do this! After 6 years of not being able to vacation, my husband and I were excited for a night away from our 6 kids. I booked a rental car and hotel though Priceline. What a bad idea! We got to the car rental place and they didn't have the vehicle that we requested. Due to time restraints, we were left paying more than we agreed upon to get another vehicle. Oh but it gets better... After driving 4 hours to Dallas for a concert that started at 8pm, we arrive at the hotel at 6 pm (Crowne Plaza Hotel (Downtown Dallas)) just to find out that there was no reservation for us in the system. I called Priceline (as told by the hotel staff member). They placed me on hold and stated that they would get things worked out. After 30 minutes of waiting, I was told that, "The hotel was overbooked and we can offer you relocation or full refund". Needless to say, I as surely unhappy with both offers as I was not about to be out another $90 for the tickets I purchased for the concert. I can't say that I was nice, but that's neither here nor there. I was pissed! I asked for the relocation and stayed on hold for a hour and a half (sitting in my car). Just to learn that we had a new reservation, but on the outskirts of Downtown Dallas. At that point, I just wanted to be out of the car so I agreed. Got to that hotel, just to be told that I had to pay AGAIN! Are you kidding me? Furious is an understatement! I finally rented my own room at the Sheraton for $300 (which was triple what I originally paid) just to have peace! Once we arrived to our room and got dressed, we had already missed the concert! PRICELINE is a JOKE! It has been 5 days and I haven't heard from anyone about a refund! Let me tell you this "Priceline", when you don't do your jobs it truly does affect others! I can't tell you the next time I will have this opportunity and your company RUINED it! If I could give NEGATIVE stars, believe me I would. Please people BEWARE! I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy! We are out hundreds of dollars and not to mention time (in which you can't put a price on). You all have been warned!

I used their website to find a car in Detroit for the week-end. I found a good deal and it said that it would be with either Budget, Avis, Hertz, National, etc. i. e the major brands. I made the reservation and it immediately changed my credit card to Avis.
The reservation confirmation that came back said that you could not cancel the reservation. However, it said this AFTER you had paid. If I had known this I would have never made the purchase since we don't like Avis in Detroit. You have to stand in line way too long.
Their "Chat Support" basically said that I should have known and sent me a copy of the contract, but once again you see this only AFTER they have charged you.
They should give you the name of the company to which your rental request is going and they should say you cannot cancel up front.

I will never rent a car from Priceline again. This is just not right.

TRASH!
September 25, 2019

Priceline is not to be trusted! Horrible hotel & stay & they would not offer any resolution to this problem! The ratings on the hotels are all made up! Never again will I use Priceline! If you like cheap prices & nasty 3 to 4 star hotels; Priceline is the right one to book with.

Fraudulent hotels
September 24, 2019

So we arrived to this location and went directly to our room to shower immediately my wife was itching with hives down her entire body legs, face, arms etc when she went to get changed near the bed she came to me when I was coming out of the bathroom she shows me there is literally black mold coming out of the wall exposed. And as I start to look around the room I see it's everywhere- what the heck? Black mold? How is this facility even open when my wife went to the lobby to talk to the guy who checked us in- he refused to move us rooms and assured us it was in all of the rooms. She comes back to tell me what he said so I call the front desk and he said well it's the room you purchased I won't exchange it, nor refund the room. Then precedes to put us on hold and hangs up the phone. I come flying out of our room right to the front desk where his eyes lit up in terror. I said okay you hung up on me and we have a serious problem and you need to fix our situation. He's said I can't help you- I said how is it you can't help us when It's your facility that is the problem. We came all the way from Reno, Nevada unaware of Iowa all together. And now this guy doesn't want to move us rooms, do to their mold infestation throughout the entire hotel- The longer I stood their the longer he ignored the entire situation. He said if your not happy you can leave- I was furious that he couldn't even accommodate us with another room, neither a refund of our original price. They refused to pay us a refund, we contacted Priceline with the situation as they contracted this company as a accredited facility. Neither places feel they are reliable for the fees in which we purchased from their company. They said well you purchased a hotel that was non-refundable... Okay, well we checked in which wasn't the problem- the facility was infested with black mold that was exposed how is it that they believe our room was stay-able? I fought on the phone for over an hour with Priceline speaking to 4 different people to only be told- Will let future guest know about the situation, how does that resolve our issue? Now we are out the purchase price of the room, and had to find another hotel to sleep in that night. Do not stay here! We both had immediate symptoms from the black mold: Exposed black mold- The most common black mold symptoms and health effects are associated with a respiratory response. Chronic coughing and sneezing, irritation to the eyes, mucus membranes of the nose and throat, rashes, chronic fatigue and persistent headaches can all be symptomatic of black mold exposure or black mold poisoning.

After booking and pre-paying for a rental car, I was surprised to find the booking had been cancelled when I got to the airport.
My mistake they said was that I put the pick up time as midnight on the day my flight arrived at 11.30pm so midnight actually represented a late pick up of 12 hours.
1st If I add my flight itinerary to the booking they should alert me of the time difference and possible cancellation.
2. If I pay up front for a whole weekend then why is it cancelled no matter how late I am picking it up, mistake or not.
I had to book another car through Dollar as they were the only ones with cars remaining, doubling my cost to the tune of over $600, sickening.

Fraudulent company
September 23, 2019

Worst company to deal with! DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH THEM. Booked a hotel with them, they confirmed but later said it wasn't available and gave me a way inferior hotel in a worse location and told me it was "even better". I refused to stay in the new hotel and went to the original one I wanted and the hotel said they had availability. I asked Priceline to transfer me back to the original hotel I wanted to which they NEVER responded in time and my WHOLE 13 night booking at the other hotel was completely cancelled because Priceline did not bother informing me that if I didnt show up the first night, it would be null. So Priceline basically just stole $3500 and won't do anything to fix other than give generic excuses. Absolutely useless customer service. They will take your money and run with it.
This company should be sued for FRAUD!

Beware if Priceline!
September 21, 2019

I will never use Priceline again. Multiple times I have gone and searched for a flight this past week and it will tell me one price. Then when I go to book it, with in a few seconds of seeing it, it goes up $50-100 at check out. I called Priceline to chat with them and they said it's due to demand. I understand demand makes a difference but it's in seconds and it changes?! Then I go back and search again on Priceline on a new, private browser and it's the original price. And does that whole price going up again when I try and book it. Priceline is a bunch of scammers and I will no longer be using them or recommending them. To bad, I'm in the travel agency world and often have people asking me for places to book flights. I will be sure to tell them to beware of Priceline.

Booked a Canadian Hotel. The currency did not show until after it was confirmed and booked. Price went up $100 from the currency exchange.
Customer service just gives you the run around.
We called immediately and they will not do anything.
Said we were tied to the contract.
BEWARE of these crooks.

I booked a car rental service at Detroit airport via Priceline on Sept. 2,2019. The car rental company is called Executive Car Rental. At the time of online booking, the total price guaranteed to me is about $159. But, when I brought the car back the rental company who was assigned to me by Priceline, the company charge me $378. The argument from the car company was I used my German driven license. However, this difference was never showed to me by Priceline when I booked the rental car online. In addition, the vehicle the company provided was a very problematic one. The car was in bad mechanical conditions on high way between the pickup location and Lansing, MI. I was quite worried about my safety during the driving and mentioned to the counter when I returned the vehicle.

Based on this experience, it seems to me Priceline carried a misconduct in its business on two accounts 1) ganged up with company to have fraud information in order to cheat the customers 2) not care about the company who provides service via Priceline meet up the safety standards for customers.

I am astonished about how I was treated, and how this kind of practice can be tolerated these days in the states.

I found cheaper prices on 3 different sites. I offered to send a prtscrn or a link, but they have no ability to receive an email. They said that they could not get the same price to come up on booking.com, hotel.com, and agoda.com. They are clearly shafting their customers. Stay away!

One star is too much
September 12, 2019

After needing to change my reservation with more than 28 hours until check in, I tried what I felt was the convenient chat option. Not only was Viktor unhelpful and lied about my "not able to cancel" information provided to me (which was not reflected any place in my itinerary that stated I could cancel), he then told me it was against the hotels policy to do cancellations (when I called them they had no problem canceling for me). When he realized I was unhappy with his less than helpful attitude, he reverted me to a generic automated response. I won't be using Priceline.com anymore. They aren't the cheapest, and their customer service is abysmal

I don't travel much and always thought Priceline.com had the lowest prices based on advertisements I have heard. I booked a hotel room through their site, did not use "name your price" or "express deal" because I was not sure where the hotel would be and the deals weren't much better then what I could find on other hotel websites. After I booked the room feeling like it was an ok price, I found the exact same room on booking.com for $65 cheaper over our three night stay. Called the customer service line because I saw the "Lowest Price Guaranteed". They weren't going to refund the $65 difference because the cancellation policies were different (and Booking.com had a better cancellation policy!). The call lasted over 1/2 an hour in which I was listening to terrible music. I was on hold for 25 of the 30 minutes. I was finally nasty enough that the operator refunded me the price difference. I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN.

I book a room for 1 week job related & in 1 hr I had make a major change to move to another location. They couldn't help with the change and refused to cancel my reservation nit to mention no refund $465.00 gone down the drain without any service. They are not willing to make changes even if you just booked it 10 minutes later. Be careful with Priceline their not true to their word.

Total Liars
September 9, 2019

If I could give them a minus I would. They are total liars. They do not provide the best rate and when you call to try to get the price match that they so call guarantee they claim they can't do it. As much as I travel, I will never use them again. Not to mention you can never get anyone on the line that you can even understand.
