The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. Booked a hotel through priceline by accident. Did not stay in that particular hotel, and still was charged and no refund was offered by priceline. Priceline claims there is no dispute team available. I have used priceline for years, I will no longer use priceline due to their poor customer service.
Priceline is a great site for hotel booking. BUT when you have a problem with a reservation... FORGET IT! They will not help you. They give you all the excuses in the world to keep their money, and prove to you that it's your fault. Things happen with reservations. I called them 2 literally two minutes after receiving my confirmation. They did absolutely nothing to help me, nor fix my problem. I use Priceline on a monthly basis, actually very often. I'm so disappointed they did NOTHING to fix my problem. Again, great for booking but once you have a problem your problems won't be fixed. Affordable hotels, yet no solution to your problems. So disappointed. Too good to be true! False terms & conditions!
We saw and booked a lower price on line and when my husband called to confirm they stated a higher price and claimed they could not see the lower price anywhere. They were very difficult to understand and gave him a big runaround. They would not connect us to a supervisor stating the was no supervisor available.
We called back to cancel within minutes. They said if we wanted to cancel we would still have to pay the full price. Who does business like this? Never, never again!

I booked a hotel room.on priceline that said the hotel was $69 plus tax. No where on my confirmation did I see the total price. Then my bank statement said priceline charged me $92.97. I had to call the hotel to change the type of room I was in and they even told me my price was $76.27. When I called priceline the lady kept saying they charged me the right price, that was all she could say even after I explained my whoe situation. I then spoke to a supervisor and He said the prices fluctuate... it was all bull and Priceline is price gouging people big time. I had my hotel stay and the reciept they gave me says $76.27 total with taxes. I will be disputing this with my bank. I will NEVER use Price line again, they were TOTALLY unwilling to believe me or work with me on the difference and stood the ground that THEY were in the right. VERY poor customer service I do not recommend them... there are plenty of other sites online that offer good deals and have excellent customer service. Do your research and triple check before you book anything on priceline if you choose to still use them after reading this! The photo below shows the price othe the exact hotel room I got, the picture is what is on priceline today... much less than what they charged me when I thought I was getting the room for $69
Rented a luxury car for a week got a ford tauras and added extra charges-Priceline did nothing to help even through it was booked thru them! Thief's
During Christmas holiday period (2019-20) I booked a rental car for period Dec 26 to Jan 1st through Priceline (Trip no: 193-958-432-89) from Tampa, FL airport. Upon arrival to car rental counter in Tampa airport for pickup, they told me the car was actually booked by Priceline from Denver airport. I called Priceline to resolve the case, but they did nothing and just cancelled the reservation. Priceline said their system shows correct information, that it is from Tampa - so it is not their fault, whereas the rental company said it is not their fault either as Priceline sent a wrong information. And I was caught in the middle with my family for almost couple of hours. Finally I had to book car at the last minute with several times higher than the original price offered by Priceline months back during my reservation. The whole experience was tiring, irritating and expensive - and Priceline didn't try to provide any help but simply washed off their hands.
Going forward I would suggest everyone to do research and investigation from Priceline but make the reservation on the provider's site at the same price to avoid this sort of mess.
I recently purchased an overseas flight ticket with Swiss Airlines through Priceline. During the entire purchase process, it was clearly indicated that I was buying an "economy" ticket. Priceline also sent me a confirmation and itinerary clearly stating "economy". It was only when I arrived to the airport for check-in that I realized Priceline actually sold me a "light economy" ticket for an overseas flight (JFK-Sarajevo) for $1310 without bags included. I felt terribly disappointed to have to pay $120 extra. Priceline should indicate clearly what one is buying.
Booked Extended Stay on Old Sauk in Middleton WI through Priceline Dec 30 2019. Room had old nasty pizza left in microwave, dirty comb hidden in the sheets, dirty washcloth hanging on shower curtain. Manager (Michael Doty) was a HUGE jerk - wouldn't resolve issue. Priceline would not back me up or issue refund/credit yet I was booked into a room that was clearly not cleaned but made to look like it was. The customer care rep said it was not their problem. So I'm not going to be staying there anymore. Not worth it to save a dollar. And I will follow up with the Health Dept since there was food and hair left.
I booked a hotel with them. They gave me the wrong check in dates and did not want to issue a refund. They didn't even send me a receipt with the appropriate dates. I called them about the issue and they said there was nothing they could do. Totally unreasonable. Never book a hotel with them.
Don't bother. The occasionally competitive fairs are nice, but you pay for it with their unclear and shady terms and conditions, along with inflexible and unhelpful customer service.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED:
I have been traveling all day and made a last minute reservation around MIDNIGHT for a room that was within my budget and that allowed pets. A very short 20 minutes after booking, I went to check in, but was told AT THE desk that there was a $50 pet fee AND a $20 parking fee. Called Priceline about this confusion with the surprise fees AT CHECK IN and customer service told me that they "disclosed" the "possibility" of additional fees and that there was nothing they could do and that the cancellation fee would be the full reservation price. Really?!?!?!?!? I booked the room not less than 20 minutes of checking in at MIDNIGHT... there is no way I would be inconvenience Priceline or the hotel by simply cancelling my reservation after being told I needed to shell out another $70.
I feel that this was a cheap shot on Priceline's part and was within my rights to question fees that were being imposed AT check-in and you should have allowed me to cancel. I think that my request was not unreasonable given the circumstances.
I will never use Priceline again EVER!... never should've steered away from booking.com
Shame on you
Booked a room at the Drury Inn, in Terre Haute, IN for my son and was charged a $49.50 fee, more than half the cost of renting the room for who knows what. The hotel said it was a Priceline fee. Never again.
I booked a room with Priceline and discovered I biked it for the wrong date. I tried to change the date but Priceline would not let me. I canceled the room like within 4 minutes and I was still charged for the room. I called Priceline and asked them to remove the charge to my card and they told me they could not do it because I cancelled and it was less than their 24 hour policy. I called my credit card company and told them I wanted to dispute the charge and I also called the Better Business Bureau. I finally got the charge removed from my Credit Card! I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN! I ALSO TOOK THEIR APP OFF MY PHONE!
There is no option to give zero rating otherwise i would have given priceline a zero rating for their substandard customer service.
We reserved a hotel room through priceline and within half an hour our, we tried to change the dates and called their customer service through the contact number mentioned in their website, But their automated call agent was so idiotic, it has decided to cancel our reservation without even listening what we were trying to do, it appeared that the only option they had on that automated service was cancellation, it only listens to the word cancel and ignore any other utterances, and so it cancelled our reservation with 0 zero refund, when called the customer service again, to reinstate our reservation, they have refused to do so and had asked to call the hotel. When we called hotel we were directed back to priceline as the reservation was not done on their website and priceline is responsible for that, which priceline didn't acknowledge and our entire trip went for toss with priceline taking away both our money and reservation and left us with no option but to cancel our entire trip, We lost $300 dollars as part of this cancelled reservation and a heartbreak to the family for not going on trip
I would strongly suggest and caution people dealing with priceline, beaware of their blaming tactics and not so good automated agent which can put you in to terrible situation like ours.
Priceline.com set my car rental to a day earlier than my flight. It took 25min to the customer service to come to the conclusion that they couldn't come with a satisfactory conclusion. Either ways they were offering I was leaving money on the table, without the assurance that I would get a car on my actual arrival date. Lesson learned, I will never rent or book a flight with them again. I'd rather pay more and be able to speak to a customer service who can actually answer questions without a script.
I booked round-trip flight for my wife from Doha to Cairo and due to the loss of my wife mother I tried to canelle the return flight from Cairo to Doha for two days calling their customer service and was told to wait for response from them and that the cancelation fees is 60$... i contacted them several times and just 8 hours before the flight they told me I have to pay 600 $ for canceling. The whole ticket was 700 $. Again avoid them..
I live out of the country but maintain a FL address. Priceline sold me an insurance policy for my 1 day car rental (to visit my mother on Christmas) that the rental company didn't accept.
Priceline also sold me an "unlimited mileage" rental car... which was written prominently on the itinerary... that the rental company didn't offer to residents of FL (they call it a local rental despite my residence being 400 miles away).
And what's worse still... it's apparently all my fault for not reading thru the legal disclaimer mumbo jumbo until I got to paragraph 11... where it mentions I should check wth the rental company directly to ascertain their practices and policies before booking (isn't that I why hired Priceline? To find a company that sells me what I want (for the best price))?!?!
Never again. They are encouraging me to call the vendors directly... so that's what I'll do from now on.
I booked an express deal for a Florida Hotel. By doing my homework I was able to figure out which hotel I would get. Their site told me that it owl be one of three hotels. But they also said that one hotel, the one I wanted, had 80 reviews. It booked and got the hotel I wanted. The next day the very same hotel with 80 reviews was offered for $48 less. Priceline refused to honor their price guarantee.
They will hide from you that hotels might charge additional fees. They will show a lower price than other sites and lure you in. I had a horrible experience when I booked a trip to New York, no where during the booking they mentioned I would be charged destination fee or that it wasn't included. Other websites on the other hand like Expedia explicitly states this to be fair and clear to customers. The agents are horribly ill-mannered to talk to. Do better and book somewhere else.
Worst ever! They don't want to issue the ticket claiming it's the airline's responsibility! I booked it through them! Called 20 times in the past 2 months and each time i was on hold for over 30 minutes! Do not book your ticket through them! They don't want to fix the ticket or refund me and i travel in 10 days! Worst customer service ever!
My 1st experience I was taking a trip to New Orleans I purchased an entire package Hotel rental car and flight. The fight was a Night Flight by the time we got into the airport everything was closed so rental car company tells me mine and my husband of which we just got married that week could not get a rental car because both of our names were not the card we paid with. I figured we would worry about it the next day we get to the hotel and they tell me that the price I paid through Priceline was not enough they could not get me a room for that rate. I tried to go back through Priceline they said there is nothing they could do about it I would have to discuss it with my bank the car rental place and the hotel I lost everything had to pay extra money to Uber and get a last-minute booking in the middle of the night for a place to rest my head. Well then this weekend here in my hometown in Illinois late at night I needed a room for my oldest stepson I thought what's the worst that could happen if I go through priceline, I booked the room I get them to the hotel they tell me again the price I paid through Priceline is to low for a weekend rate and they don't have any rooms available for me I could come back at 2 p.m. I come back at 2 p.m. and I'm told the same thing that they have plenty of rooms available if I want to pay their rate but I could not check in with my itinerary number through Priceline while standing at the hotel Priceline bluntly tells me the hotel said you were a no-show no refund I stated I was at the hotel standing in front of the hotel representative and that they are clearly telling me that they will not give me a room due to the price I paid and they don't have any rooms available at this rate and I could not check in with my itinerary number needless to say I have just lost more money again 2 Priceline
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
