Priceline Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

Pre-rented a car through priceline and had a reservation assigned to Advantage rental cars. Was talked in to an upgrade at Advantage desk in Denver after I agreed and paid advantage they said SORRY we can't apply any amount you paid to priceline if you change your reservation. So basically priceline screws you and Advantage screws you by talking you into an upgrade and then charges full amount with no credit for what has already been paid to priceline. Bend over and take it or avoid priceline.com

I booked a hotel room through them and guaranteed a reservation among three hotels and would reveal the actual hotel name which they did. It is over a month that the hotel does not have my reservation and price line customer service kept telling me that they are working with their partner to sort out my reservation. Although Priceline charged my credit and provided my hotel confirmation. Go figure. It appears that Priceline is running a scam reservation system. Think twice before you use Priceline DEALS.

NO Transparency
February 13, 2020

DO NOT BOOK with Priceline. Prices look good for hotels and you pay. Then you stay at the hotel and at the end of the hotel stay they hit you with a bill that might be as big as your initial bill called a "facilities fee". There is a small hidden * on priceline about possible facility fees but Priceline and the hotels should be more transparent about this. This is cheating the consumer. Ultimately making me never want to book with priceline and never want to book at the hotel again.

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Worst company ever!

I booked a flight more then a month ago with priceline, a week before my trip they cancel my connection flights back home. After calling and speaking with 3 of their support agents each time they told me they cannot rebook me and I need to call the airline. Each time I called the airline they told me to call my travel agency PRICELINE and have them book me a new flight.

Each time i call on average i have to wait 25 minutes just to speak with an agent. And then when i speak to them most of the Priceline agent have zero experience and knowledge about their own company policies. They just keep blaming the airline and want to get me off the phone.

Finally the airline (swiss airline) was able to figure out a solution for me. No thanks or any help from Priceline. Terrible service! Zero professionalism! One of their agents just put me on "hold" for 30 minutes and eventually hang up on me. Terrible company.

I will never booking with them again. They do not take responsibility for their own service.

I had rented a minivan for an upcoming trip to Alaska months in advance, and then decided to instead rent a 12 passenger van. Instead of letting me change/upgrade the reservation, they required I cancel the first reservation. Which should have been free to cancel, but I was charged a $29 cancellation fee. It's ridiculous I had to pay that fee when I was really only trying to upgrade the vehicle. Customer service was horrible. Never using Priceline again.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
February 11, 2020

Their website was glitching and not allowing us to purchase 2 tickets. I stead my husband had to book back to back and inadvertently booked me a a flight and hr after his. He has a disability that requires accommodations and for me (a RN) to fly with him. Called back a day and a half after realizing the mistake and was told by multiple agents in a foreign call center that could do nothing but regurgitate their 24hr cancellation policy. I could never get an American agent. I'm sorry but something gets lost in translation when call centers only staff ppl who live in a country that has vastly different norms than your own. I'm sure the same would be true if they called an American call center. This company has gone to hell in a handbasket. I use to only book Priceline, but they have descended into a greedy, soulless shell of an organization. This is exactly why I stopped booking with them.

Beware of Express Deals
February 11, 2020

If you are a novice, warning regarding the Express Deals. We rented a car for our Kona Hawaii vacation and had a family emergency that required us to leave early. I contacted customer service and there is absolutely no refunds of any kind under any circumstances if you have an Express Deal and no offer of discounts on the next rental. We lost approximately $250.00.

Car Rental Deception
February 11, 2020

I rented a Ford Explorer "Full Size SUV" six month before our vacation, just double checking everything before we left I call Dollar Rental Car to confirm, they told me something was incorrect, they see I rented a Full Size SUV but Priceline transmitted the reservation as a Full SIze Car? They told me to call Priceline, Priceline told me no problem something went wrong and to modify my reservation and rebook the vehicle, its was $ 350.00 more? Priceline said sorry but couldn't help, wasn't able to explain but they couldn't do anything, after two supervisors still nothing - just going to forward it to the next team to review, buyer beware - terrible customer service, when I first asked for a supervisor i was told they would tell me the same answer and it didn't matter who i talked to? Booking with Priceline cost me $ 350.00 not a great way to treat customers

Not Safe to Book with
February 11, 2020

In the listing for hotel the add posted fee cancellation. I always look for this. We book upwards of 60 hotel stays per year. Once the reservation was confirmed the policy stated no cancellation on express deals. I had no idea it was "express deal". Stay away from Priceline. They will agree to cancel then claim you will receive a cancellation fee matching to cost of your booking
I would somewhat understand if I was attempting a last minute booking. However I was booking for a room 2 months in advance.

BAD NEWS!
February 8, 2020

Total bull$#*! people...!

I booked my 1st hotel stay and completed it... got a 10% discount offer for my next one... I then booked my 2nd stay, just last night and wanted to use a new 10% discount offer I was just sent, valid between 2/8 thru 3/9...

Agent said this offer was not valid because I booked my 2nd stay on 2/7, which is true. So I asked to use the first offer 10% discount I was sent that certainly would still be valid and within the date range for my 2nd booking and she said "No!"

So why in the hell would you offer any discount when you make your customer run around in circles in order to try to use it and then just deny it in any case or scenario... makes NO SENSE and is a genuinely bad business workflow and offer altogether. Shady behavior for a supposed long-standing brand name company.

USERS BEWARE
February 6, 2020

I was trying to book a flight on Priceline.com. After taking me through the entire process, I received a message that my flight was sold out. "Click here to select a different flight." I tried 3 different flights and they were all "sold out". Priceline still charged my card over $900 for each of the unavailable flights, which maxed it out. Then customer service tells me I'll just have to wait 5 to 7 business days. Meanwhile, I still don't have a flight and no way to book one through another company. Stealing $3,000 from a customer, regardless of the timeline, is unacceptable.

Priceline via a differet web site and they gave me 1 out of 3 hotels for guaranteed price, I filled out a web form and they charged my card right away. The guaranteed price was different then what they charged and refused to adjust. When we got to Up Valley Inn in Calistoga it was a joke for the price. Construction tape was on the courtyard with construction me all over the play.

Priceline is a scam
January 23, 2020

I booked an airport rental at priceline.com for $541. Then I found another site offering a price of $340. I called priceline and asked for a price match. They said they could not do it for some reason. Then I said I would like to cancel my booking. They told me I could not.
I ended up using another car rental service. I never used Priceline's booking.
I called them multiple times asking for a refund, or a partial refund.
They refused to refund even one dime.
In the end, they took in $541 for nothing.
People, stay away from priceline.com. They are scammers!

False advertising
January 22, 2020

We booked a hotel because it had free breakfast a swimming pool and the photos looked nice. But basically this hotel is false advertising and unsafe and falling apart. Our first room was smoking and not supposed to be at all. The floor had big holes in the floor that the covered with new carpet, and the smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling. I asked for a non smoking room like we ordered and was treated as if it was my fault. I did get a new room that the was non smoking but the window would not shut all the way and the hotel clerk has someone doing very lound maintenance at 10pm. When I asked if they always do maintenance that late because it was keeping us up and she said fine I'll tell them to stop sanding the pool floor. So I guess that the pool didn't work either. I was scared to look. Also the clerk had her kids running around and sitting behind the counter like it was daycare. The free breakfast was mostly made up of white bread and hostest cinnamon rolls opened up from the packaging and placed in a clear display. If it weren't for the clean bed I would not have even stayed. L, so it's got a few positives... but now I have to jump through hoops to talk to someone at Priceline about the condition of this hotel.

I bought a ticket whcih clearly said "advance seat reserv included". After purchase, I was redirected to Amer Air to reserve and was then forced to buy seats. Later, had to cancel flight and got refund on that, but they lied, claiming the reserv I chose did not say that. I have a screen shot, but this didnt matter. Almost $300. Run around w/ cust service to make matters worse. They really don't care.

Priceline
January 19, 2020

Buyer beware! Google Priceline class action lawsuits, google Priceline reviews of their many victims. They operate on fraud. I have reported them the the State attorneys office, Federal Trade Commission, Department of Agriculture that regulates travel etc. and any state and Federal government office I can get a hold of including news channels. They need to be shut down for fraud. This time they have fallen under senior crime laws. I booked a Hotel room for 3 adults with double beds. They put me in a Hotel that doesn't have double beds and the max occupancy of the room they put me in is two people. I paid for 3. Apparently they make a living of telling now that you have booked and paid you have to work with the hotel to accommodate you in another another room that fits 3 people. That is deception, fraud misrepresentation and you have victimized a senior citizen that is protected under very strict fraud and crime laws. Priceline needs to be shut down for fraud
