Some stole the numbers off of 2 gifts we bought and spent all of the money on it. The team on the other end wants all of this documentation. They never call you back. When you call them back, they tell you they need more. So an image of your id, front and back of the gift card and image of the receipt isn't enough to stratify them. All they do is delay the response to get you to give up on your pursuit of getting your money back. I feel sorry for all of those people out there to get one of these as a gift card to find out all of the money is stolen off of them and no one cares to get that money back
Back in January I wanted to surprise my husband with a trip. I booked it through VRBO, I used a
Affirm to finance it. My plan was to make sneaky squirrel payments using these prepaid gift cards, That way my husband wouldn't know about the Big surprise. Two months into making payments, totaling over $800, my husband tells me he has something planned during the timeframe I booked the trip. I reached out to affirm and requested a refund by check. They of course did not do that and refunded back to these prepaid gift cards that I no longer had in my possession. I called the gift card company, and they told me all I needed was proof of purchase and the 16 digit card number, or the 10 digit code. I have supplied this for them now eight or nine times, but I keep getting emails saying they need proof of purchase even though the documentation I am sending is directly from the merchant. Ironically there is nowhere you're able to email, you have to fax which seems a little strange considering it's 2020 to that is there only form of getting information from their customers. I have also had horrible luck with their fax machine, it never goes through so it forces you to mail it to them which then takes another 10 days of waiting. I swear they just test your patients and see if you give up. Unfortunately it's so much money for our single income family I refuse to give up, but I do want to warn other people. Do not buy these gift cards unless you plan on using the money immediately and there is no chance of refunding. It amazes me that the $5.95 charge on the back is literally for your protection, so you can register, get a replacement, check balances, etc. but then when you really do need a replacement they make it as hard as physically possible for you. I would steer clear of this company
Fraud, Got the card as a gift and before we used it, someone in California already made a transaction using the card. They say we can dispute by calling the customer service number, but the customer service number does not have an option to dispute. Also they have made the call to the customer service number in such a way that even before you enter all the 16 digits it rejects your card saying the card number is incorrect. We had to write it down and enter the number fast for it to be recognized. Looks like the fraud is by the company itself
I had a family emergency. A family member bought me a $100 visa card from Walmart. Upon attempting to register the card, I kept receiving errors. Finally I called their customer service. They said that "THE CARD WAS. COMPROMISED BEFORE IT WAS EVEN PURCHASED." UM... Then why did they allow it to be sold? And now, it's going to take 7-14 days til I get a replacement.
Was needing a visa gift card for my son to bring to a ball game that accepts no cash. Purposely made a trip to the store to get one. The card was sealed good and tab was only removed when needed for cashier to scan and activate. I'm so glad I checked when I got home. Went to the website to double check there's fund loaded on the card but it said something was wrong with the card information (which is the card#). And finally I called the customer service and was told the card was flagged as fraud (card being used before). How in the hell can a card that is being used before be activated at the store? The lady said a gift card will be sent to me but I needed the card today! I had to go and try my luck again getting another prepaid gift card (definitely not from this lousy company) and paid for another activation fee. There was no upper management to talk to. I have to say this company is a hoax. STAY AWAY FROM IT!
Disgusting rude customer service they don't help you at allcrap of people I don't understand how they have them they are useless
So I bought a $125 gift card as a gift. The person who got the card tried to use it at a salon and it was declined (despite me registering it and setting up a pin). The next day, I called the the GC company above. They told me when it's used at a salon they automatically hold 20% as a gratuity for the salon. She said this is "standard practice" for GC companies (which it isn't), I buy them frequently from other GC companies. She told me to just have the salon run $104 and the balance would be given to the merchant as a tip. OK! I did that. The salon owner called me and said she only got $104. I call the GC (above company) and they tell me the 20% is not held as a tip for the merchant, it's on hold for 18 DAYS, after the 18 DAYS it goes back on the GC ($19). So I gave a GC as a gift but they only are allowed to use 80% of the amount? So now, the person I got the GC for has to go back up to the salon and pay the $19 so she doesn't get charged with theft of services for short paying the salon owner as she is not happy right now because of all this crap. I have never heard of such BS in my life! The GC customer service person could not have cared any less! This is very embarrassing for me as I gave it as a gift of $125 (hense the name "gift card") and the person I gave the card to has to pay out of her pocket and the salon owner thinks I'm feeding her a load of crap! The supervisor that helped me was Iyanla and her badge # is 9982. This is the worst company ever to purchase a gift card from. If you do, be sure to not use it anywhere where a tip is required. Whoever you give it to will only get use of 80%, they will have to pay the difference of 20% and wait for the 20% they paid to be credited back to the card. This company is ridiculous! Gave me bum scoop every phone call I made to them. Don't buy their cards! They are horrible and it's a horrible gift to give! Buy a different card!
I have had a rotten experience; I am quite heartbroken.
Foul play is most certainly involved; thus, I do not have any clue as to why reputable stores carry these gift cards.
My $50 gift card has been rendered useless; even in spite of multiple sessions of speaking with customer service, and quite a few attempts to use the (very, very buggy) website properly.
I am sorry to everyone who has found themselves caught in this trouble..
I purchased a gift card, apparently it was used before but they still sold it to me. Now I have to wait 14 days for a new one.
I received one of these as a Christmas gift, in its original tamperproof packaging. When I went to activate it it showed 2 transactions already made in two different states nowhere near my state, equaling the exact amount of the card. I called and spoke with customer service and they said I would have to file a dispute and would send me paperwork. Ok, seriously? I received it and filled it out. It was almost like a police report or something, there was quite a lot of information requested. I sent it back and more than 2 months later, I've heard nothing. Thanks for nothing you crooks. How in the world is a brand new gift card obscured in its packaging already used up? Sounds like you have problems with your workforce.
Do not buy these cards! I have no idea why reputable stores would carry these cards! My daughter and my husband received $100 ones from my mother-in-law for Christmas. Both were already used before my Mother-in-law bought them. One had a balance of $17 left on it and the other had $13 left on it. It has to be inside job! I called the company about the one missing $82, I actually got through and they said they were going to send me some forms to complete and they would need a picture of my driver's license. That sounds sketchy. Then they said they were going to send me a new card with $100 after an investigation and proceeded to cancel the remaining $17. They said they were going to file a claim with the merchants (Target) after the investigation. Why is it the merchant's fault? There would be no way Target would be responsible for redeeming the cards. It's a problem with Prepaidgiftbalance cards, not the merchants that redeemed them. I finally get something in the mail that says my claim has been closed and the balance missing $82 was credited to the account. But I can't validate the card because they cancelled it. I have no card and my mother-in-law spent $200 just to give to thieves - prepaidgiftbalance.com. What a scam!
SCAM.
I just received the text from my customer. She stated $500 Visa card I sent her as gift was not working.
I called the # on the card and no one answer. Credit card number on the card is not even show on their web.
This is scam. I also contacted to other client and she had also problem using this. Anyone know how to recover this?
So after spending almost two hours on the phone with Prepaidgiftbalance the supervisor Jade employee number 1231 hung up on me. Every other person I talked with seem to at least try to be helpful but this Jade was terrible. I wish you could log a complaint to them but there is no way of doing that. If you ever are going to purchase a gift card make sure you don't use prepaidgiftbalance.
Bought a new card called four times trying to activate it which they could not do. They say they are going to send me a new card which they are going to charge me for. Could take up to 14 days would not recommend this company to anyone
First time I bought a prepaid visa gift card but I cannot use it when I purchase the denied then I call the customer service they unresponsible reply they cannot help the card is verify in thier system they cannt further assistance do not buy this prepaid visa gift card this one of cheater and scammer and fraud company don, t believe it
2 weeks ago I purchased 2 $100 gift cards, I went to use them and they don't work. Called the number on the card and they said the cards were compromised and they are sending me new cards. Haven't received them, so today I go and buy 2 more cards same amounts, they are clearly activated per Kroger. I go to use them and they don't work! F-unbelievable I've been sitting on hold for over a hour trying to reach them to tell me I need to activate my card. So I'm out $400 at this point. Because they won't help me. I'm calling the FTC because this is fraud!
They don't have a functional web page. Their customer service line has a long waiting time, over an hour, and they are not helpful at all.
Can't ever verify your card!
I'd give it a zero if that was possible. I could create a better site that would actually WORK! I could create a better website using a free website builder... What a piece of crap!
I received a 100 dollar gift card for Christmas. When I tried to use it there was only a dollar on it. Someone had registered it in there name and bought some stuff from Target. When I called the lousy customer service they said there was nothing they could do. I asked how was that possible since the was in my possession and the number was not even scratched off and still in the sleeve. They basically said nothing could be done and to bad. I can tell everybody this I and my family will never purchase a visa gift card again and I will tell everyone I know not to either. Lesson learned!
Answer: I've been on hold for over a half hour and I honestly don't think anyone is going to answer. This is unbelievable
Answer: When you buy at the store it will be activated by the casher, if you have problem go back to store with your receipt and they will fix. You know you should always get a receipt for giftcards!
Answer: From my experience you generally don't need to register a giftcard for instore use, only for online or other types of purchases.
Answer: Contact customer support number. Wait time... varies. Theyll help you register your card without having to deal with the janky website (if the wait times arent 2 hours of course)
