I am a seller and a purchaser on Poshmark. I have purchased a few so-so items and purchased some great items. I personally understand some of the reviews. Others, it is more that you needed to learn how to used the site or the app. Now, I do see the point that they really do no aide new customers in this process. For example, when looking at a seller's closet, you can click on the photo and see our profile. Not only will you see the ratings given by previous customers but also what they call love notes. Read them: you may see someone comment on shipping time or you will see what they say about their experience with the seller. If you do not see notes, maybe think twice. If the listing is not detailed enough, ask questions. If the seller does not respond, move on. Seller's have a max of 8 photos to put up. If more is needed for you to buy, reach out.

Inspect an item immediately upon receiving it and then approve it or open a case. To open the case you need to send photos of the item. You can not return because you do not like it but if it is was not listed correctly or is damaged. The max is three days. Now on the seller end, it can be frustrating that someone opens case 3 days later, and you know they did something to the item. I had an experience with a vintage designer bag. The customer washed the bag (not sure if she soaked it or what she used on it) but you could see that it was wet and damaged. She won and I lost. Did I agree, nope. So it is hard to say what is the medium. I think 3 days is too long of a period because it gives shady people the time to take advantage but I hate see to buyers get bamboozled.

Poshmark takes 20% and a flat $2.95 on items under $15. So if you offer someone
$3 bucks on something, they make $. 05. Many may ignore lowballs offers. I do feel it is inappropriate and I counter or decline.

I have no idea why people accept an offer and do not ship. This did happened to me once. I cancelled after 7 days. I did find it odd because a seller can cancel an order before they ship it. I had a seller mishap: I was packing up a shirt, heard a noise and when I turned back: I had split coffee on it. I felt like an idiot and cancelled her order with a message.

With all this said: when it comes to being assisted by Posh Customer Service, you are most likely on your own. Look at it like your running your own business, so you are all on your own. You take the good with the bad. Buyers: look for seller reviews, you can enlarge photos to inspect and when in doubt: do not buy unless your questions are answered. The sellers who treat it like any other customer service experience, will respond and try to make that sale. Also, do not be afraid to make a reasonable offer. But no one should be under the impressions that the company will do a lot for them. I guess, I am using them in the same way they are using me!

Horrible customer service and they never return emails! They take a super high percentage from sellers! I have had terrible luck wiht sellers even shipping the items! Ebay is also sticks up more for buyers but Poshmark is a straight joke! I tried a 10 times to buy and over half those the seller never respond, PM never responds and eventually i cancel and get a refund! Also lots of fake high end purse and Ugg Coats! BEWARE! It's best to just stay away or wait for the item on Ebay! Mercari so far has been pretty decent and they also dont release funds until buyer gets the item!

I have sold thousands of dollars (and earned poshmark quite a bit in the process) on their site over the years, I have been a top rated seller, and have glowing reviews. You would think with all this that Poshmark would try to be somewhat helpful and accommodating when an issue arises... well not even close. A buyer purchased something from me, complained and asked for a refund using filtered photos and what I can only assume is that they damaged the product after using it--and poshmark allowed for the return. It was a low priced sale so it was annoying, but not the end of the world. However, this made me concerned for future sales and I asked poshmark what they do to protect sellers from buyers cheating us and they basically have nothing in place and were less than helpful or sympathetic to my case. They would not address specific concerns or information in my emails and just offered generic information that did not help in my case. I let them know that I am frustrated and worried that I will be cheated on high priced items in the future and am questioning if I should keep my account if that is the case. Their response was to send me a step by step on how to delete my account if I am unhappy. I am amazed at how terrible their customer service is and will be sticking to sites like Tradesy which operate professionally and have some respect for the people selling on their site and earning them money. Do yourself a favor and avoid poshmark as a seller.

My comments would take pages and bore you. And it did start well, but not end well.
My suggestion, regardless of your review, is to request PayPal send you the copy of the agreement you signed if applicable. Until I cancelled PayPal and removed as a form of payment, ( after telling me my account was compromised and they LOWERED security and dismissed my emails, I removed clothes and payment) I was unaware that I had a written signed agreement - PayPal asked if I wanted to cancel the agreement.
I immediately cancelled and asked PayPal if the agreement (as I didn't recall signing one) was between me and PayPal or me and Poshmark. Per PayPal, by checking some box as signing up with POSHMARK and checking PAYPAL that implied it was a signed agreement. As I did not read closely enough, I thought that any time a signed agreement was transacted, especially as this included a third party an email or some facsimile of the agreement would be sent to ensure I understood the terms. Fortunately, the customer service at Pay Pal informed me. My lesson to read the fine print. Hope no one else has a similar issue.

Horrible!
March 3, 2018

The very first time I use Poshmark and my item never gets shipped and zero communication from the seller. I had to cancel the order and luckily I did receive a refund. The second item (I ask if it's still available to be on the safe side) and no response whatsoever. Awful! Back to eBay/Amazon I go! Poshmark is a joke and it's UNETHICAL to tie people's money up while waiting for an item that never arrives.

Sellers never ship
March 3, 2018

I have purchased from Poshmark three times, and not once have I received my item. Either the seller cancelled, or they just never bothered to ship. I'll stick with ebay or Therealreal

I know there are a lot of negative reviews, but so far I only had good experience with the customer service and other seller/buyers.
I sell luxury bags on Poshmark sometimes. 20% fee is a bit high, but what I love is their authentication service, which can eliminate my worries about buyers claiming "item not authentic" or "item not as described."
I sent inquiries to their customer service through Facebook and they have always responded very quickly.
I guess the key is to use their Concierge service when selling high end items, and choose buyers if you can. Sometimes I did not accept offers even though they were high enough, due to the lack of reviews or because there was something shady about them. Like any other selling/buying platforms, discretion is needed, but so far Poshmark has provided the best experience compared to other services such as Mercari.

I love the classic styles of Nine West pumps. I was driven to the Poshmark app through Pinterest. I found some well taken care of shoes on the site. Im in a transition period in my life and found that purchasing from the site allowed me to afford to appear that I was not going through a bumpy time in my life. I attempted to purchase Silver pumps from 3 different sellers on 3 different occasions for my birthday. The first pair was lost in the mail. Second pair was purchased, never shipped. Third pair, purchased at asking price, never shipped. The seller has a full week to ship. During that time my money is held until I receive the package. Well, if Im on a budget and see another item or the same from another seller, my money is stuck and Im at the mercy of the seller until they decide to ship, or not. I run the risk of losing that purchase to another buyer. And yet as a buyer, if I dont release the funds for the seller, they take my funds after three days. But some of the sellers have inactivity for a time. What that means I dont know. Are they sick? Are they incapacitated? But my question is, if you have an online store, who is minding the store while buyers are purchasing? I queried a few buyers from some I tried to buy from and they never received their packages either. Yes we are refunded, but instead of taking the buyers through all of this why not hold sellers to an activity boundary? If there has been no activity in 7 days, make the account of the seller inactive UFN. I can bypass and buy items from active buyers. Its simple! And the Customer Service team is ridiculous. Reading from a script, very Stepfird Wife-ish. Could be a great tool for those re-entering the workforce on a budget or just going through a rough time in life. The items are nice and most are kept well. If a person doesnt have to look like what they are going through, its a good thing for their esteem. Most dont think about those things until its them. Poshmark needs to re-think their policies and procedures.

I have been a seller on this website for four years. I've made literally thousands on it. But I'm nearing the end. The customer service is literally the worst I have ever encountered in my life. A buyer lied to them to get a return on an item and I asked them for an explanation. I've sent three emails, I've messaged them, I've tweeted them. I've tried to be polite about it and I've gotten nothing from them in return. When I posted reviews on Facebook, I found other people reaching out to me with their own horror stories. I've checked the BBB too. They've had 693 complaints filed against them. I feel bad I ever recommended them to anyone, they are just so awful. And it's abundantly clear from their lack of response, they just don't care. DO NOT USE THEM.

I placed 3 orders. 2 items were knock offs from one person, the other was listed as a size 12, when it was a size 8, from another. Poshmark policy was that they provide you with a return label. Iˋd written NUMEROUS E-mails for return labels, with ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE. I did get my money back, because I called the credit card company, & they fought for me. I had made numerous purchases from them with only 2 shady sellers. I am stuck with the merchandise with no address to return them, because POSHMARK would NOT respond to my numerous E-mails, then, they blocked me. What was hilarious was when I called my credit card company about a dispute with an on line clothing company, before I could tell them the name of the company, the credit card representative said, POSHMARK?. I knew then, they obviously received MULTIPLE complaints. When I went on line to several sites, I could NOT believe the NUMEROUS complaints from MULTIPLE sites about POSHMARK. Personally, someone needs to start a class action lawsuit against them!

BEWARE of Poshmark!
February 22, 2018

I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased an item. I purchased a handbag that showed the tag in the picture which stated 10.5 inches wide. Got the item and it was 21 inches wide. They would not return the item and said did not find that seller advertised item incorrectly and that I should have asked questions. I assumed the tag in the picture was for the item I was purchasing. Very deceptive!

Terrible Service
February 21, 2018

The seller's on this site aren't committed at all! I've bought items never got them, asked questions and I never got answers, made bids never heard anything back. The seller's need to be monitored and reviewed to be able to sell. I'm going back to EBAY :)

When you sell an item, before they send you shipping materials, they have you fill out some fields like your birthday (why not ask this way before we sell an item, like when we sign up?) The lamest part is that you have to scroll back from today's date, and you can't scroll back by year... you have to go back each month of every year. Imagine if you are in your 40s! That's a lot of wasted time because the site developer was a $#*!.

I purchased an article of clothing from Poshmark, and when I received the item, it was a different wash than the photos showed. I *immediately* reported that the item was not as described, and they sent me a message saying that they would review the photos. They sent me a strongly worded message from the seller themselves, and have requested many additional photos of the item, all of which I have submitted. I am very disappointed and will never be using this site again.

I have never left a bad review for anyone in my life. Let me just start by saying that I just started selling on poshmark. Getting rid of some old clothes and making a few extra bucks is good. Plus there's some good finds on there. Anyway after making some money I wanted to transfer it into my bank account. Poshmark says they are sending me a verification code to confirm my identity and then I can transfer my funds. I made several requests to receive my codes and NADA, ZERO. After a few hours of waiting I decided to reach out to their customer service. IT HAS BEEN 5 DAYS NOW AND I HAVE GOTTEN 2 RESPONSES AFTER ABOUT 12 EMAILS BEING SENT TO THEM STATING THEY NEED SOME BASIC INFO FROM ME TO HELP. I HAVE REPLIED TO THEIR EMAILS AND GOTTEN ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE BACK. FOR A COMPANY THAT GETS A TON OF MONEY OFF OF PEOPLE WITH THEIR PRETTY HEFTY % FEE AND SHIPPING ETC THERE IS NO REASON WHY THEY CAN'T HAVE A PHONE SERVICE. IRONIC PART OF IT IS I CAN SPEND MY POSHMARK MONEY ON POSHMARK I JUST CAN'T ACCESS IT (HA WHAT A SHOCK) THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH MY ENTIRE 26 YEARS OF LIFE. I WAITED DAYS FOR AN EMAIL RESPONSE TO SOMEONE WHO ISN'T CHECKING TO RESPOND. DISGUSTING. UNPROFESSIONAL AND A SCAM. AND TO ANYONE SAYING OH PEOPLE ON THIS WEBSITE COMPLAIN I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THIS WEBSITE IS SO SHUT YA MOUTH AND GET ON POSHMARK THEN COME TALK TO ME $#*!.

The worst customer serive
February 11, 2018

I have never had a worse customer service in my life. First of all, they do not have a phone number- its only by email. They were slow, incredibly rude, and very unhelpful. Will not be giving them my business again.

I have ordered multiple times from Poshmark, receiving some nice items and also receiving items that were damaged, misrepresented and in one case not the item being sold at all. And many times the item for sale turns out not to be available at all. Most recently I purchased a sweatshirt, that was advertised as like new, only worn a couple times. When I received it, it was clear the sweatshirt's collar had been cut. I contacted the seller who readily admitted that she did indeed cut it, but didn't think it was a big deal, so she didn't list it. After I told her that I would be returning it, she told me to just keep it since she didn't want to pay to ship it back. I sent an email to poshmark, with pictures and the details of the conversation - which was on listing itself, but was told that 3 days had passed since delivery and that although they agree that the items looks damaged they couldn't do anything about it. Next time report it sooner... I wasn't available to open the package the day it arrived. Nonetheless, I responded that there would not be a next time. I gave them multiple chances, thinking they would improve their requirements - actually hold seller's responsible for merchandise they sell - like Amazon and Ebay. But the integrity of this company is seriously lacking. Actually losing a customer for less than $20 just shows what their priorities are. Terrible customer service in addition to an outdated website. I won't waste another minute or dime on them.

So my very FIRST experience with Poshmark will be my last! How is okay that you order a sweater, pay for it, get confirmation from the seller that it will ship, they take your money and then 2 days later get another email saying the "seller no longer has the item" and to expect a refund? So groovy I get my money back but dang it I wanted that sweater! Imagine if I decided to change my mind on Ebay and pull this BS stunt - talk about negative reprocussions. Well thanks Poshmark, I'll stick to ordering from legit and reputable sites from now on.

Don't come here if you want multiple items from different sellers. I can still find things cheaper from other sites that offer free shipping or bundle everyone's into one shipping. I'm not going back for this reason. Plus some sellers don't answer for days and then the product sells.
